[Troubleshooting] Wifi Xoom - Xoom Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've been having an issue with my xoom for the past few days. I left it unplugged on my bed in the morning and when I tried to use it again at night before I slept, it wouldn't turn on. I assumed it was simply out of power, plugged it in and went to bed. The next day, when I tried to turn it on, it still did not turn on. I can see a faint hint of a green led when it's plugged in but I have to turn off all the lights in the room to be able to see it.
Out side of that, the tablet is not responding at all.
I am running cm-10-20121120-NIGHTLY or 21.
Can you guys suggest some troubleshooting steps?
Cheers,
Routaran

Atrix wont power on after attempted power cycle

I've had a Motorola Atrix 4G ever since the release last week, and I just now ran into some trouble. I recently tried to deplete the battery completely and then charge it all the way, to see if it would help the battery life (Ive done this before on other phone, and its worked, so I know im not crazy? RIGHT?!).
I played some Gun Bros for a while and then it powered off. I connected the charger cable to my phone and my computer, and left it for a while... and tried to turn it on. It didnt turn on, so I left it for a bit, and then tried again... and it still didnt turn on. Whenever I try to power it on, the notification light turns on for a bit, and then turn off.
This is my first Android device, so im really not sure if this is normal, or something.
My device is on 2.2 (of course), and has been rooted. Nothing extravagent has been installed on the device... just a few games, and some widgets.
If you guys need anything, just go ahead and ask.
Ugh... I got it.
I had to plug it into the wall :|
Thanks - same thing happened to me and I was about to freak out.

[Q] Wierd behaviour

I bought my gtablet from woot around 3 weeks ago and installed cyanogen 7.0.3 on it on the first day. I had been working great till today. Last night I charged the tablet fully before going to bed and disconnected it once it was fully charged. Today morning when I woke up the screen would not turn ON. I thought the battery must have drained and so I connected the power supply and it started charging the tablet. After 15 mins the screen came on by itself. So I then switched off the screen and left for work.
Once I got back from work I switched the screen on and the screen came on without any issues. But then it just hung. None of the buttons respond, not even the power button. The screen has been on for the last 4 hours. My computer is unable to detect it when connected via USB. If I connect the power supply I can see the charging light come on.
Has anyone else come across this issue? Is there a way to resolve this issue?
sounds very very familiar to my issue... been up all night trying to figure it out no luck thus far... nvflash wont recognize it on two different computers and not a chance at getting to cwm...
It shutdown once the battery drained. Charged it up and it started fine. Now I am issues updating my apps from the market place . The error I get is "There was an error downloading the update"

wont turn on unless its plugged in

hey guys i just got my transformer today. a couple of times i shut it off and when i try to turn it back on it wont work unless i plug it in, even though the battery is above 90%
I have a very similar issue.
I have the B40 model, when I shut down, I can't turn back on. I have been leaving my TF on all day then just shut down at night and when I come to turn on in the morning, iit is fine. Today I had to restart due to wifi constantly saying it was turning off for no reason, upon shutting down, it wouldn't power back up. I hav left it for approx 1 and a half hours, still nothing. Doesn't make any difference if it is plugged in or not. My battery is full.
Really could do with some help with this issue, as it is really spoiling what I regard as a brilliant device.

Once you plug it in and it come on, does it stay on when you take the charger off?
Once on and you hit the power button does it do anything?
You might have a faulty power button IMO.
I don't know about Krueger, but mine doesn't do anything when you plug it in. I have to wait a few hours. When I last shutdown, I was trying to restart, it just never did. I had full charge. I can't even get into APX mode. My TF is stock unrooted. Power button works just fine when tablet is on, does exactly as it should.

I've seen reports of peoples getting this "deep sleep" and not able to turn it on easily. Not sure if there's a definite fix or not. Some peoples say they have good luck turning of the lock screen, some say they fixed it by factory resetting the tablet.

Cheers m8.
I will give this a try when I can turn it back on again. Its been approx 6 hrs now since I tried to restart it. I will have to wait till morning I think. When it has done it previously, I have left it on charge all night, even though there was more than half in it each time, and it seems to start up after about 7 - 10 seconds of holding the power button in.
Thanks again

So I have spent 15 mins listening to the back of the device while trying toturn on. From what I can hear it sounds like a quiet jet engine firing up for approx 1-1 and a quarter seconds then sounds like the jet engine turning off (I know this sounds wierd, but best way I can describe). Its almost like there isnt enough power to fire it all the way up. There also other noises going on even when I dont try and turn it on, so I don't think it is fully turned of. Maybe a deep sleep issue. I did notice on this occassion, befor I tried to restart that I had no internet connection and when I went to check wifi settings it said Wifi is turning off. I leave it set to default.
Thanks

Table not booting, have no way to turn it off, only 4 screens available to me HELP!

I have had my tablet for just 2 months now. I haven't tried to root it yet because I am just fine using it stock for now. I left it in my truck over night but I remember when I put it in my backpack the screen was turned off. When I got to it in the morning it was hot like it had been processing overnight. The battery was dead so when I got to work I plugged it in. The screen that came up after plugging it in was an image of a battery with some sort of timer icon in the middle of it. I figured it would need some charge so I left it on that screen for about an hour before trying to turn it on. When I did finally turn it on it booted to the "Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" logo screen and stayed frozen there. I rebooted it a few times with no luck. I rebooted into recovery mode (oden) and the screen that came up said "downloading, do not turn off target !!" and gets frozen there as well. I cannot turn it off, the screen will stay on until the battery dies. I am about to take the dam thing back I am so frustrated.
I have searched the forums and the interwebs for some direction with no luck. I know you guys are the best so I was hoping someone here would be able to help guide me to a solution. Thanks.
PS: I have some images of the screens but the forum wont let me post the link until I have more posts so feel free to PM me and i can get you to them
Sounds like a defect device to me, just bring it back to the dealer and you'll get it fixed or get at replacement one!

Ditto.... Overheating is a sign the battery could be about to die... This is a BIG problem... Not only is a hassle for you but can be a fire hazard as well.... Lucky the truck didn't go up....

Nexus 5 LPX13D won't turn on after depleted battery

Not sure if the two are related but a few days ago I flashed latest developer preview LPX13D, last night I was playing with my phone and the battery got below 5%, so I placed it on the wireless charger and went to bed. Woke up this morning to find out my Nexus 5 won't turn on at all so I figured I didn't quite get it on the sweet spot on the wireless charger and plugged it in only to notice the screen didn't come on. I've tried letting it sit plugged in for 10 mins (factory charger and cable) and holding down the power button for 20-30 seconds... nothing. I know there are plenty threads about the Nexus 5 not turning on, but I wanted to make sure this had nothing to do with LPX13D, has anyone else let their phone get completely depleted on LPX13D? Anyone else have any tips or things I could try? I had zero issues when flashing, and the phone ran perfectly prior to. Off to a lovely Monday...
