[Q] help with my battery performance? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Can anyone look at these screenshots and advise me on how I can get better performance from my battery? I just flashed SkyICS (latest version) hoping to get better performance from my battery, but it doesn't seem to help. This is with what I would consider medium to heavy usage. I used my phone most of the day to browse the web and check facebook.
Any ideas?

Yeah a bigger battery and some fairy dust

That's with an extended battery....

Bro heavy users like you and me can only get by by keeping a charger on hand undervolting underclocking
Edit: but 4.0 rom's don't have custom kernels yet
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2

Looks like the screen has been on for at least 4 hours. All you can really do is underclock it and freeze all the stuff you don't use.

Guess I will research how to underclock.... any good starting points?

You can't if your on ics

I prefer no frills cpu. It will report the wrong settings when the toast pops up, but if you check cpu spy you will see it's working

Here's a couple basic and obvious tips and you might already know this, but no one has mentioned it yet in this thread so...
Turn wifi off when there are no wifi networks to join, but I've heard not to let it sleep when you are wifi connected.
Leave bluetooth and gps off when not using it. I don't let allow any of google's location services to run in the background myself. Not sure how well that helps the battery though.
Some people say leaving off autobrightness turned off will help battery life and some say leaving it turned on is better for battery performance. I'm not sure who is right but you might try it both ways and see if one is better for you.

I've tried most of those things and they don't seem to help.
I'm in an area with lte but coverage is spotty at work. Could that be what is mainly killing the battery?

This is impressive battery life, if I may ask, what ROM are you using?

88% after 41 minutes of checking facebook and Google Reader? Is that normal? On wifi I should add...

There is no normal, everyone has different setups, different apps, and different lifestyles. If you're saying the screen has been on for 41 minutes, that seems ok.

Thanks for the help everyone. I guess I'll just keep chargers handy

JuiceDefender profile

Hey everyone, I'm attaching my JuiceDefender profile which you can restore. In order for this to work you need the following:
JuiceDefender ultimate
A kernel that has OC capabilities
Root
On order to restore the file into JuiceDefender, extract the zip file into /sdcard/Download and then open JuiceDefender ultimate and hit restore.
Make sure that you backup your existing backup incase your phone doesn't like my backup. Hopefully this works as I haven't tried it across phones.
Share your results below, I have had pretty good results with this profile, lasts me quite a bit of time.
I'd like to note that prior to installing JuiceDefender, I had globally undervolted by 100mV. This is recommend for everyone who wants to go a bit beyond. Also, I encourage you to share your profiles if you feel they will help others.
What were your battery stats? Mine was at 1.9x batter saved and fluctuated between 1.8-2.1x depending on when my last charge was
After a days work: Off charger at ~9am, texting the GF, Facebook, random calls, moderate internet use, ect... I was still 50% battery
*edit* also running DJ-ICS overclocked at 1.72ghz

Moderate/high... I described it in detail on my other battery thread but realistically, I only aim to make my phone last until I reach home so sometimes I just abuse the battery for the hell of it.

Juice Defender Ultimate has done wonders for me as well. I have pretty heavy usage from day-to-day so it has really come in handy. I'm running Sky ICS speed 7.4 with Faux 0.0.9u kernal. I attached a few screenshots:
I've been off charger since 4:30 pm yesterday (currently 8AM here)
These are my stats
As you can see I'm sitting at just over 71%, and that is with pretty heavy usage from about 5-11pm, and then sleep from 11-5 and then again with the usage.

Have you tried a different rom? That one should have pretty good battery life though. If you are doing EVERY single thing that, that thread suggests.. you should be able to have your battery last for a week.. He takes it to the extreme. VERY well done though.

you may have a bad flash...occasionally a reflash may fix it if you haven't tried.

So you had airplane mode on 100% of the time? (That's what it looks like to me, sorry if I'm wrong, I'm slightly color blind with blues and greens).
How is it if you keep cell service on?

Might be a good idea to set your wifi sleep policy to never. Would help squeeze just a liiiittle more out. Settings>wifi>option haptic>advanced>stay on while in sleep>never.
Still fairly impressive with that much screen time though.

Just a word of advice, lithium ion battery have a dry cell problem when they are repeatedly drained past 15%.
This means that your overall battery capacity is reduced when you keep draining it like this. The usage is fine though I'd say.

Your anecdotal experience isn't the rule of thumb. YOU are having a problem, not the FW package.

Although your intentions aren't meant to be a best of thread it is... no one can really judge a ROM Based on YOUR use...
So you need to try it out on your own and check battery help thread it will help a lot...

i've had my 727 for about a year now with multiple flashes. if in deep sleep, battery life is VERY good, i'm talking 2-4% attrition an hour tops. but under usage, 15 minutes will drop me 7-10% depending on what i'm doing. does anyone have this same issue?

Sounds about right for me then. There is definitely some battery capacity loss as it drains a bit faster than a year ago.
i leave LTE on at all times, brightness between low and auto, and my total screen time will be around 1.5-2 hours max.

the only way to get above 2 hours onscreen time is to heavily under volt, -75mV or above if u can. if you aren't already, you're missing out. Battery gains for no performance loss.

I just wanted to say that I installed TFQ Lightning zap kernel on top of vincoms SUPERLITE, and used his recommended underclock / undervolt / governor / io settings. I will report back in a few days once I've had a few runs with this setting.
super lite is a good, stable ROM, no bells and whistles, only what u need for a dd. lightning kernel is stable, and I recommend either voltage control or incredicontrol.

Im using Mohans latest Embryo 6.1 and tried both of the voltage controls you referred to and incdredicontrol gave me messages that stated there was a conflict with the kernel. I Installed voltage control but it appears the minimum I can set it is 192 mhz which is the same settings in the performance tweeks portion of the rom. I read earlier that it could be taken as low as 75. Any idea what I might be overlooking.
