[Q] When is CM10.1 Android 4.2 coming to the HTC One S? - HTC One S

I have seen a lot of videos and post of Android 4.2 being attached to CM10.1 for the I9000/I9000G and other devices. I keep checking 5 times religiously for it but I am only noticing incremental updates and bug fixes for Android 4.1.2 roms.
I know the developers are working very hard but if anyone can relate, it's not fair to us HTC One S users who keep flashing different 4.1.2 roms with 4.2 add ons as it's not the same as an original 4.2 rom.
Since I rooted my HTC One S (s4), I have been flashing various 4.1.2 roms such as: AOKP Milestone 1 / UnofficialAOKP14Nov12, CM10, JB PACman rom, Blackbean 6, Dark Jelly S etc.
Developers, we need 4.2 roms please.

But I agree that we're not missing out on much.

I tried to get it started the other week but repo and build kept messing up due to various issues. This seems like a completely useless topic and should be closed!!

Will do. I am concerned about HTC devices though as newer AOSP source codes haven't been exported to create a rom yet, which brings me to a question if their is something wrong with HTC devices like the One S. When the HTC One devices got released, they were released as a group so they should get updates at the same time right? Wrong, HTC One X got Jelly Bean 4.1.1 first and its brother the One S has been left out. Is it hardware related? Who knows? I think this subject should be announced by XDA administrators

SO there is the link ^ for jelly bean, but it only works for "takju" devices that Google gave out at I/O, so this update is for the GSM Nexuses that were given to developers. I was wondering if any developer can use this and mod it for possible use and flashing with our One X's? Just wondering. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The one X ROM is at a very early stage. You'll have to wait a bit longer

Unfortunately this is what we can look forward to for the next 6-9 months. Exactly the same thing we had with ICS from the minute it was announced. Wait for the hundreds of rumour threads to start.

i know its dumb, and its just a little update dosnt even add anything major.people are stupid.
New notification bar is great, but I will enjoy it on new phone around Christmas maybe if it won´t come to desire s somehow
We've waited long enough for ICS,
Got to experience JB on a new phone! Cuz, i guess even our devs would move on to something new by then... Leaving our beloved DS deserted!
if you want to use jelly bean, try cm10 or blindbean - both are early stage alpha versions
but most of the options and settings are working already
there are just a few things not working on these roms
they run very smooth
that covers up the not working parts a lot

at the moment there are good ICS roms and super smooth, but plenty of bugs, JB roms I think we've just to wait updates.

I can suggest you ice ds 4.1 to get ics on your device after rooting and recovery stuff. I'm testing it and seems really fast and stable. You will find an updated version here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1567715 but install 4.1 because 4.2 has some bugs. If you don't find a thing tell me. If I can I'll help you.

Interesting HTC Statement

HTC has posted the following statement on their jelly bean update FAQ page:
HTC said:
What about a development version of Android 4.1?
For our developer community, we plan to make generic development ROMs of Jelly Bean available for both the HTC One X and HTC One S. As soon as the ROMs are ready, they will be posted to our HTCdev site (www.htcdev.com). We strongly recommend customers take the time to understand the limitations of the development software along with the terms and conditions on the site before downloading to their device.

When they say "generic" development ROMS do they mean AOSP based or simply the OpenSense SDK compliant Sense-based ROMs?

Well considering HTC is all about sense I don't see why they would change that for a device they obviously intended sense to run on.
If you ask me it's a good ploy to keep people happy while they take longer to release jelly bean. I have a feeling we won't be seeing it this month for sure and doubtful for next. But I don't really care as the way it came keeps me happy

Nice, if this happens I will not jump ship to the n4. I love this phone, but I want a AOSP experience. Did I know the risk when buying this phone? Most certainly did. Ive stuck it out for almost a half a year and I would be more then happy to sell this device to someone who likes the sense UI.
It's a great device with a great profile to it. If it can get a 100% working AOSP i will consider it a win.

It was released a few days ago to AOSP which is where all the source is for stock ROMs like for Nexus devices. It is not yet available for our device, because Samsung has to cover it in their bloat and crap before they will release it. Watch the development threads for cyanogenmod and aokp in the coming weeks if you want the true android 4.2 experience.

Don't get your panties in bunch. I'm entitled to my opinion, too.
I like TouchWiz, and ever since ICS you can disable bloatware in the application management window, so I'm not too worried about it!
Try using cyanogenmod 10
AOSP + TW Camera and gallery would be perfect. TW also has an awesome video and music player.

I haven't believed Samsung in regards to release dates of any software update's since the Fascinate debacle.
I only prefer touchwiz when it's modded aosp features and look because you get the best of both worlds having all the touchwiz features and then slapping on nova launcher with jellybean themes and lock screen and such. Touchwiz features are really are good; I just don't like the launcher.
Personally the Touchwiz clock is amazing I use the smart alarm all the time.

They release updates for the international versions of the phones on schedule. After that it is up to the carriers to release it for their variant. So blame your carrier. In any case you will not have 4.2 until after its released for the international version.

There is a possibility yes. The activity level of the dev/mod community for the SGA is not the highest though. Might take some time untill we even get some real custom roms based on 4.1.2. Custom roms based on Android 5.0 (or look-alikes) are even more far away...
