[MOD] Sony Bravia Engine - Galaxy Note II Android Development

Hello,
I found this searching the web for Sony's Bravia Engine for our Note 2:
Sony Bravia Engine for Note 2
I also saw that it should be included in the latest Crash Rom!
Could anyone confirm that
a) it's working and
b) it has a real effect?
Best regards
cool400

yes, this sounds interesting. Can anyone confirm?

why don't you try? ^^
faster than creating a thread about it ah ah
IMO it's placebo effect, tested on S3 and Sensation but never saw a difference
PS gonna test it on Omega 7.2. I'll report later

As to the demo picture the photo turns more vivid, satured with the Sony Bravia on, which is the strong point of the AMOLED display.
That's why the difference is not that visible
What is bad? The bad thing is that you don't see the true colors of the picture, the picture in your mobile device will be better than it is in real. Not good for the photography guys.
PS: Oh and btw this topic should be in the MODS forum section, not in this forum one :fingers-crossed:

HI
i flashed this. it's working without any issue
i felt like it increased some sharpness on video and photo..we will feel more depth on videos
Thanks

[APP] Burst Camera

i found this app while surfing, by installing this app we can have burst shooting feature of SGS3 or OneX. this app have some limitations as it takes snaps on high speed pics will lack some details and quality but atleast we can have latest features
app have lite and paid versions.
LITE:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spritefish.fastburstcameralite
PAID: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...wiY29tLnNwcml0ZWZpc2guZmFzdGJ1cnN0Y2FtZXJhIl0
I'm already using this & thought most of people here would know about it.
With Super Video, Fast Burst & Smart Stay port Apps we can have some major features in S3 albeit with some limitations.
When ICS releases then we can have S Voice, TouchWiz UX(for those who are interested), etc.
Cheers !
but smart stay is still not working with sgr
and ICS is still far from our device.

[TIP]i9505 - Record slow motion videos in 720p instead of 800x450

In another thread, we found out that you simply need to add the SamsungCamera2.apk from the i9500 to the system/app directory (needs root) of your i9505, and the option to record in 720p is there, and it seems to be working
I thought this might be useful to many people who probably won't notice the question in the Q&A sub forum.
Here is the link to the thread : Link
And here is the link to my post with the SamsungCamera2.apk I have on my i9500 : Link
EDIT: Thanks to NoOneCanHelpMe for uploading the apk to his dropbox account, here is the link : http://db.tt/bKsin5eS
Please press the "Thanks" button if this post helped you.
Cool thanks for sharing, its also quite funny though they downgraded the I9505 camera software on purpose

Indeed, I wonder why they did that, especially since I think it's the only difference in the camera software on both variants.

I would say for marketing purposes but slowmotion aint that special so I also wonder, could be lazyness also from samsung by not optimizing their software

Yeah, though they didn't even mention the difference, and they even tried to convince people that the i9505 was as good as the i9500 because of the limited availability of the Exynos CPU so they wouldn't feel they got an inferior version, so this goes the wrong way.
I've seen no reviews mentionning that either, only users on xda.
Also, lazyness seems weird too, because instead of using the same version of the camera software on both variants, they went out of their way to implement a difference, which means 2 versions of the software to maintain and update.
So I'm wondering if it was because of the performance? Is the FPS the same on the i9505 when using 720p? or does it become more choppy?

Ok, that explains it then
So while this "mod" allows us to record slow motion in 720p... it does so at the expense of fps?
Doesn't really seem to be that useful then
Isn't it possible to force the camera to record at the same 120/60 fps ? :/
Mayb its due to limitations of emor-r sensor on i9505 over exmor-rs on i9500
Dont bash me..but this seems 2 b the reason for the lower camera quality on i9505..
Even there r some reviewers too who thinks the same...

Indeed, this is a lot more choppy than on the i9500.. I guess that's why they downgraded the i9505's camera software..
So I am guess it's either the different sensor or slower cpu/gpu.

Yeah, my guess is Chip optimization. The i9500 camera software is not optimized for the i9505 chipset. I'm referring to the CPU chipset and not the sensor module.

[MOD][PORT] Sony BRAVIA Engine 3

Sony BRAVIA Engine 3 Ported To The Galaxy S4
ALL MODELS
The Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine 3 is a video enhancement program for Sony phones. It uses filters and algorithms to create a clearer and more contrasted picture and an overall smoother experience. This is perfect for the Note II's huge HD screen but can be a little to saturated for people like photographers who want to see how the photo looks exactly with out any enhancements. The change is not huge but is definitely noticeable if two devices are compared. This program is very light weight and works with all models of the Note II so far.
Quote:
While the latest BRAVIA ENGINE 3 builds on tried and tested BRAVIA ENGINE technology, it does so with the advantage of a new picture processing software.
This new technology has allowed BRAVIA ENGINE to improve - even in respect to its own dazzling performance:
Contrast. Increased depth and clarity, as well as new light control technology to control peak brightness levels, means stunning images even on the brightest of scenes.
Colours. New colour histogram technology detects and optimises overall colour distribution of each frame. This technology delivers breathtaking colour by making millions of improvements to each frame before you even see it.
Detail. Advanced Noise Reduction lies behind BRAVIA’s ability to show you every blade of grass on a football pitch and really put you at the heart of the action.

No there is no toggle to on/off. Only sony devices has the toggle. But this mod works and it's not placebo. Yu can compare with your friend's galaxy 4 for the same pictures under full brightness.

Hey Bro!!
Sony Is Known For Sound And Camera!!!
And Sony Advertised This Mobile By Saying Camera For Experts!!
Thus, It Confirms That Camera Issues Are Not Hardware Issues But Software Ones!!!
So, Wait For The Updates!!!
Sony Has Improved Their Update Services!!!
So Just Wait!!
STOP THIS!
I am no camera freak and I didn't noticed any difference between 2.17 and 1.36.I really believe that 2.17 is better due to video not lagging in low light(even if there was a fix on 1.36,it's more comforting this way).I didn't noticed any differences between photos and I don't waste my time looking for the issues. The only things that annoys me are low light photos & video "flashing" in some specific light conditions. But I accepted it,I know I can't do **** about it and I'm waiting for devs to create other android platform based roms or Sony to update our phone and hope it will get better.
So,stop this. The camera is the way it is and some settings won't do any magic and bang, the camera will work as you wish.
