[Q] Amazon Wireless backordered - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi, I recently bought a new s3 for verizon of the amazonwireless site.
I was expecting it yesterday since it says two day shipping. What does backordered mean and does this affect when I get my phone?

Backorder means amazon doesn't have them they are on order from Samsung. So yes it affects when you get your phone.
By the way that would have been an easy Google search

Back ordered means it's out of stock and Amazon will ship it when they get some stock.
When something is back ordered Amazon skills tell you approximately how long you will have to wait.

You'll get your phone way before that. They just dont have a proper date because its backordered.

Got your Atrix 2 from Best Buy in the last 30 days? Important info inside!!

My boy TimmyB44 on AndroidCentral put me on to the fact that according to the local RadioShack ad in todays newspaper, they are offering the Atrix 2 for free. So if you got your Atrix 2 from Best Buy within the last 30 days you can get them to match the price and get a refund. Having just gone through the process let me let you know what happens.
First thing you want to do is contact your local Radio Shack and see if they have the phone in stock, once you find the store that has them, notate their phone number and call Best Buy at 1.800.BEST.BUY and request a price match. They will ask you for the store phone number so they can confirm they have the phone in stock and it's price. Once they do so they will submit the price match and you will be credited the difference (in my case, $49.99) within a week to 10 days. Make sure you get your case# just in case, at least you'll have something to follow up on should you not see the credit in that timeframe.
Will already be free at bestbuy after Thanksgiving. Ad already out. Sgs2 will be 49.99 at radio shack though,so my atrix2 will be returned anyway.

Yep, sure will, will that help those who bought theirs prior to the 24th of last month? Not at all. Not only that, but Best Buy does not price match for items for sale Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving. So hopefully it stays free after the Black Friday sales so they can get price matched too.
I just did what you said and I called the phone number and they told me they prefer doing the price match at the store. They also want you to gave the receipt and after that they processed it and they returned all of my money. So my phone is was completely free. No tax no nothing. Free. Thanks for the tip!!! E

They didn't need my receipt as it was in my account electronically, they even emailed it to me the day I got it. So hopefully the same happens here, full refund.
Would this apply if I bought from AT&T? (In AT&T they matched my price to Bestbuy's $49.99)

I was super surprised that they gave full refund. I got my receipt from customer service so it worked out well. Did they give you your money back yet or is it being processed?

They should be able to. If not, then just return it because you're within 30 days to cancel everything. Then go to RadioShack and buy it. lol.

It's being processed, she said it would take a week to 10 days. I'm in no rush to get it so I can wait. I will let you know how much they refunded though.

Except that AT&T charges a $35 restock fee. You'll waste more than the $15 in gas.

Will Radio Shack or Best Buy be able to handle making sure that I don't lose my unlimited data plan? I picked up my Atrix 2 last week (even knowing about the other deals coming) because to me that's more important.
(I also tried to get the AT&T store to match the Best Buy $49.99 price on Friday, but they wouldn't. I did get them to forego to the $18 upgrade fee, at least.)
I've got 30 days, so can take the Atrix 2 back to AT&T, but fear that Radio Shack or Best Buy will screw with the unlimited data, and then it'll be more hassle than this is all worth to get it straightened out.

I don't think they will screw the unlimited data part. They don't change anything in your plan. They just change your phone and change the dates for when you can upgrade again. I am sure if you ask them it should be fine.

I called 1800bestbuy about the price match.They looked up my purchase and told me since I purchased it in store that I would have to go to a store for the price match. I drive to the store and they called Radio Shack to confirm the price. They then spent 45 minutes trying to do the price match. Computers were very slow and kept going down and freezing up. Finally the BB mobile manager came over to help. They finally said I could not price match because I was past the 30 days. The 30 days started from October 19th and not November 4th. My receipt said I had until December 4th for a return. I was not happy at wasting gas and time to drive to the store, since I should have been told this over the phone when I called the 800 number. I complained to 1800bestbuy and they requested a giftcard for me, I guess I may try calling another store and see what they tell me over the phone.

The phone csr was wrong, I bought my phone in store as well and I got my refund processed while I was sitting at home in my boxers. But the store manager was right, the 30 days doesnt start over when you exchange a phone, the 30 days starts on the date of the original purchase. At least you get a $5 gift card out of it, now ur phone was only $45!

I can also confirm that this worked with the AT&T store. I actually bought mine originally for $99 a few weeks ago. I brought in the Radio Shack ad (they insisted on needed the actual ad--internet price doesn't count) and they've already given me a $100 credit to my account! Free phone (except for a bit of tax)!

Have they just not received any stock? or do they keep selling out? If they keep selling out I am sure there is someway to wait list yourself for the next shipment. I think they are just running low inventories for some reason even amazon is showing out of stock.

They actually aren't getting any . They get shipments in Tuesdays and Fridays . I was there Tuesday morning be they even opened was the first one in The Door and they said they didn't get any this shipment check back friday

Best buy mobile has them as well. But amazon has them... watch out tho they randomly like to charge a little more than asking price. Its shipped by Amazon (prime) but sold by 3rd party.

I work for samsung at best buy. Most stores have not received any. Nobody is happy about it. I can confirm that all stores at least in Fort Worth Texas area will have them friday and best i can tell will at least get 8 so i would still get there early.

According to their online search, none of the stores in the DFW Metroplex have them in stock.

I pre-ordered about 2 weeks ago with AT&T and they had shipping dates of April 8, but then the Gold/Browns were all delayed until April 30. Try a black if you want to get it quicker, but I have black Galaxy Gear 1 and want new color.

At&t is running a promotion if you order 3 accessories you get 25% off. The watch is included. I already had mine but got the difference refunded from bestbuy because of this. Either way go to https://www.att.com/shop/wireless/accessories/accessorieslist.html Order the watch you want and two $5 items and you will get the watch for $225. It works so even if they are slow to get back in stock it's worth the $75 savings. Otherwise keep checking at BB and show tjis website and they should price match.:good:

I pre-ordered a 32GB model on the 13th because I only really keep some apps and my photos and videos I take on the phone. However, the next day I decided to pay the extra $96 to double the capacity. Fortunately the Verizon rep was able to change my order while keeping my place in line. I got the tracking info yesterday and like others, will be receiving mine on Tuesday.
I wonder if it will have the verizon stamp on the back

Canadian Galaxy s7 edge discussion

I think we need our own thread to discuss about our preorders and future development related to our model.
so, I already preorder mine from Koodo and they are saying it should ship after March 17th. But, I'm hopping i receive it by march 11th. So, Those that made a preorder, what carrier and when will you be getting it?
Pre-order at Authorized Bell dealer. Put $50 deposit and will be in store pickup. Haven't heard any news/update with regards to when I will get my phone. Hoping for March 11 or earlier! How come Koodo shipping March 17th? Really disappointed that only black available for pre-order!
Pre-ordered with Fido. My position in line is 139. Down from 142 a few days ago.
If any Fido insider can shed some info on when it'll arrive for us, that would be greatly appreciated.
Pre-ordered at Samsung store. Unlocked and gold color. They told me black color will be available on Mar 11, ETA for gold and silver is Mar 28.
Pre-ordered my S7 Edge from Telus on their website, had to pay the full 500$ immediately to complete the order .. They sent me a link to a webpage with a link to follow to see where is our order status and it keeps telling that it is in processing and will be ship by march 11 .. Pre-ordered from Rogers on Feb 24th. I'm 676th in line.
Could be a loooong wait. I remember getting a call from Rogers about picking up my pre-ordered Note5 about 9 days after I had walked into a store and bought one already. My guess is that Rogers (and the other carriers) won't start shipping until the 11th, then won't be in any hurry to get them to us pre-orderers.
That being said, a free Gear VR is worth an extra week or so of waiting.
Safe to say the ones sold in Canada will have the Snapdragon 820?

Whether or not they'll actually let me have it that soon remains to be seen, but I sure hope so!

I preordered the S7 Flat from the Samsung Experience Store (Sherway Gardens).
After much thought, I ended up calling them and switching my order to the edge.
I'm kind of nervous about the screen getting scratched though since its so exposed... There isn't that many screen protectors out either on Amazon (CA)

If you get it from the samsung store(not the bestbuy+samsung store) its sim locked but you get an unlock code.

There is probably like only 3-4 locations in all of Canada.
It's pretty cool though, you get a free Gear VR and 128 GB MicroSD card when you pre-order, plus its unlocked if you buy it out.

Yes, it's a retail store like Apple store. Only 4 locations in Canada, luckily one of them is 5 minutes driving from my house.

I ordered my 4 XL the moment they went up on the store on the 15th. Credit card was charged immediately. Got an email on the 21st that my phone was "dispatched" and it said it was expected to arrive by the 24th. This lines up with Canada Post's Expedited Parcel delivery standard.
However, even as of the evening of the 24th, the tracking information shows that Canada Post hasn't even received the phone from Google yet. If I knew it was going to be this slow, I would have just waited until the 24th and walked into any store and bought it there instead. Lesson learned.
Anyone else in the same situation? Or did anybody in Canada get theirs from the Google Store already?

I'm getting mine tomorrow (Fri Oct 25) ordered on the 23rd. Got the white XL 64 gig. You'll probably get it tomorrow. There have been times where they don't for some reason scan the packages. Happened to me when I got my Pixel 2 XL.
I'm Canadian (New Brunswick) and ordered right after announcement from Google. Received mine today via Canada Post. Ordered the black 4 XL.
Ordered on the 15 was dispatched on the 22 says it will be delivered on the 25 -28 Edmonton Alberta. From the Google the store..

I had my order completed and my credit card charged literally 30 seconds after the Pixel 4/XL went up for sale, yet people who ordered later already have theirs. I guess the moral of the story is that the Google Store has no consistency.
Did the phone ship via Canada Post for everyone? Perhaps they used different couriers for different regions. I would have been willing to pay for expedited shipping but there was no such option. It's strange since people ordering from the US Google Store had expediting shipping options.
I got mine today. Bought it on the pre-order and it arrived today via Canada Post.
I'm in Vancouver BC.

I pre-ordered the same day of the event and received mine on Tuesday. In Ontario.

yes , got mine on 23 and rooted already!
Canada Post came and went this morning, no delivery. Tracking status hasn't changed, still hasn't been picked up from the warehouse.
Clearly somebody messed up. With a purchase of this price, you would think that more care would be taken to ensure that it is shipped out on time and not left sitting in some warehouse for days or potentially weeks.
Well, I won't be buying anything from the Google Store ever again. I'm going to go pick up a 4 XL locally this morning and cancel my Google Store shipment. Based on the current level of incompetence, I imagine they will give me a lot of trouble getting my money back too.
Mine has arrived and processed at Edmonton should be here this afternoon.

Decided to contact Google chat support and the rep told me she needs to transfer me to the shipping team as it seems there is an issue with the device being sent to Canada Post.
Had me waiting nearly an hour to be transferred before I just gave up on waiting.
Leaning towards just cancelling my order and buying the phone from a local best buy or something but I really would love to have that $150 credit for pre-ordering. I also had $50 credit from before so it was helping a bit with the price.
Going to try giving them a call instead of chat and see what happens. Man this sucks, was really hoping to set this 4XL up over the weekend.

Isn't it sickening? There is just no excuse for that kind of incompetence, especially from such a massive company.
What version of the phone did you order? I ordered a white 128 GB XL and it arrived yesterday via Canada Post for me. I'm in Nova Scotia. I ordered mine similar to you, shortly after it was available for preorder on the 15th.
It's possible other versions of the phone (color/storage) did not ship as fast.

Yeah definitely! Haven't had a chance to give them a call just yet but will definitely keep this thread updated with what they say.

I ordered the Just Black 128GB model. Seems like it's the least popular option so I thought it'd arrive sooner than later. Definitely didn't expect for an issue like Canada Post not even receiving the phone :/
