Install modaco's camera launcher app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.modaco.cameralauncher. The stock rom doesn't have the camera icon visible.

The developer makes a script wich installs the rom. Inside that script he can specify what happens when you install the rom. If the dev of this rom put inside that script the command to wipe the internal memory, that is what your phone will do while installing. So you cannot say it is normal or not.

Ok but 99,99% of user here just flash custom ROM, and alot of custom ROMs have same tweaks.
Others ROM when you instll few tweak get unstable and people complain that the ROM is buggy.
It would be great thing but for people that use stock rom imo.
Or there need to be info about how installing not tested tweaks with rom that they use f**k up they system.
The idea is great for Windows user, where only few of the use custom made windows, and the rest use vanilla version.
But thats my 2 cents.

One thing I would like to warn you is that if Java is your first language, don't learn Java first. I personally learned Java as my first language and it was just hell. I hate Java from the bottom of my soul but I still use it almost every other day >_<. If you need help learning anything or help about it let me know.

Hey did you create this from the original TAR file or from INC's odexed ROM? If you have the original TAR file...any idea if the TAR file is safe to flash? Does it wipe anything? I have copy of it and want to play around but just want to confirm a few things.

Based off Incubus' odexed rom. There is currently no tar available for us to use. Inc or Jucy might have it but as far as I understand they pulled the files from the tar because is was corrupt. If yours copy is not corrupted I would love to get my hand on it.

Great! I like the 4x5 launcher much better than stock.
I am rebuilding this from the source and will be re-uploading this. Only real difference is it will be zipaligned and have the boot sounds.
How is the touchwiz launcher as far as redraws? Are they still frequent?

android system / media is eating up the battery again.
This is running legit and smooth. I kept the VRLHE modem though. Some people are reporting slow upload speeds with the new JB one. And I'm also using the leaked 4.2 keyboard, no problems.

I've used some of the "super wipe" scripts on my phone and had some goofy things happen. I would suggest just using your recovery and reformatting the internal before flashing.
Odex is supposedly quicker... but may come with some odd behaviors down the road. You can always try odex'ing later with an app called 'ODEX ME'. ref: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514576

I uploaded the wrong file. It was missing part of the bootloader. Wont hurt anything but I re-uploaded it with the missing txt files.

I have had this issue I haven't resolved it but it sucks. I tried to install cleaning weeks ago I can't connect to Wi-Fi either. So I just kept stock rooted

I havent had any play store crashes but I am running the Odex Version.
I will test it again on de-odex...

My wifi did connect but hangout apps crashes every time I opened and also Keep app... other than that everything looks fine so far

I'm blind or dumb, because I don't see the Odex file there. It says there are 2 files there, but only the De-Odex shows up.
This is a 99% pure stock Rooted ROM. The kernel is a stock built kernel but NOT the kernel that Verizon put it in that borks WiFi on the unlocked devices. Its a pure stock build from Samsung that I compiled my self.
The ROM has the following features...
Designed for people that did not take the 4.3 OTA update (and locked the device)!
Pure Stock, no mods!
Knox Free!
Rooted with SuperSU by ChainFire
Busybox and init.d support
Recompiled Stock kernel (To avoid the intentional WiFi bug that Verizon put in the ROM).
Removed Software Updater and Verizon CD ROM
Odex or De-Odex!
Notes..
Version 2 fixes exFAT support for those with larger SD cards
No Safe Strap Support at this time
Highly recommend backing up storage due to changes in how Android stores user data!

Yes flashes like normal from recovery. You should wipe and flash matching modem also.

I tested tethering with WiFi Tether Router. Worked fine.

Its stock rooted with no mods, as it states in the Op.
If you pay for hotspot then you will be good to go :good:
As a huge fan of Cleanrom 7 and currently on CM11 4.4.2, I look forward to "Eight" immensely

Anyone else have trouble with messaging? Mine kept force closing. I flashed the AOSP messaging zip and then it worked.
Clean install, wiped everything (including internal by accident).
I didn't mess with it too much, I needed messaging to work, I use two-step verification for Google, I always get my code sent via text.
