i have a problem with the google play market. i tryed changing that trick to download some apps from market ..the ones with "Your device isn't.." by chaging some features in build.prop. Before i did this i saved a copy of build.prop. This trick didn't worked for me,and i put back my old build.prop. But now,at many apps..i get the message " Your device isn't compatible with this version".
do u have a nan backup if yes restore
and by just changing build.prop values will not help u as the which are not combatible are armv7 and o1 is armv6

I recently installed an androlib custom rom to enable a2sd+ however since doing so maps version has reverted to 4.4 and i am unable to update to the latest version.
Appbrain reports the update is available but when shifting to market i am only given the option to open!?
Am I missing something obvious??

Hello
Tried install both of these on stock ICS and checked "unknown source" , didn't allow me ...
Can I do it using CWMR ?
Thanks
im not sure if this will work but its worth a shot.
when youre in the rom that you want a system application from get the app called "system app backup" i believe cm made it but dont quote me. Then backup the app you want and save it to your sd card. after copy it to your computer and install the rom you want to have on your phone, once again install system app backup on your phone and recover the app you would like to have on your system.
the only thing that i have done close to this is replace the stock launcher.apk with "launcher 7".
always remember to backup, and if this works let me know!

You might have luck with the MIUI camera but the GB one is most likely a no go (all kinds of changes in ICS that should prevent GB system apps from working). If you really want to try it then you can use a file explorer with super user permissions (estrongs or root explorer come to mind) and move the .apk to /system/app and change the permissions to match other system apps.
Sorry to revive an old thread, but in case someone actually stumbles on it, here is the answer.. this should be easy. If you can get apktools working on your computer(google is your friend) you decompile the app you want, along with the app it would be in conflict with. The android system has a list of SYSTEM apps that are able to use the same features.. anyways, once you decompile both apks, copy the manifest.xml and meta-info folder(and contained folder) from the built in app(in this case the ICS camera) into the decompiled app you want to install(gingerbread camera), then you recompile the one you want to add(you can just leave the original app installed and delete the one you decompiled). Make sure you give the gingerbread app a different name, and it will work. Literally, I just tested it(it is that quick and easy once you have apktools setup), and it seems to install/work just fine.
Some FEATURES of the app might not work- like you may not be able to preview the pictures you take with it in the system gallery, but all the settings and whatnot of the actual camera app should be built into the apk itself-- besides 4.0.3+ has app associations, you may be able to use that to get some features working by making it your default camera..
Anyways, pretty sure that would help- good luck.
want ideas

Helow my Friend.I want a step wise instruction . Can you please post it
i attached 2 versions of Miui apk. V 1.7 i think is latest i could find. Tested by me in my stock 4.0.4 Nexus S.
As the title says, is there anything i can do to manually add wich device i have in android market?
I think you can manage to do so editing build.prop, but it's only an idea and I can't help you in this. let's wait someone with more knowledge
build.prop is probably the answer.
Did you flash a ROM ported from another device, btw?
I would try to delete app data and cache and also uninstall updates from.
Then update your market again (to this latest playground sh*t).
I think this will solve your problem
Sent by my fingers to your head.
I had tried restoring instagram from titanium backup, but it wouldn't complete because at the time I had the mount namespace issue.
I fixed that, restored everything, and everything worked.
I recently tried to use instagram on my phone, only to realize it wasn't there. I tried restoring it back again from titanium backup, and it kept hanging forever.
Now I try to install it from google play, and it says "can't install app." The error code is -506.
So I try to manually install the apk through package manager, and it says:
"out of space."
Which is not accurate.
What am I missing here? There's no com.instagram.android in /data/apk. I am wondering if the "bundle id" is registered somewhere and I need to remove it, or something?

There was another thread about this, in which a solution helped 3 or 4 people who couldn't download different apps due to 506 error:
"If you use a root explorer, goto data/data, there are dead files in there under google music, or talk, delete them , then try to reinstall from play store, worked perfectly for me and killed the 506 error, these are from past error installs and Android thinks the app is still installed. I personally use root explorer and within all the actual blue file folders under data/data, the corrupt ones showed as white unknown files, if I helped hit thanks.... These are actually like leftover residual file fragments from a prior intall, that for some reason Android 5.0+ doesn't clean out, tombstones"

Man, there was a com.instagram.android 0k file there.
I deleted it and it worked. I don't know how I missed that in the search. I was already digging around that directory.
Thanks!
I recently learned that "Android ID" is basically a fingerprint that generates randomly on the device's first boot, and changes on factory reset.
Also that it's used by apps and games to verify whether the device is the same one used to pay for said apps and games.
So here's my problem, I used Titanium to backup data of 2 games "Galaxy on Fire 2" and "PES 2018" along with the Android ID, I reflashed my firmware then restored all of that again and everything worked fine. I opened Titanium backup earlier and a message popped up telling me that the current Android ID is not the original one and suggested to restore it, I accidentally selected the restoration option and I have no backup of the Android ID that works with my games' save data so now GoF2 won't open my saves and PES18 crashes randomly.
since these games correspond to a unique ID, I think it makes sense that they themselves store it somewhere in their data.
My question is: Is there a way to extract the old Android ID from these apps?
-Device: Sony Xperia Z2 (D6503)
-Bootloader: unlocked
-ROM: Stock .291
-Kernel: Elite Kernel v3
-Android: 6.0.1
-status: TWRP + Rooted + Xposed v89
Thank you in advance and I apologize if I'm doing anything wrong here, I'm new to this place.
