Lol I'm on nexusmod gb and I've never had battery this good. I've been using wifi all day and I have 47% remaining after 12 hours of use.
Edit: display was on for 2 hours and 10 minutes total.

Remember it depends alot on kernel CPU clocks and most of all screen on time

Im running silvermods 4/20 build qith modem flash, No oc/uv, and default kernel with rom and my screwn on time was 4 hours and 38 minutes.

Dang, that's really nice for so much screen time.
So you had airplane mode on 100% of the time? (That's what it looks like to me, sorry if I'm wrong, I'm slightly color blind with blues and greens).
How is it if you keep cell service on?

Might be a good idea to set your wifi sleep policy to never. Would help squeeze just a liiiittle more out. Settings>wifi>option haptic>advanced>stay on while in sleep>never.
Still fairly impressive with that much screen time though.

Just a word of advice, lithium ion battery have a dry cell problem when they are repeatedly drained past 15%.
This means that your overall battery capacity is reduced when you keep draining it like this. The usage is fine though I'd say.

My battery life has been awesome! Going on 11hrs with medium usage and still at 73%.
I also noticed with stock and other ROM's, at night when phone was in an idle state I'd get up the next morning and battery had dropped anywhere from 20% - 25%; this morning after ICS install it had only dropped 3%, so much improvements in my case.
Well maybe I'm just a battery whore lol romracer needs to hurry up and make a kernel his always gives me long battery
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
You don't have to freeze, you can pretty much disable most of the bloat in the settings. I just hid the rest which is very little at that point.
But without doing that to begin with, my battery life was much better the moment I switched to ICS.
Won't even last a night with my after flashing last night.
Getting so much errors even after multiple resets.
Nice to have it now, but it need to be a little bit more stable for me to continue to use on a regular basis.

[Q] Display using battery [solved?]

Has anyone ever heard of an instance where the display drains the battery while off? 4 hrs on battery, display using 54%, all others using 4% or less, and display off 85% of the time. 20% remaining.
Just curious. Probably gonna GR then reflash
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
Your display is always going to use a large portion of battery. Being on battery for only 4 hours may be misleading. Let your phone run through most of the charge and check again.
As you continue to use it, other apps and services will contribute to battery drainage, in turn lowering the percentage of juice shown used by your display.
Im not trying to imply you are wrong. You may have an issue, and I could be way off base. Just something to think about.
Edit: I re-read your post. It ran through 80% of your battery in 4 hours with minimal use?

Thanks. I was actually just seeing if this has ever happened to anyone before. There has to be something wrong. Just a one day fluke I guess cause today it seems to be going ok so far. I'm just gonna start from scratch and try again.
Tried to thank you for responding, but alas, I am limited to 8 per day. I'll get you tomorrow.
My display also drains a large portion of my battery, but never THAT much. Is your brightness really high at all times? If so, turn it down.

Your battery dies really fast while display is off?
The day I posted it was dying super fast. I have not changed anything and it seems to be better but still draining pretty fast. Running better batt stats app for a few days to see if I can catch what's doing it.
Someone in anton's kernel thread said that the first few charges went great but all of a sudden it's draining fast. This is what happened to me. I'll report back what I find out with the app.

[Q] help with my battery performance?

Can anyone look at these screenshots and advise me on how I can get better performance from my battery? I just flashed SkyICS (latest version) hoping to get better performance from my battery, but it doesn't seem to help. This is with what I would consider medium to heavy usage. I used my phone most of the day to browse the web and check facebook.
Any ideas?
Yeah a bigger battery and some fairy dust

Looks like the screen has been on for at least 4 hours. All you can really do is underclock it and freeze all the stuff you don't use.
Guess I will research how to underclock.... any good starting points?

I prefer no frills cpu. It will report the wrong settings when the toast pops up, but if you check cpu spy you will see it's working
Here's a couple basic and obvious tips and you might already know this, but no one has mentioned it yet in this thread so...
Turn wifi off when there are no wifi networks to join, but I've heard not to let it sleep when you are wifi connected.
Leave bluetooth and gps off when not using it. I don't let allow any of google's location services to run in the background myself. Not sure how well that helps the battery though.
Some people say leaving off autobrightness turned off will help battery life and some say leaving it turned on is better for battery performance. I'm not sure who is right but you might try it both ways and see if one is better for you.
I've tried most of those things and they don't seem to help.
I'm in an area with lte but coverage is spotty at work. Could that be what is mainly killing the battery?

88% after 41 minutes of checking facebook and Google Reader? Is that normal? On wifi I should add...

There is no normal, everyone has different setups, different apps, and different lifestyles. If you're saying the screen has been on for 41 minutes, that seems ok.
Thanks for the help everyone. I guess I'll just keep chargers handy

Battery life on LTE

Hey so I know I'll get crap for another battery post but I just wanted to post this because I'm amazed whenever someone on Any rom gets a full day or more of battery. It's ridiculous how much mobile data drains on ANY rom for me. I'm running aokp 9/9 right now but I've been through cm9, cm10, vincoms rom, sky ics, paranoid. No differences really it's just data that drains. Here is today's battery, and this is normal when it's mobile data the whole way through. Mostly H, H+, and 4g. As you can see, u have pretty good reception, and screen on for only 2 HOURS. that's why it amazes me when people get 5-7 hrs screen and like a day+ of battery.
Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
Also if anyone got the new aokp rom before R4ins got pissed, I'd love to get a link. Thanks!
Sent from my SGH-I727 using xda app-developers app
2 hours screen time sounds about right for me til the battery runs down. But I tend to only use that much in a whole day, so it lasts me to the next day... even on LTE. I'm using SkyICS.
You sure you don't have any funky wakelocks or anything? Your phone was awake for pretty much the whole time It should be sleeping most of the times that you're not using it.
there are days where i can get 16 hours with an hour or 2 of screen time, but i also have the Gnex extended batter (2100 mah) so that helps. But ive come to realize that on most days, i will never ever see the stellar results that some people get, becasue i use my phone... a lot... im talking twitter constantly, hundreds of texts every day, and the occasional phone call. But it is fine for me, ive never had my phone die on me while im out, and im almost always near a charger so it is never a problem. If i feel like i might be away from a charger for a while, i turn off sync, turn brightness down, etc to prolong my battery life and im good to go.

Hwres an update. On this is with data off almost all day you can see the screen off and awake matches up pretty nicely.(at the end I'm listening to music so that's why its awake) is it possibly just straight up the data connection that keeps my phone awake?

That image doesn't show wifi causing a wakelock? Unless you actually didn't have wifi turned on for the past 4 hours. I see it's not turned on in that image, but maybe you just turned if off. Which I'm betting you did about 2 minutes before taking that picture, and then turned data back on?

Haha nope not quite we mean like tap the "screen" entry so we can see how many hours of screen-on time you've had, and also possibly tap the usage graph then it shows when your phone was awake, when WiFi was on/off, when it was charging etc.

As much as I do like the phone. I'm quite annoyed at the battery life and am thinking of ways to improve it and etc. but it doesn't seem to be working. I get like 8 hours and by then it's at 30% MAX. Usually around like 20 or so. 10 hours and it's pretty much dead. Am I doing something wrong? my screen is only on for about an hour and a half or so, maybe 2 hours. Lowest brightness setting, 4g off, 2g on, wifi on.. that's about it. I mean as much as I love HTC, I can't love this battery life...

Well this is what I got.
This was back on CM. That rom game amazing batt life.
I don't have the screen time pic but it was just over 4 hours. Still had 1/5 of the battery left too! With this phone I just leave gps, wifi, antenna and sync on. It's so rare for me to NOT last a full day that I see no point in being conservative about use anymore.
