Hey just wanted to share that are skyrockets can use BLuetooth mice and keyboards.
they pair and connect and works great,
i run a streaming server from home and take my phone with me everywhere. i like to listen to my music, tv shows, and movies and its awesome streaming them through my phone.
but most of all its about the fact that they hook up to our HDTV's you do need the MHL adapter found one on amazon for 8.99 + shipping =12.89 works great
also found a mini bluetooth keyboard with a dpad on it. cost 49.99 + shipping
i connect my phone to my friends tv anytime i stay at a hotel ect.
are phones work great as a little theater pc. hook it up to a tv. use the mouse and keyboard to operate it and you can do anything with it watch movies in this case the ones at my house on my theater pc i have access to. not everyone will have that but you can still have movies on sd card ect. I even play angry birds on my 42" sitting on the couch with this. love the new Skyrocket and wanted to share. didnt know how many people were aware of the keyboard and mouse being able to connect to our phones and were able to make our phone function with them. just like a pc.

Mini Rii Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard for Android phone Ipad Sony PS3 Apple MAC Nokia Symbian Elegance version
thing is super tiny
oh but here same one I think half the price http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Keyboard-Touchpad-Laser-Pointer/dp/B004I4RW8C/ref=pd_cp_e_3
personally so far I'm eyeing Laptopmate Original KP-810-10-BTT but haven't read up on any of them enough to make an educated decision
How does the mouse pad work? I'm assuming that a mouse pointer doesn't just pop up or does it just scroll and such.

You do get a mouse pointer, I have a very similar keyboard. They're super handy too

I picked mine up from eBay last year. Works amazing. I have had it linked to my playbook, MacBook Pro, and all my phones to date. Just wish the trackpad was a bit bigger. Thats the only complaint.
I bought the Mini Rii over a year ago, and maybe I've got a bad one, maybe I'm hard on it, but it didn't last. The quality isn't great, and once the battery starts to die it gets wonky. In the beginning recharging fixed it and or cycling the power switch, but now it takes several key presses to make it wake and respond.
The power cycling wasn't a big deal, and I didn't mind, until the microscopic switch's thumb knob fell off and was lost forever. Now I need a tooth pick or paper clip to cycle the power.
Another thing it does is lose it's mind on the cap lock. Sometimes it will cap lock, without the cap lock light on, and you have to turn cap locks on (light comes on) to get lower case. If that makes any sense.
The touch pad is also less responsive now too.
It didn't cost much, but I still expected it to hold up better than it did. This is just my experience, so take it as you will.
At this point I have a half working PC remote, and great laser pointer for the cat.
I am looking to buy a Sony Dualshock 3 Ps3 controller. I dont own a Ps3 and i plan to use it with sixaxis controller. I want to know if charging it with my computer or Nexus 7 is safe for the controller and/ or the computer/ Nexus 7. Also if it affects battery life. Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Edit: Does it automatically stop charging when connected to a computer/ nexus 7???
It works charging with a computer, the control has very long battery time so charging it with your phone isn't needed.
There are also dedicated wall outlets to buy for charging ps3 controllers. But they're an extra cost that¨s not needed.
I don't own a ps3 aswell, I charge it through the computer everything is safe, you need to connect it to the computer to edit the bluetooth drivers to match your phone anyway
Go get a stand alone charging stand. I only say this because hooking it up to your PC can sometimes cause it to loose Bluetooth pairing sometimes which can be a pita. Same goes for if in the event you ever wanna use it for a PS3.
I love using mine on my many emulators on my phone

that's it. nothing else more
Here's what I have:
- Nexus 5 32GB
- Moga Pro (original)
- CableMatters SlimPort adapter
- Moga Pivot App
I cannot get 2 feet away from my phone, otherwise the controller loses signal and controller inputs (directional pad, button presses) get really laggy and janky, or are just flat out not registered.
Super GNES is flat out impossible to play. Super Mario World has at least a 1-2 second lag from button press to actual result on screen, regardless of how close I am to the phone.
What gives? Moga is offering to replace the controller, but I'm honestly wondering if the phone is just having too much trouble rendering the game on the big screen and accepting inputs from a bluetooth controller.
Any other info is needed, let me know. Thanks!
Sorry that I can't help directly with your setup but I have a slimport on the way and I use a Nyko Playpad with my Nexus 5. I'll get the phone hooked up my TV and the controller when it arrives and see how it works to see if I have any problems.
Have you tried running the phone in flight mode and then enabling bluetooth as the only wireless connection? Also try killing all background processes? Are you running a battery saving app which throttles connections or CPU?
That is unfortunately the extent of my phone knowledge - turn various options on and off till I've exhausted all options then cry for help online ?

I use my Moga Pro Power with a Slimport adapter and it's been working great for me. Been playing NFS:MW, Riptide GP2, and Conduit HD. No lag here.
I haven't tested it with any emulators but native games work just fine.
What slim port adapter are you using?

Have you tried playing a regular game and not an emulator? I wonder if it's because of the extra processor power required to run an emulator.
I have and I run into the issue where if I'm more than a couple feet away, the game does not register controller inputs. I don't think it's the Nexus 5 because this is an RMA and I had the same issue on both (unless it's a software problem). I have ZERO issues if I play without the slim port connected.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Just tested playing both super GNES and a regular game from about a 10 foot distance on just the phone, and zero issues with connectivity. It's clearly when I'm connected to the big screen that's the issue. Now the question is:
1) can the phone not handle all those inputs at the same time? (why does it need to mirror on the screen at the same time?). Is there just too much awesome going on at once?
2) Is it the slimport adapter?
3) is it my onkyo receiver?
4) Is it my hdmi cable?
I want to rule out the above 2-4, as I've had issues of control presses flat out not being registered, but I'll keep testing it out. Hopefully someone else has had this issue and found a solution.

What length HDMI cable are you using?
I remember that my SG3 wouldn't work on a 5 metre HDMI lead but would on a 2 metre one. Not sure how Slimport differs from MHL but try different cables to be sure and different ports in the tele.

Same issue here:
Nexus 5 32GB
Android 4.2.2
Moga Pro Power
CableMatters SlimPort adapter
Moga Pivot App
With just the phone & controller, everything works fine.
If SlimPort is plugged in, I can't get more than a few feet away without losing control/connection
This happens regardless of whether the HDMI cable is connected to the slimport.

Just figured out how to fix mine. Wrap the slimport adapter in foil.
Cheap adapter must be radiating crap in the 2.4GHz band where bluetooth lives.
I'm going to give your solution a try tonight. It sounds plausible that the adapter is affecting the bluetooth frequency and we'll see if foil fixes that, and keeps the aliens away. Will follow up.

What are you guys and gals using as far as gaming controllers. I have a PS3 and Xbox One controller at home. Just wondering if either can be easily used with the Tab S. Just purchased Modern Combat 5. So far I've played it on the G3 and Nvidia Shield.

controller recharges the tablet
is it possible to connect the controller (that has a battery pack) to the tablet and recharge the tablet?
eg. can a xbox one controller, that has a battery pack, be connected with an mhl cable/usb cable to a tablet and be used to charge the tablet?

Finally figured it out...just in time for my trip!
I ended up buying the Red Samurai controller from Gamestop for $15.
I am able to connect and use with retroarch. Just needed to install the free app, Bluez IME. Takes a bit of configuring but once it's set, the controller works flawlessly.
The app and retroarch even has a reconfigured profile for the controller.

Great suggestion. I'm thinking buy the Moga Pro but this is cheaper and it is more similar with PS controller.
Can you tell me if you can play in emulators such as the PSP emulator?
Has anyone tried an original xbox wireless controller with the receiver connected to the usb (via adapter)? The receiver seems to has power,
but the controller wont connect. PS3 controller works though.
my xbox controller doesnt work, as others have said. so how would I go about getting a ps3 controller to work? is it a wired one and can i pick up any cheap ps3 controller?

The sixaxis app does recognize my ps3 controller (afaik there are only wireless with optional cable), but only with cable plugged in. Bluetooth does not work, though the controller
has the right master adress.
Ok the problem seems to be the pairing. If paired from the tablet, it wont work... if paired from the pc, it works.
see I know sod all about the ps3 pad, I dont even know what pairing on the PC means or how you would set it up...
Hello!
Did anyone connect SteelSeries Free controller to the Tab S? I'm thinking about getting one and I would like to make sure that it will work.
Trying to pair red samurai wireless tablet controller with my tab s
the bluetooth can see the device, but when i select it to pair the device with my tablet, it asks me to confirm the PIN code for the device, which is displayed when i select to pair. But it fails to pair every time because I don't see any dialog box or anything pop up to enter the PIN code to pair successfully.

red samurai controller (GameStop)
Using the red samurai controller with all playstore emulators works well but with a little lag between button press and action.
BTW GameStop has it for 8 bucks and the tab recognizes it via Bluetooth no problem

The PS3 controller is the best way to go for me...
I bought the red samurai for $8 also just to play emulators..
The controller paid with no problems and I was able to map all the keys but the lag from button press to In game action was unbareable
The PS3 was fussy to set up but it's more 1to1 responsive..

If you are using the red samurai v2 you do not need blue imz, it should just work.. or at least it does for me. I also have not noticed any input lag even vs a usb controller I was using over usb otg until I decided I wanted to be able to charge and use a controller at the same time. I have also used the same red samurai v2 on my win 8.1 htpc just for testinf and it paired right away and worked with near 0 input lag.
Im just using sixaxis controller
Using a ipega 9023 version 2 with the red buttons ......awwwweeeessssooommeee

Just tried the mi gaming pad but tab s doesn't even recognised it... looks like a waste of money, to bad... my honor6 gsm paired directly without any problems! Damn you samsung!!!

Fixed it! I installed it on my tab s ? I installed bluetooth autoconnect and then bluetooth terminal which is in wears Polish or Russian or so but I used it to scan for connecting devices and it saw the device... then went to bluetooth settings in tab s and it stood there ready to pair with !!! Me happy !!!
I've tried the Nyko playpad pro and it's hot garbage. I've ordered 2 of them and they've both arrived dead. won't power on or anything. I've read a lot of reviews on it and see that you have to be lucky to get a working on. I'm looking for a bluetooth controller that works and a way to reconfigure the buttons on it. Is this possible? I want to use the controller for my phone, Shield Tablet as well as the Shield TV. Someone thought it was a good idea to not allow you to remap sprint and crouch on DOOM 3, which is super infuriating. Non rooted
If you have a PS3 DualShock controller, you can use the Sixaxis Controller app to map all the buttons. It works great with my Nexus 7 and GS5.
