2.int2ext for cm10 its on the dev section
3.yes.
4.your phone might get hot from too much playing
5. for me yes(but ive only tried sense from stock rom dont know about custom ones)
6. none as of now kernel dont have built in overclock module
7.There is pa already and battery life is at minimal which can last for the day
Explorer is the best... it runs all the HD games without lag. Because it has gpu in addition to 600 MHz CPU. But y didn't you consider Sony tipo?

1) Try installing a TWRP touch recovery... Cause the Hardware keys are very disappointing
2) Int2ext int2ext4 int2ext4+ m2sd ... blah blah.. many scripts are available.. Compatible with just about any of the ROMs. ( Be sure to check.. for eg. Sense 4.0a Modded version doesnt support int2ext )
3) All games work like a charm ... The snapdragon GPU is of great help ... If your not satisfied with it.. there are performance tweaks and scripts available in the dev section.. NFS Most Wanted ... Dead Trigger work properly.. at least thats what I have used and tested..
4) Not all the ROMs are totally bug free.. If you want to use it as a daily driver... unlike other device ROMs where you have tons and tons of Devs.. Make sure you have what you need properly working before you flash anything.. And Sense4.0 and CM10 are the latest ROMs here.. Do give them a Try..
5) Sense is laggy esp. the stock Sense... Other ROMs depends upon how you customize your phone.. etc. etc..
6) Not overclockable just as yet.. no kernels available.. 600 MHz Processor is not bad with the 250 MHz GPU Good enough for games
7) P A has been ported by oblikas .. Check out the Dev section.. Battery life is not worth boasting about.. Can last a day with normal activity..
Hope you have good time with the tiny pico and hope you do make up your mind about dev-ing for us.. :good:

It wont run I guess.. I vaguely remember trying to install most wanted.. it didn't work .. got stuck with a white screen... but not sure if my phone was rooted or not. Subway surf was very laggy with Jaggy ROM 3.x.x.. that was based on stock sense so my guess is stock rom unrooted isn't too good for high def games..

Besides 90 mb is good enough for you ? That too its not fully 90. Pre installed system apps (bloatware) take up about 30 of that.. lol.. nowadays my app cache itself goes up to 100 mb within a few hours of normal usage. Can't imagine that with the stock.. this phone is so good cause it has great potential when rooted.
Sent from my HTC Explorer A310e using xda premium
Internal memory is 150 MB in total, when you unbox you will see 111 MB. Subway surfer is smooth in stock. It runs most of the HD games smooth if you don't prefer tipo go for this.

1)You want this for your sis and she is umm noob?
So don't root it.
2) In adb give a command:
pm setInstallLocation 2
This will give plenty of memory as all apps can ba moved to sd !
3)My cousin can play NFS mw on stock unrooted.
And as I remember on unrooted I could play all basic angry birds etc. Lagfree.
4)You need a taskiller arleast once a hour to keep games lagless
5)No, it doesn't lag at all in no ROM, UI never lags but yeah heavy games obviously lag a bit like maxpayne lags a bit....
6)No overclock kernel for now..

Yes with no problems, one thing is getting kinda annoyng because you have to move apps manually, it's easy because app2sd pop's up and is just one touch, but anyway......

I've got a sgs+ I updated to android 2.3.5 from 2.3.3 it improved the overall lagginess abit. I have tried almost everything not too difficult to smoothen things out because I'm not really into custom rom kinda deep stuff. For instance, temple run, lags every 10 secs and I fail. Angry birds? Same thing. My buddy with SGS "classic" does not have any of these kind of problems.

If you want to have a better gaming experience (no lag..) you can either buy a phone with a stronger cpu, or root (which is really easy) and see if there is any custom kernels available for your device. With a custom rom and kernel you can make your phone more powerful than it is by increasing the speeds of your cpu. Phone's that don't have enough power don't play certain games well. I know you said you aren't into roms... It's really not that complicated. There is no way to make your phone more powerful, than to root and install a custom rom and kernel... Hope that helped.

The only problem with that is that the sgs+ has a 1.4ghz processor *COUGH*. its a single core but 1.4 is more than enough for temple run or angry birds. have you checked what programs are in the background? maybe there is a process that is polling every few seconds and lags the phone.

Yeah my phone too can get pretty laggy crashy and unstable when I am using it allot without turning it off.
ICS on my Samsung Gio lagged allot so I had to switch back to an earlyer version which increased my CPU performance by 400%, (however, graphic performance change was almost negligible)
You could also try something like a2sd, if you already have something like that your SDcard might be slow. (I suggest you get some confirmation on this one from more experienced android users before actually going and buying a new one, since I am quite new to this whole android stuff).
Hope I could be of service,
R.
You probably have a lot of apps running at the background. Try installing a 3rd party app manager and end all apps. I mean all. Should work. If not then your phone has a problem. SGS+ SHOULDN'T lag behind the SGS not unless the SGS is rooted.
What is your "better phone for games"? Will it be released for ever?
Buy an iPhone for 0 lag gaming.. Android has some lags.
If you don't want to root and install ROMs then pretty much your only option is to uninstall unnecessary services and apps. Try uninstalling an app, testing the game, and keep uninstalling untill you know which app is possibly the offending one.

do a reboot, and use 3rd party task killer to see what had auto bootup and slowing down ur phone
My dad barely let me root to make a backup before updating. (my phone but still) And then there is warranty, I already have problems with GPS. I'm probably not going to do that. Thanks for trying, thanked.

If u root the thing and want to restore to factory default for warranty purpose, theres always odin. Just few clicks away and your phone is fresh default like its only been minutes its out of factory.

Rebooting helps for some 10 minutes, I really don't want to reboot that often. My phone goes 40-50fps but lags 1/4 seconds every 10 secs. I sometimes get bigger fps drops when playing reckless racing 2. I guess that is for dual core processors, but mostly it runs fairly well apart from those little lags

Sigh...... advanced task killers or any of them are just a pile or **it, they just use up ram, on android we all know theres no way to close all apps, they'll just keep opening anyway and they can't close most apps. It drains your battery and has your processors trying harder with a ram drainage. Absolutely USELESS.

hello
dear user it may occur to you that sometimes when you apply a custom rom to a phone it is now built right for that phone because of all the different specs to that phone so it would be best advised to stick with the set defaults if you don't realy know what you are doind (like me) but also you could try and root is (universil androrot) and then use some programs like memory booster or just un install some apps from your device all together so free up some of the phones memorry.
hope it helped daveveej.
Guys do any of you know why my Desire S Hangs while running GTA3 for like 5 mins while MED settings, and hangs after few seconds on max settings . It looks like something to do with RAM as if its getting full faster or slower, but it would be nice to be able to play it without hangs
BTW i am new to this devise and For the monent i am running official MIUI V4 (newest version) with Tweaked3_7.1-MIUI_StockICS KERNEL at 1400OC-smartass v2-bfq (second day with this phone so its my first setup (hit me to the head if its faulty))

THX for advise . But at these settings it hangs 2 seconds after spawning in-game on med settings, maybe its something to do with freq. of cpu? What is supposed to be most stable FREQ. OC? I am using 1401Mhz maybe its not stable

Oh and btw what's the framerate on mc4 like? By lag I mean bad framerate which causes sluggish rate of fire, makes it feel like I'm playing mc1 lol

Overclocking too high, to the point where data failures start to occur / major heat builds up and causes thermal throttling of the CPU - will cause instabilities, stuttering and lag. I'd guess that you're already at that point.

Hello,
I dont know if Im writting to correct subthread,
I was reading a lot of topics about it..
I bough that phone when it was released and I was happy that I got most powerful smartphone, but then I started playing games on it and everything was bad..
Some super graphic games like Shadowzone, Dead Trigger, Dead Space and Epic Citadel are without even little lag (+30-60FPS), but games like GTA Vice City or today released Dungeon Hunter 4 .. they are un-playable for me on my stock HTC One X even at lowest graphic settings.
I was reading that application on google play will let me boost CPU Frequency and my games will be lag free.
I just need to root my phone download that app boost my cpu freq. and play? Or I need to do anything else or do u have any recommendation for me?
Hows your HTC One X doing for gaming?
Thanks!

I just need to root my phone download that app boost my cpu freq. and play? Or I need to do anything else or do u have any recommendation for me?
Hows your HTC One X doing for gaming?
Thanks!

Heh, my finger catched thank button again instead of reply button!
My advice is to try a gaming kernel like XM kernel.
This guide is also really helpful, every method is available:

Root your device.
Download setCPU or Any other cpu app like the one you gave link of.
In the app choose interactive governor.
This will be helpful. But if you want better performance use gaming boost app, too.
More info available at the link I gave you.
Pretty simple but very helpful.

You can install ota's after root, just do NOT remove any system apps ! And after applying the root with the custom recovery you need to flash back the corresponding STOCK recovery.
When you UNLOCK the bootloader you will be put back to full factory stock, so yes. Nothing will be erased by applying root itself
You can however make backups of the stuff you need from the stock rom with the app called CARBON.
hope this helps you

Please tell me answer for this:
I got HTC One X but games on it are lagging for example Dungeon Hunter 4, Need for speed Most Wanted or other games by Gameloft.. Like Wild Blood etc...
If I root my phone and after that just download that setcpu application and set CPU frequeny to 1GHz will be my games lag-free? I wont do anything else I will just root my phone and download that application and set CPU frequency.
Thanks
The hox goes to 1500 mhz not just a 1000 .... But when all 4 cores are enabled they go up to max 1300 if i recall this right. To get real lag free you can install a custom kernel that allows unlocking the 4 cores to 1500 mhz at the same time.
There are even kernels that go up to 1700 mhz

Well I bough that phone because it was labeled as Most powerfull machine in 2012. It cost me 650 dollar and I though I will run every game on highest setting with lag-free experience .. and whoaa I cant play everygame and almost every third game is lagging on my HOX. I will buy iPhone as next phone really. This is ridicilous.
When its that strong why my HOX cant run these games without lag?
I saw a lot of videos of HOX running GTA Vice city on full graphic without lags and I cant even run it on minimal without frame drops. Why HTC dont include firmware to fix this? Its not in hardware its not in game its about HTC firmware.
Im quite noob in these kernels roms etc.. I dont want to break my phone it was quite expensive for me. I also want to update from oficial HTC server to prevent bricking my phone.
I think its more about the games being unoptimized for the t3 rather than the t3 itself.
Shadowzone used to be one of the games that lagged badly.

I do, and dont think to change soon.
Yes.
Lag.
Even the word sounds so annoying.
LAAAAG.
One way or another, it gets to you.
No matter how many tweaks you have installed, no matter how many mods you have installed.
It gets to you. No matter what ROM you use.
Yes, although I'm sorry to say, even on XboosT the lag very, very slowly, very gradually, sets in. (ABSOLUTELY NO OFFENSE TO DEV. I still love you )
And I go berserk , wanting to throw my phone out the window.
Why?
Till now, in all of the 3 ROMs that I've tried, (Stock .23 CM10, and XboosT) the lag does set in, no matter what you do. Isn't there a solution? I know my phone is low-end, but if it can handle the load(proved by the gr8 just-after-flash performance), why does it LAG?!
Is it just me?
Or are others on the same boat too?
How do you tackle with LAG?

I use cm10 and stock without any lag.[well, stock is almost without any lag]
How do I tackle lag?
Flash pure performances+v6 supercharger+greenify+seeder.
I honestly don't face any lag in cm10 at all.
[In gaming I do,I'm talking about the ui]

Yeah sure, CM10 is good.
But I'm centred around gaming...
I believe you must have noticed that sometimes games run so silky smooth that you could kiss the screen.
But then, out of the blue it lags like hell.
That is what irritates me.

That is because other system apps run in background
Buy greenify pro[donation pack or something] and hibernate a few system apps which take a lot of ram.
That sure will solve the problem.
PS: This is not a gaming phone,so you shouldn't be expecting too much out of it.
Try to use blur cm10 .. It works almost no lag

You lucky, lucky J people.
I get lag only in big games, like GTA Vice City and Asphalt 8. I'm downloading Asphalt 7 right now, to see if it works.
For anti-lag, I OC to 1.3 Ghz, set the governor to performance, allow purging of assets and kernel samepage merging (all this from Settings > Performance in CM10). Then I greenify everything Google and then some other stuff.
I haven't used XBoost for too long (just long enough to know I liked CM better, sorry Xmoose), so I can't comment on how good its gaming performance is.
Another thing - keep all the heavy games in the part of the storage dedicated to apps. That place is extremely fast, comparable to a Class 8 microSD.
What do you expect from a Snapdragon S1 and an Adreno 200? You can install over 9000 placebo-tweaks, but not remove lag because hardware can't handle the games.

Nothing much. Just graphics and performance equivalent to a Nexus device. Any Nexus device.

the irony our snapy s1 (x -j/-e) is better than snapy s2 cause we have a new rev and our adreno200e isnt bad at all , i can play rr3 nearly lagless XD
(cm10 or lxt rom with riches kernel)
https://www.youtube.com/user/MrSlawsi5
Every games I presented on stock or cm10 but not my modyfication
On my modyfication of cm10 everything works much better!!!
Today I bought N.O.V.A 3 from Google Play and everything works perfect, without any lags at all
I'm using my modyfication of CM10 without any tweaks etc.
Bro, ive got a nice solution for your problem
1)Return to stock 11.2.A.0.31
2)Flash the venegeance kernel that have the overclock option to 1.3 GHz
3)Install a RAM Booster like clean master
Thats will help you
If you want a ROM that helps you in gaming her you go http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527939 AlienRom
Nice ROM with many performance tweaks like (ZRam,PurePerformance Gold Edition,Riches Kernel that have overclock to 1.5 GHz  not 1.3 as venegance and etc....)

Well, when I bought this phone, I knew gaming would be hard... And I was right. Even games like Line Runner lag(Line Runner, come on!). Sigh. I don't even care anymore . One thing I've learned from my phone, is patience. This phone was actually meant as a cheap replacement for my S2, which died. Had no warranty anymore, and Samsung gave me 60 bucks, if I sent the phone to them(long story). So yeah, here I am.
I'm thinking of buying an Oppo N1 or a Nexus 5 next month. But I'll see. Until then, I have to live with my little E.
My situation: stock and Link2SD running.
Have a nice day!

It all depends on the things installed on your phone, tweaks will kinda improve performance. But like the other guy said don't expect humongous feats from a crappy S1 processor and another crappy Adreno 200
Xperia J's Successor Xperia L already has S4 Plus Chip with Adreno 305. Ayayay sony
