Hi. Long time since i logged in here, but my question remains unanswered
I finally upgraded to CM9.1 build #9 in my HTC Explorer. The problem now is that i cannot connect to ad-hoc networks. Tried Connectify but it does not work, nor does any such Virtual Router software. Then i went and tried wpa_supplicant fix but could not find one that is compatible with my phone. I even thought of reverse tether but apparently it does not work too.
Any way thru this? Thanks in advance!
Connectify is working fine...what problem are u getting..

Connectify works if your wifi adapter supports AP mode(hosted network) otherwise it won't help. wpa_supplicant worked fine on stock ROM but unfortunately I didn't manage to get it to work on other ROMs

i just finished rooting my phone but i cant get wifi to work with any rom that i flash, it doesnt work with android revolution and it doesnt work with cyanogen, what could my issue be?

Simply saying "My Wi-Fi doesn't work." is very, very general. Be more specific. What's going on with it specifically?

Are you sure it isn't router related? Do you get an error message or failing to obtain ip address.
Sent from my Inspire 4G or Desire HD or whatever this thing is called via XDA app.
I rebooted and it worked. Running CM 7 nightly 8. Stock Kernel.
it just hangs at optaining ip address and doesnot move from there, also, i got fed up n went back to stock unrooted and it still doesnt work, but it was working before i started all this madness
Do other devices on your network have any trouble accessing the wireless router? What kind of router is it?

does somebody have an idea how to connect the TF101 under JB to an ad-hoc network? Or is somebody working on it at the moment ?
Every fix I tried was either for ICS and did not work at all or was designed for another device and was therefore not able to get an ip (but at least I could see the ad-hoc). Or can I somehow try to share the 3G module via USB? It's a symbian phone if it is important.
We definitely need this in wpa_supplicant.

Has anyone managed to get WIFI tethering working on CM10.2?
I can set up an AP, and devices can connect to it, however they cannot get a connection out to the internet.
I've tried using the standard CM 10.2 method, and a variety of apps, but its just not working.
Sorry to bump this. I really need to get WIFI tethering working. It worked on the stock ROM but I can't get it to work on CM 10.2.
Has anyone got WIFI tethering working on CM 10.2 and if so, can you tell me what you did?

i have a nexus 5.
currently running cyanogenmod cm-11-20140210-SNAPSHOT-M3-hammerhead
my hotspot doesnt work. like my laptop will connect but my phone doesnt send any data to my laptop. my hotspot used to work when i was on stock andriod but on cm it doesnt work. i have tried using my hotspot with other devices but same results they connect to the hotspot but cannot use the internet. does anyone have a solution to this other than just going back to stock and does anyone else have this problem?

You could flash a AOSP based custom rom (many good ones around) and try if that works better, make a nandroid backup of the CM rom so you can revert to it if you want.

I run 4.4.2 023 on my old TF101G (took a while) with the 101G kernel and so far it works great.
I was able to make a 3G connection via PPPWidget and can now download / update everything, even through PlayStore.
One problem remains though. The 101G also served as a hotspot for my laptop at work and easily connected it via its own WIFI Hotspot.
The Hotspot can still be setup and activated in KatKiss, however no other phone or PC in range actually detects it....
What am I missing?

I'm running 4.4.3_29 and seem to be having the same issue. Will try reflashing with the new 4.4.4_30 and try again.
