Great car mount very cheap only 5.21! - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

If your like me you get annoyed when you buy a car mount and it break or doesnt stay on your windshield or mounted right. Well i finally found a very cheap mount that works like a champ from a company call tmart. I added a video review and heres the URL http://www.tmart.com/MP-Series-360-Degree-Car-Mount-Holder-for-Cell-Phone-4G-3G_p127462.html

I've been needing to get a new car phone mount since my old $30 one broke like cheap plastic.. good review, will check it out thanks.

You can get these from Amazon as well - more expensive but looks like more or less the same thing. I purchased a couple. They are compact and fold away when you're not using them, which I like for visibility and also because I can fold it up and take it with me if I travel and use a rental car. My wife dash mounted hers and it is holding up well. I found that my windshield mounted one gets dragged askew if I have a power cable plugged into it - this could be a loose ball joint so your mileage may vary. Regardless, pretty good mount for the price.
Here's the Amazon URL.

car holders!

Any one seen any nice car holders, I like the look of the brodit ones but I dont think they have updated their range yet.
Been using Brodit for a while now, love the custom mounts they do for almost every car on the road. Still waiting on the i9000 holder, but imagine it will be similar to their i5700 one, just getting a little impatient now, they are normally quicker than this at putting out new holders.
I received this from Brodit support yesterday:
Hi!
Thank for the interest in our products.
We have this under construction so please check our web for updates.
As soon as the holders are ready we have this ready it will be on our web.
But due to summer vacation we can’t say any clear date.
Best Regards

So I guess it will still take some time ...
there's someone on ebay with 3 different models, ranging from $10.74 to $13 (vent mount, and two different windshield mounts - one of which appears to be very similiar to the OEM one samsung australia dealers are displaying, ie it will mount to driver's door window as well)
but the ebay seller's prices include shipping from Hong Kong - they're specific to the i9000, so i figured at the price, i'd grab one till Tmo USA had theirs up
his do not include any charger but as ive already got a Tmo car charger, i'm good to go for now
From Brodit:
Thank you for the mail.
We hope to release holders for this in the middle of August.

Let us know how this works out, I did see this but wasnt too sure how stable it would be, especially through the bends!!

For now, I've 'modified' my Brodit HD1 holder to fit my Galaxy S. Which seems to work ok. Just wish the GPS was a bit more accurate at times.

The Galaxy S is light enough to stay put by itself on the Dash Genie. Though I found that the charging cable can pull on it and eventually un-stick it. I have to ensure the cable stays put and in the right position. It's not the bends that matter, more the potholes. And if you have to touch it it's fiddly. Neat idea, but would not buy it again.
i ordered ths one from ebay - it's specific to the i9000 - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190409500795&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
figured i'd use it till Tmo came out with the Samsung OEM unit here in the states - but after seeing the price for the Samsung unit on techbuy in australia (iirc either $79 or $89 AUD) i might just stay with this one
same seller on ebay has another for a couple bucks more that looks real similiar to the samsung one techbuy has pictured on their web - it looks like it will turn a full 180 degrees in the horizontal plane so you could mount it on the driver's door window -
and he has a 3rd unit that is meant for vent mounting
Try Arkon.
Look at this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YulhYNgR6EM
Here is their website:
http://www.arkon.com/Smartphone_Holder.php
The company is based in the US.
I'm interested to here feedback on the dash genie http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Dash-Genie-Ph...UK_Mobiles_Accessories_RL&hash=item2eae0d02b1 does the phone securely stick to the holder (i.e the phone doesnt fall out when cornering hard)? - Does it work aswell in landscape as portrait? Is the red dot on the holder simply a magnet (does that affect signal or GPS?) ? - From the video on the auction it looks brilliant - I drive a 1 series similar to the one in the video too - so I know it will work on my dash

I actually received it today. First impresson: cheap but well designed. It comes with a little stick on mount so you can also stick the thing to your dash instead of the windscreen. The clamp is spring loaded so it can fit the phone even if it's in a case. I like it.

Did you receive the car mount yet, i am curious if it is ok?
I also ordered this one but haven't received it yet.

yeah - it'll do fine
definitely strong enough, grip wise on the unit - in fact a little too tight, so i dremel'd out the lower capture points to give it a little relief in the vertical axis (vertical when the holder is in "landscape" position
the mechanical action on the locking cam (that locks the suction cup) feels good, real solid
and the mechanical action on the capture nut that tightens on the ball socket is actually impressive - pretty infinitely adjustable, easy to find that sweet spot where the ball socket is stiff enough to hold the phone at the angle / position you want, while not letting the holder move or shift, plus with the wgt of the vibrant so light, it's not inclined to

http://www.amazon.com/Arkon-14-Inch-Windshield-Universal-Smartphone/dp/B000W1PW96/
I got this about a year ago and it works great.. My windshield is very long and from some measurements I had to have at least 12" inches, and this one works out great. Just plan your bends ahead of time, like most of these kind of things it's just a stiff piece of metal in there... You can re-bend it, but it's not easy to do..
Only thing that bugs me is that since it's long, it does bounce. So what I did was make sure the base of it was resting on the top of my dashboard.
If I wanted to spend the money on it, I'd actually get a set which costs about $40 for the car mount, $40 for the phone mount, but it's custom per car and slides into the dash itself and can also be removed... If you're interested in that I'll find it, a quick google didn't locate it.. but I think I saw it linked from XDA somewhere. Looked really nice, but $80 is a bit steep for me and I'd love to get rid of my damn car

that's sweet that you found one you want.
for others that do not own the cars they are driving this is right from proclip's site.
The ProClip Center Mount attaches on the upper mid section of the dashboard. The mount clips into the dashboard seams between the panel sections, providing a very sturdy and tight fit. Average installation time is 2 minutes. No dismantling of the dashboard is required and there is no damage to the vehicle interior!

List of N1 Car Docks?

hi folks!last night i was looking around the web for a Car dock for my n1,and i found there are not many that hook on the dashboard (hate to have it on my windscreen, blocks the view).
I even looked for the Google official c.d, but it appears they are not selling it any more or not available for Greece
Could you experienced folks tell me which dashboard N1 holders are good? Are you using any?
thanx
would you recommend this one?

was using one of these until i upgraded to the HTC Car Dock worked pretty well
i looked for the HTC one,but it's out of stock almost everywhere,or it will be too expensive
i m looking for a cheap system,preferably maximum 30euros(around $60 i think)
i was thinking of looking for a "flexible neck" adapter,so that i can only change that,as my dad uses that for his GPS device
its a last resort, but i doubt i can find anything mountable on dashboard, and due to my car's vents( colt cz3) i dont know how compatible them "vent mountable" holders will be
i checked in proclip site but they didnt list my car
nexus one mounts
this site has a cool selections on car mounts check it out. http://www.amzer.com/HTC/HTC-Nexus-One-accessories.htm
I have had i-phones forever until i found the amazing N1 - I always used a cheap 30 dollar car mount for my Iphones and when i bought the N1 i found that if fits damn nicely into the iphone 3g mount for this specific dock.
The dock is a
Griffin windowseat that i bought at best buy - it fits snugly in what is intended for iphone 3g. I use it daily and would recommend it - i trimmed the ghost armor i have on the phone on all 4 corners where the dock holds the phone.
here is a link if you want - i mount mine just under the rear-view mirror!

OEM Car Mount for i9000

Hey guys,
Just wanted to post and say i found a guy on eBay selling OEM (i hope!) car mounts for i9000.
link: http://goo.gl/LHr5z
I just ordered mine a few days ago and im looking forward to getting my hands on it.
I know its too late to ask for details but what is the situation with car vibration for this mount? (i like to record while i'm driving)
I previously had a HTC D1 with OEM mount and it was perfect, then i switched to HTC D2 and i took a cheap $2,99 mount and it was terrible: i broke after 3 days but i managed to glue it back and even make it a bit more stable but the charger was not powerful enought for when i used GPS... so this time i will stick with the original products!
I will post after i get the item and let you know.
Cheers.
at $50 it better be real
holy cow, that's a bit much for a phone stand in the car
I agree, it's not cheep but as I mentioned before the cheep one I took for my previous phone was useless.
Ebay was the only place I could find an OEM car mount and this guy was the only one how had them. Surprisingly I could not find them at any shop here in romania.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
I bought one from the same guy, no problems and it seems genuine. It is expensive but includes a good charger, has the USB plug that automatically triggers car dock mode and can output external audio, and the stability and the strength of the windscreen clamp is excellent.
Thanks for the info Beano. Thats good news for the strength of the windscreen suction thing.
It wouldnt accept phone with any skin on it even with slim case-mate

Car mount and desk mount

I have the car mount and desk mount for anyone that wants them. The cable for the desk mount is long gone (sent back for service, never received) and I lost the disc for better suction cup mounting. Otherwise, great condition. You pay ship. PM me. Thanks
How much are you looking to get for them? Or are you just giving them away?
Sorry, I didn't see this until now. I'm only asking for shipping from PA. I had the fascinate for less than two months and these barely got used. I just hate to see them go to waste.
I'll take them off your hands, because I'm considering modding them both to include an actual 3.5mm jack to plug into the phones 3.5mm port. I've found that the audio being routed micro usb sounds like crap when compared to the 3.5 jack. How much for shipping?
Sorry guys. Sold.
