It was released a few days ago to AOSP which is where all the source is for stock ROMs like for Nexus devices. It is not yet available for our device, because Samsung has to cover it in their bloat and crap before they will release it. Watch the development threads for cyanogenmod and aokp in the coming weeks if you want the true android 4.2 experience.

Just announced today that CM10.1 has officially started. This will be Cyanogenmods jellybean ROMs.

To each his own, but I love TouchWiz. I'm not the only one either, there are a ton of users who prefer TouchWiz based roms over any of the AOSP based roms. I'm not saying TW is the only way to go but the beauty of Android is that we have a choice. No need to bash TW

Cyanogenmod 10 is JellyBean 4.1
Cyanogenmod 10.1 will be JellyBean 4.2
Supposedly the changes are easier to incorporate than in previous versions so we should be seeing 10.1 relatively soon.

Don't get your panties in bunch. I'm entitled to my opinion, too.

I like TouchWiz, and ever since ICS you can disable bloatware in the application management window, so I'm not too worried about it!

Try using cyanogenmod 10

AOSP + TW Camera and gallery would be perfect. TW also has an awesome video and music player.

I haven't believed Samsung in regards to release dates of any software update's since the Fascinate debacle.

I only prefer touchwiz when it's modded aosp features and look because you get the best of both worlds having all the touchwiz features and then slapping on nova launcher with jellybean themes and lock screen and such. Touchwiz features are really are good; I just don't like the launcher.

Personally the Touchwiz clock is amazing I use the smart alarm all the time.

They release updates for the international versions of the phones on schedule. After that it is up to the carriers to release it for their variant. So blame your carrier. In any case you will not have 4.2 until after its released for the international version.

There's no need for that mate. There are many stupid questions here, but calling someone stupid is just not necessary.
Wouldnt it need NFC as well?
My bad thinking of wallet...
Unfortunately Honeycomb and below is "dead" development, people are focused on doing more on ICS than anything.
When Eclair rolled out, development stopped on Cupcake and Donut, and now its quite hard to imagine someone still working on those old versions of Android. Well, looks like GB, HC, and Froyo is in that boat.
I suggest you get a new phone. (I need one too. I'm still stuck on gingerbread)

There was a Jellybean port to ARM6 devices tested on Galaxy Gio by some guy, Im sure we can make a Google Now port.
Well coming from a jelly beaned phone, you do need an arm7 and unfortunately, your phone doesn't have one. You can try porting it but it will come out with bugs.

I'm still holding out on a gingerbread port of it, though.

I believe Google Now is JellyBean specific. However, it's up to the devs to have it in a flashable zip or apk format for ICS devices.

Ewww...that's disgusting.
But as many people feel, I do not feel that someone will actually take the time to figure out how to do it. Do remember that the framework is VERY different. But I am not losing hope that someone....someone...will take the time and get this working. ICS is not as fast as GB on my phone. However, GNow is enough of a reason for my to flash ICS to my phone every few days.
(OG Evo 4G running Decks ICS - 7.09.12 build flashed with GNow)
So GNow is a ploy to get ppl to just buy new phones, that have ICS or better?
Well that's how I see it, the majority of ppl use gingerbread, why not cater to them gooooooooogle?? Its A shame they keep creating new os's like every year or so when phones last so much longer then that.
Offline dictation should of been available back back well there never should of been a connection dependent voice(voice search, dictation, voice anything from google) or w/e.

[Q] When is CM10.1 Android 4.2 coming to the HTC One S?

I have seen a lot of videos and post of Android 4.2 being attached to CM10.1 for the I9000/I9000G and other devices. I keep checking 5 times religiously for it but I am only noticing incremental updates and bug fixes for Android 4.1.2 roms.
I know the developers are working very hard but if anyone can relate, it's not fair to us HTC One S users who keep flashing different 4.1.2 roms with 4.2 add ons as it's not the same as an original 4.2 rom.
Since I rooted my HTC One S (s4), I have been flashing various 4.1.2 roms such as: AOKP Milestone 1 / UnofficialAOKP14Nov12, CM10, JB PACman rom, Blackbean 6, Dark Jelly S etc.
Developers, we need 4.2 roms please.

Will do. I am concerned about HTC devices though as newer AOSP source codes haven't been exported to create a rom yet, which brings me to a question if their is something wrong with HTC devices like the One S. When the HTC One devices got released, they were released as a group so they should get updates at the same time right? Wrong, HTC One X got Jelly Bean 4.1.1 first and its brother the One S has been left out. Is it hardware related? Who knows? I think this subject should be announced by XDA administrators

User error.
Edit: allow me to elaborate.
1. You seem to only call it buggy and useless never asking what you could do to fix it or if anyone else is experiencing the same issues. You are a troll in the purest form and attacking developers hard work is idiotic.
2. You have in no way shown me that you have even the slightest competency in these forums so your merit is in question.
3. Now that the call audio bug is fixed the only thing I can think of that's left is mhl support and this could hit stable. If cm endorses a build as official that means a certain criteria must be met and verified its not a title cm will allow you to slap onto your average build.
