Ok, this is not my work. This is something a co-worker put together and I thought it was worthy of a post.

This isn't every touchscreen laptop out there, but they're the ones that I like! Do let me know if there are other good ones out there that I should include.
Microsoft Surface: By far the lightest, if 2lbs means 2.0lbs. It is also 2" shorter and narrower than the others and a bit thinner. It only has one USB 3.0, where the other devices have two or more. It has the lowest price of those with an SSD, of those with two cameras, and of those with 1080 screens. Of these convertibles, it is the most like a tablet in form-factor. The battery life is disappointing, if true.
ASUS Zenbook: The most expensive and the best overall specifications. Even though you would pay nearly $1500, don't expect to play AAA games on this computer; it has the same integrated graphics as the others.
ASUS Taichi: The specs above are for the 21, but the Taichi 31 has an i7, a 53Whr battery, weighs a little more, and has an unannounced price. The Taichi 21 has the smallest battery, and weighs less than the others except the Surface (probably). It has the best camera resolutions. Most interesting about this model is that it has two screens. I'm waiting to see whether that will be awesome or awesomely annoying.
Dell XPS: I like how the screen folds down on the Dell, but you may have different preferences. It doesn't stand out from the crowd in any other ways.
Lenovo Twist: This convertible has the best processor and otherwise very good specs. It’s cheaper than the Zenbook, but also has a lower screen resolution.
Lenovo Yoga: I think the folding back screen is a great idea, but I haven't seen it in practice. It has good battery life and middle-of-the-road everything else, but a nice price.
Toshiba Satellite: This is the only convertible I've listed that supports NFC. This device is probably most similar to the Surface and even has a similar price; it is larger, whether that is a pro or con your book.
HP Touchsmart: Easily the cheapest, in part I'm sure because it has a hard disk instead of an SSD. Do keep in mind that it has a large screen at a low resolution, so it probably does not look as good as the others. It's also the largest and heaviest. Relative to these contenders, one would criticize it as being a last-gen laptop with a touchscreen. That may be fair, but it is still $200 cheaper.
Samsung ATIV Smart: This device is the most like a tablet, but at a high price. If you leave off the keyboard, it is the thinnest and lightest of these devices, but if you leave off the keyboard it's not really a convertible (you would have to carry it anyway). It seems to have a nice set of cameras.
In summary, the Surface is the smallest device, the Zenbook has the best specs, the Taichi has the best screens and cameras, the Yoga is the cheapest convertible, the Satellite is your only option with NFC, and the Touchsmart is the cheapest touchscreen.
No matter if you call them ultrabooks-with-touch, convertibles, taptops, or just tablets-with-keyboards, this generation of devices has me very excited about the direction we're heading. I can't even imagine what the next generation will look like

The Viewsonic 10 inch "G-Tablet" discussed in the link below ($349 from Sears) has the Nividia dual core 1ghz Tegra 2 processor. It sounds like it has pretty decent hardware but lacking in software due to not being an official Google product and having a poor performing UI.
http://androidandme.com/2010/11/tabl...sears-for-379/
Viewsonic G-Tablet specs include:
NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual ARM cortex (1Ghz)
Capacitive Multi-Touch/Multi Tasking panel
10.1” 1024 X 600 TFI LCD Screen
512 MB RAM, Mass Memory 16 GB

1.3MP Front –Facing Webcam
Earphone x 1
Micro SD card slot
2 x 1 W speaker
Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
G sensor/Light sensor
Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
3500mAh/7.4V Li-polymer Battery Life 8-10 Hours
Slim design (267 x 173 x 14.3mm) Wt. 820 Grams
Buttons: Home/Back/Menu/Volume/Power
OS / Android 2.2
Headphone Jack
Built in Microphone
"Original information out of Viewsonic said this device would cost over $500, but Sears is selling a WiFi-only version that lacks the sim-card slot of the more expensive model. Some overseas models were also reported to include 1 GB of RAM, but the Sears unit is shipping with 512 MB RAM."
"The good news is that this tablet comes with Android 2.2, but that might be there the fun ends. This tablet was not certified by Google so it lacks all the Google Mobile Services including the official Android Market. Thankfully you can still sideload apps and alternative markets like SlideME."
You can buy the "G-tablet" here: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1...1&blockType=G1 Use the zoom feature on the picture to get a really good close up of the device buttons and LEDs etc. I like the clean and simple look. Three buttons is nice too and the Wifi only will work perfectly with a tethering Nexus One. At $380 it is ~$120 cheaper than the equivalent iPad.
I think this would be a good candidate for dev support to take advantage of the hardware to root and optimize for 10" display. If developers are interested in rocking this device I am definitely picking one up.
Do you think developers would work with this device?
I just have ordered a Tablet PC, but not pay it yet. because it is 7 Inch Capacitive Screen Android 4.0 and only $79.5 , free shipping
I do not know whether it's worth!
looking forward more ideas!
Can you say more about this tablet? What is CPU, GPU, RAM etc?
the review looks good

Mali 400 is very good GPU in this GPU you can run most games!
And CPU A13 1GHz is too very good for this price! You can in this tablet watch fullHD movies and i think web browsing in for example Opera Mobile would be nice
I've got one of these similar devices. Trust me, they might sound good, but they fall apart if you plan to use it extensively. Mine randomly doesn't install apps for some reason, I have to install apps 3 - 5 times before they will install correctly. Pathetic.
The deal-breaker would be 512Mb RAM and 4GB Storage. If there's no expendable storage, you shouldn't buy.
by the way, check this one out

Hmmmmm..the other specs seems too good for the price..but..the resolution seems tooooo low for a tablet. 480x800 looks good on only smartphones. It will look ugly on a 7 inch tablet

Tablet would be a good for development to test your apps. Not sure about daily usage though, might be a little janky......
That tablet sucks.
Cheapest tablet for the money is the Ainol Aurora. Anything cheaper will disappoint.

thanks, everyone!
this is one of the many models of the Chinese market. a 2-fold lower price it's a gimmick. Look on the characteristics of the tablet is mnogo.protsessor A13 is the cheapest right now.
There are a bunch of different models of the ICOO D50.
You have to read the specifications very carefully.
The one with 1024 x 600, HDMI out and 8 GB doesn't look bad.

however the price is not good for this chinese tablet, maybe you can add a little to get a refurb. nook
good luck

You're seriously going to drop $1200+ on a laptop with a class 3 card??? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Sorry, I don't mean to sound like an ass, but that's hilarious!
Definitely not worth it. PM me if you would like some help. There's A TON of better deals out there

Of course, if you like a Lenovo (I do too) then you can take a look at This One for $629. A little lighter on the specs but it IS a Lenovo.
You should check out the Dell Inspiron 17r 7720 Special Edition. Should cost about $1200 and it has way better specs than that.

And with a little more you can get the 3D screen option. It's quite the beast for the price

Hello! My Dell laptop is broken and have decided to get a Chromebook after realizing I don't do much on my previous laptop except web surfing. I do have a Note 3 and Nook HD+ 9in rooted with CM10 installed but sometimes I just have to browse on a bigger screen with a dedicated keyboard for typing. Having full blown Chrome browser instead of the mobile version is great too. So, I need a bit of help trying to decide between the two Chromebooks I've narrowed down to.
Here are the specs for the HP Chromebook 14 (from walmart):
Key Features and Benefits:
Intel Celeron 2955U processor
1.40GHz, 2MB L3 Cache
4GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory
16GB solid state drive
Store 10,000 photos, 4,500 songs or 8 hours of HD video and more

Ports: 1 HDMI, 1 USB3.0, 1 USB2.0, MicroSD multi-media card reader, Headphone out/Mic-in combo, DC in
Price: $399.99
Does it look like it will be worth it to spend an extra $50 for the Samsung to get HD resolution and a better processor? I do like the HP's bigger size but at least the Samsung isn't as small as the other Chromebooks (11 inches).
Thanks all!
Hi, hope my reply is not too late.
I purchased the HP 14 two months ago and I havent looked back. I am not a big games player but I do use a laptop a lot as I am a teacher and use presentations very often. It took a bit of getting used to working in a different way but I havent used Powerpoint on my laptop for over a month now.
I am more than happy with the HP with long battery life at 7hrs plus, good graphics (although some moan abaout the screen), easy use keyboard and a responsive touchpad.
So, I cant say anything about the samsung but the HP is a nice piece of kit with the 3g built in.
