Bookmarks in app drawer on android JB? - General Questions and Answers

Hello,
I think this is the right place in the forum to ask this. Apologies if not, feel free to move/delete....
Is it possible to have a bookmark saved in my app drawer? I know u can do it on your home screen but I want the bookmark to be saved as an app icon in the app drawer.
From googling already it seems it isn't possible but this is quite hard to believe!
Many thanks

Possible to hide apps in the app drawer?

Hey guys. I was just wondering if it is possible to "hide" apps in the app drawer. Mainly, I want to keep the critical apps that some apps depend on, but I don't want them to be seen in the app drawer... Some examples would be Voice Search, Voice Dialer, Call History, Clock, PDF Viewer, and Talk. I just like having an uncluttered app drawer, but the only way that I know of doing this is to delete apps.

There is an app in the market, i think its like "App vault" or something like that.
I can't remember who makes it. But I think it does what you are looking for.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it. If that doesn't work, is there anyway this could be ported to our phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=540880
Just found out that App Vault disabled the app rather than hiding it. Unfortunately that would break apps the depend on the disabled app. One search I did, I found people who were able to hide apps by renaming the .apk to .bak, but that disabled the app.
bump.
anyone have any info on how to hide apps in your app drawer with default home launcher?
If you're using Launcher Pro Plus, theres a hidden apps feature.

ADW allows this as well. While the app drawer is open press the MENU button and then "Choose Group" > Create New Catalog and then set it up with the apps you want to be visible

[Q] how to add a shortcut to go to a website on desktop?

Hey guys!
Does anyone know how to add a shortcut on one of the app screens of GoLauncher that will take you to a website? I like mobile web Facebook more than the app and I want to have such a button that'll take me to the site. Any ideas?

I assume add shortcut to a bookmark perhaps, works that way n sense.. should be similar

Yes, but bookmark is in the browser app. I want to access the link like I access other apps....so the link would be on my front screen. Sorry it might be a dumb question, but I cannot seem to find this function.
Hey Okishead.
I don't have GoLauncher, but if its anything like the launcher I'm using (from a custom rom) then you can just find any space on app screen and touch the screen for a few seconds which should bring up a menu. If there's an option for Bookmarks, or shortcut then bookmark that might be what you're looking for.
If not... then ignore this!
damn, I'm stupid!! Bookmarks was under Shortcuts!!! Thanks thanks thanks!!

Looking for a launcher

I am looking for a launcher which merges the home screens and app drawer. I want something where I have my home screens, but rather than press the app drawer button simply swipe to the side to find all my apps. Does this kind of launcher exist?
MIUI works like that.
And post this **** to Q & A
Yes search for TSF Shell Pro 3D v1.5.0.03 it's an awesome launcher.:good:
Maybe try the above rom. It's like I phone. It is annoying that Android have an app drawer. In fact it's stupid. But I guess it's a patent by Apple

But, it is not really a question - more relevant here I feel as it is to do with apps. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I've tried MiHome. It does what I want, other than the fact you can't organise applications alphabetically.

That's the same launcher I'm looking for.... and I found it!
Apex Launcher.
What you need to do, is make folders and organize them into categories.
Then you put all the Apps in there.
You create the amount of Homescreens you want, and fill in with any Widgets you want.
You make the dock with your most used Apps... hold and click on "Gestures".
You make "Swipe Up" to "Show App Drawer".
Make any other UI changes, and voila!
PM back if you want more info/instructions.

Internet app missing

Well I was playing around with my new galaxy s3 today and I went to got use the internet app and I accidentally deleted the app from the home screen. I looked in the app drawer and its no where to be found. Can someone please help me.
I'm thinking it would be hard to permanently delete the browser, but I think I know how to help you.... by default the S3 is not sorting apps in your app drawer alphabetically and it makes things impossible to find. Go into the app drawer, hit the menu button, press View Type, and change it to alphabetical grid or alphabetical list, whichever you prefer, and you should be able to find it. You can also change apps on the bottom bar of the homescreen by long pressing then dragging them in and out/to the trash. Good luck and enjoy your S3... it's an awesome phone!

Looked all over for a home screen apps sorter

Ok guys I've looked everywhere but found nothing. I am looking for an app that simply sorts home screens apps in some order. I don't want one that makes folders. I want to just be able to use the app to sort every now and then and just close it afterwards. Thanks

I am confused I guess. I don't understand exactly what you are looking for. You want an app to organize your apps on your home screen? Can't you just just organize them how you want them on your home screen? Maybe I don't understand exactly what you are looking for.

Action Launcher gives an alphabetical list similar to windows phone.
If I understand correctly, you want an equivelant to the windows shortcut for "sort by name/type/date modified" for your homescreen, or for your appdrawer.
I echo the thoughts of others in asking why. It's not like your homescreen can accumulate dozens of apps the same way a desktop can pick up dozens of shortcuts, or that they are difficult to get rid of or sort yourself. Folders work fine... also, there are widgets such as Glovebox and CircleLauncher which will allow you to create live groups of self-hiding icons.
but Android is an open OS, so the simple answer is, if there's something you want that doesn't exist, just build it yourself. this, however, seems to be something that would be at the launcher level, not the level of a widget or app.
Exactly. But for people like me who hate using app drawer I think there should be some kind of stock setting
