[Q] Nandroid Backup Freezes. Help?

Hi all,
I'm having some problems doing a Nandroid Backup in CWM.
I go into Rom Manager and reboot to recovery.
I select Backup/Restore and run a backup before attempting to flash a new rom.
I get all the way to Backing up Data... And it Freezes about halfway through. It happened yesterday and today.
I'm running Stock Rooted 2.2.2.
Can anyone help?
Did you wipe first? I always do before restoring a nandroid and haven't seen any issues.

Jb v4 unofficial back to ics

I'm currently on jb and I'm trying to go back to ICS. But every time I try to flash it I get stuck on the boot image? Do I have to flash ICS boot loaders?

Are you trying to restore a nandroid backup or just install an ics ROM? Which ROM are you trying to go to?
I went from JB back to slim and remics. I had to make sure I wiped everything, and I did a fresh install instead of a restore.
When moving from a newer rom to an older rom you usually have to flash twice. In your case once from the JB CWM and then again from the ICS CWM.
I had same problem. I do full wipes and flash ICS.

I made it so:
1) Flashed Semaphore ICS kernel with Odin
2) Viped data and cache
3) Restored nandroid backup with Semaphore CWM
4) Restored apps with Titanium backup

You cannot restore a ROM of a different version of android than the one you are running.

It mean that i should first flash 4.0.3 than restore the stock rom

check this "funbook gizmolord" website... goggle that words and check the website...
The way you're stating things is off, so I'm assuming you mean you created a Nandroid before flashing the new Rom? If so then yes, just wipe data, wipe cache, format and remount system and then re-flash the stock Rom by whatever method your devices uses.

Backup by cmw recovery not restoring

I made a backup of sense 4.0 rom build 2 using cyanamod with my apps installed using cmw recovery.. Then I flased JB rom and then after 10 minutes when I tried to restore the backup using cyamod recovery it said md5 mismatched and backup is not restoring now with this error.. Any solutions??
Again copy the backup to sdcard by removing the one already there. It seems some file is not matching

It won't work since you are flashing a different Rom
If you were using cyanogenmod before flashing it with CM10 it would have worked!
Since you were using sense 4.0 previously your backup won't work with CM rom

Clockwork Mod 14.4.6 Backup Problem

Hi people. So before I try to flash a rom I would make a backup of my rom which is Embryo 6.1. I would probably go back to embryo after flashing a new rom like jellybam and when I try to restore it, it gives me an error when restoring the system. It would say error when restoring /system. I would have to restore a backup from an older clockwork mod and reflash embryo. I have tried reflashing clockwork mod but that didn't work. I also tried toggling /preload in misc nandroid settings but it still didn't work. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks in advance

You shouldn't be using outdated recoveries and if it is a recovery issue your should reflash the recovery...

I'm using the latest Clockwork Mod and I did reflash the latest one.
Ask inside the recovery thread ...
could be a bad backup. I've had it happen before with TWRP.
I've tried to backup multiple times. When I restore the backup, it gives me the same error

Make sure the recovery isn't looking for a md5 if you didn't create one in the back up.
