I have been trying to figure out the battery drain caused by android system for the past week. I am on cleanrom lite v4 and if it wasn't for that I would b getting great battery. I was looking through everything and found that my Android system version was still VBRLJ1 while everything else was the K1 leak. I could this be causing my problem and how do I fix it? I'm running ktoonz kernel and have done the qsiffdaemon and qosmgr fixes. I I've also done reboots, wiped caches, mounted system and fixed permissions.

Download better battery stats and see what it says is draining the battery. You can find it here on xda with instructions. Post the partial wake locks results here or even better in the thread for BBS.

Okay well to help figure it out. Charge you're battery fully, unplug it and don't touch it at all for at least an hour. The best is to leave it over night. Then post your BBS results. That way all that is shown is what is draining upper battery.

Well, BetterBatteryStats is probably your best bet to figure out what's draining your battery.
You also have an international GSIII (i9300) however this section is for the US GSIII (SCH-I535) which has different hardware so you should probably head over to the i9300 section for proper support beyond what anyone can say regarding BetterBatteryStats.

Can anyone look at these screenshots and advise me on how I can get better performance from my battery? I just flashed SkyICS (latest version) hoping to get better performance from my battery, but it doesn't seem to help. This is with what I would consider medium to heavy usage. I used my phone most of the day to browse the web and check facebook.
Any ideas?

I prefer no frills cpu. It will report the wrong settings when the toast pops up, but if you check cpu spy you will see it's working
Here's a couple basic and obvious tips and you might already know this, but no one has mentioned it yet in this thread so...
Turn wifi off when there are no wifi networks to join, but I've heard not to let it sleep when you are wifi connected.
Leave bluetooth and gps off when not using it. I don't let allow any of google's location services to run in the background myself. Not sure how well that helps the battery though.
Some people say leaving off autobrightness turned off will help battery life and some say leaving it turned on is better for battery performance. I'm not sure who is right but you might try it both ways and see if one is better for you.
I've tried most of those things and they don't seem to help.
I'm in an area with lte but coverage is spotty at work. Could that be what is mainly killing the battery?

There is no normal, everyone has different setups, different apps, and different lifestyles. If you're saying the screen has been on for 41 minutes, that seems ok.

Indeed. You need to run Watchdog or something similar to find out which app or process is gobbling up your CPU/battery consumption. More info you give, the more the community can try to help...

Weird man. Never heard of it.
However what you can do is isolate when it happens.
Is it there on boot up?
When did it start?
What had you previously installed when it started?
Start with the latest app you installed, and start freezing/deleting apps until the process stops. I can almost guarantee you its an app you have installed. just got to figure out which one it is. Let us know what you find!

For now it disappeared after a full charge but I think I know what app it could have been. A app call data switcher to enable or disable my mobile data to save battery so I don't know why it would use so much?

The rild, if I'm not mistaken, is the radio layer or telephony interface/stack. What system version are you on, 2.3.5 or 2.3.6? Rooted, rom, etc?
rild includes the following packages: (?)
Sim Toolkit
com.motorola.phoneaddons
com.motorola.hiddenmenu
ConnMO
Programming Menu
Phone
Dialer Storage
com.motorola.setupwizard.phoneservice
Orientation Notifier
Have you tried factory reset and run stock 2.3.6 (no apps) and see if you're still having the same battery consumption?

What were you doing all day on your device when it started to happen?
Sent from my MB865 using xda premium
Well it's an app, thats for sure. Could it be an antivirus program you use? And this is it's realtime protection that constantly runs in the background or something like that?
Sent from my ME865 using XDA
I had this same issue with my new Atrix 2 (running 2.3.6 and rooted). RXNDRV seems to be related to a service named "Rx Networks PGPS Seed Downloader", which per their website seems to be an app that downloads A-GPS data weekly. For some reason it's chewing up a ton of CPU time on my phone and using more battery than any other application. I disabled it and the battery issues went away.
i use a app called apptraffic free. it monitors wifi and mobile seperately. its helped me when i had a rouge app taking over.
Me too. Atrix. Sigh.
Atrix, brand new w/ AT&T, NOT rooted. Android 2.3.6
All you have to do is google "RxNDrv" and you come up with Atrix users.
It is not regular. My phone might be fine for a couple days, then one day RxNDrv will go for a drive and kill my battery in a matter of hours, and do that every day... then stop. It's. Really. Aggravating.
RxNDrv is a driver related to the gps function along TIDrv

Hey so I know I'll get crap for another battery post but I just wanted to post this because I'm amazed whenever someone on Any rom gets a full day or more of battery. It's ridiculous how much mobile data drains on ANY rom for me. I'm running aokp 9/9 right now but I've been through cm9, cm10, vincoms rom, sky ics, paranoid. No differences really it's just data that drains. Here is today's battery, and this is normal when it's mobile data the whole way through. Mostly H, H+, and 4g. As you can see, u have pretty good reception, and screen on for only 2 HOURS. that's why it amazes me when people get 5-7 hrs screen and like a day+ of battery.

Also if anyone got the new aokp rom before R4ins got pissed, I'd love to get a link. Thanks!
Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
2 hours screen time sounds about right for me til the battery runs down. But I tend to only use that much in a whole day, so it lasts me to the next day... even on LTE. I'm using SkyICS.
You sure you don't have any funky wakelocks or anything? Your phone was awake for pretty much the whole time It should be sleeping most of the times that you're not using it.
there are days where i can get 16 hours with an hour or 2 of screen time, but i also have the Gnex extended batter (2100 mah) so that helps. But ive come to realize that on most days, i will never ever see the stellar results that some people get, becasue i use my phone... a lot... im talking twitter constantly, hundreds of texts every day, and the occasional phone call. But it is fine for me, ive never had my phone die on me while im out, and im almost always near a charger so it is never a problem. If i feel like i might be away from a charger for a while, i turn off sync, turn brightness down, etc to prolong my battery life and im good to go.

That image doesn't show wifi causing a wakelock? Unless you actually didn't have wifi turned on for the past 4 hours. I see it's not turned on in that image, but maybe you just turned if off. Which I'm betting you did about 2 minutes before taking that picture, and then turned data back on?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2
There are plenty other battery life threads this post could have been made in. Locked
So I've been in a war against wakelocks for some time now. Unfortunately, I'm losing, so I'm here to find some assistance. I know the Skyrocket is plagued by battery issues, so improvement (not perfection) is the goal.
I'm currently running the latest stable SlimROM 4.3 build. Currently, my battery drain is 9.2% per hour with limited usage. I have Gsam and BBS installed. The issue has followed my phone and persists across ROMs. I am meticulous with my installation process, ensuring that data, ROM, cache, and dalvik are all wiped multiple times. My recovery is the latest CWM.
I'll upload images below if I'm able (low post count and whatnot).
Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I'm an idiot, never mind.
If you have the same drain on stock ROM too, then there are 2 options:
1) Your cellular reception is bad.
2) Your battery is bad (or just not original - which in batteries is almost always the same).
I think you're looking in all the wrong places.

This is what you need
Default Maintenance Build
After talking with Scott about some Infuse issues there was only one memory related change between 4.2.2 and 4.3.x. I was advised to remove this change and rebuild and test. Myself and a couple others have been running this build for the last few days and it seems to me that there is definitely an improvement.
BeanStalk-4.3.1015-20131104-infuse4g.zip - 177.07 MB
There are no new Beanstalk features in this build, it is basically the same one you are running now with the one memory related change but I would still do a full wipe before flashing.
Thanks to Scott for the advice, don't forget to show your love to scott.hart.bti and donate to his diaper fund.
.....almost forgot, I put CWM v6.0.4.4 in this build
