Hi guys, I received my Phillips Qi charging pad today - thought I'd give this one a try while I wait for the Orb and I didn't really like the look of the alternatives around.
It seems pretty well built, good quality. There is a slight rubbery feel to the top, but from what I've read, not rubbery enough to prevent the Nexus from slipping if you do have the stand at an angle. You can of course have it completely flat which seems a safer option. There is also an LED light on the top to indicate charging.
I haven't been able to try it out unfortunately as I do not have my Nexus as of yet And will not for a few weeks
HEREis a link to the official website. There are also a bunch of pictures there so you can get a better idea of what it is like. The picture below is from another user who has stated that their Nexus works no problem with the charging pad - and it is cheap too!

Also, it comes with a charging sleeve for those people in your family who are unfortunate enough to own an iPhone 4/4s - just throw that out
Definitely need to find a few of these in the US. Subbed.

How cheap are we talking about here?
I tried looking and couldn't find any sellers, anyone else have any luck?
Yeah... I wouldn't mind being able to find one of those, here in the States.
Trying to hold out for the orb, but I really want to try a QI charger, lol. :silly:

+1 i confirm me too i have picked on pearl.de
I just bought one too, I live in the Netherlands and Philips is a brand from the Netherlands, don't expect it to be good available worldwide! It sure is cheap. But I would say the output is a little bit weak. It takes noticeably longer to charge wireless than wired. All with all I can't complain about it with this price

Computerland in the Netherlands now has them on offer for 20 euro, according to their promotional mail.
Sadly, their website is very slow loading, but I do not think they deliver outside the Netherlands, maybe in Belgium.
Thanks, I've ordered somewhere else for 49,99 plus International shipping. How long does it takes to fully charge the battery?

Yeah I noticed their site being slow too, I expect some script is just doing something weird.
I live near one of their shops and I checked their stock from the website, they seem to have plenty. I'll go there tomorrow and get one for myself and maybe for a friend. I'll post my experience with it here when I get one.
If anybody here is interested I could get them and sell them for the price + shipping fee.
Let me know if you are interested. (PM might be best for the thread)

Do u know where to find one on ebay?
Almost a year ago I bought the "Tune Belt AB8" somewhere from eBay for my HTC TyTNII. I think it was designed for the iPhone, but fitted nice for my TyTNII and guess what? It fits the Desire even better!!
The Tune Belt itself is perfect for the job!
http://www.jjbsports.com/run-365-armband-wallet/running/shop/fcp-product/10930
Bought this the other day from JJB, fits the desire perfectly but only without a headphone plugged in. With the headphone plugged in I have to keep the zip open a little on one side, works fine but wont keep the rain off.
Try the xtrememac sportwrap obviously for the IPOD or IPHONE, but the headphones plug in nicely and it fits perfectly. I can even use the screen whilst it is in the strap.
It is nice and comfortable as well. Surprised me a little really I usually dont like things on my arm when I am running. The only thing that did not seem to work perfectly is the little plastic clip that you can wind the extra flex onto it keept unwinding.
This one for the Nexus One ought to do the trick:

I dont think they are rainproof either.
I wish someone would make a Desire specific one.
Anything new on this subject?
I think I'll just need to go for the google Nexus armband that igadgetz make. I might be a bit tight but it's the closest thing to what I'm looking for. Shame as I would really have preferred an armband specific to the exact Desire dimensions.

Firstly, I searched the forum but I surprisingly couldn't find a matching post! I don't think I am the first user to have the following line of thoughts...
The Armani version of our SGS has a stronger stock battery (I assume no cheap china thing), therefore:
1. Does it fit in a regular SGS?
2. Where can I get one? Officially from Samsung?
3. Does anybody already own one?

Good post. I'd like to know this as well...
Good thinking, but has this actually been released yet? I could only find a few vids on the internet and no info on when it was released...
Well, it's hard to say wheter the Armani GS is already out or not, the sources are quite conflicting...
Anyway, I just mailed to Samsung (Samsung Germany to be precise, they have the phone on their site) and I'll let you know as soon as I get a reply!
According to samfirmware it's just an 1500 battery? There is 1 firmware btw , with a weird pit file lol
on the samsung site it is 1650 mAh
http://www.samsung.de/de/Privatkund...T-I9010XKADBT/detail.aspx?atab=specifications
it is german but the number is the same in English
Glad to see a thread on this, I was wondering and kept checking on ebay to see if something pops up but nothing yet so far
A review on a dutch site confirms that the battery fits the standard Galaxy S. It is indeed a 1650mAh battery.
The reply is in the comments:
http://www.mobilecowboys.nl/toestellen/13500
And yes, I do own one It has great build quality and it feels faster than de normal Galaxy S. The only thing bugging me is the Armani logo on the front.
Quadrant score is about 1200 on the stock rom without lagfix or anything. Also, the GPS seems to work outstanding.

Thanks for the info! I just have to believe you as Dutch is barely understandable to me
Where did you buy your Armani GS? Maybe we can order batteries there?
And could you post a picture of the battery so that I have the data for further reference (product code etc.)? Would be highly appreciated!
Sure, no problem. i'll do this later this evening.
I bought mine at a store called "belcompany" in Holland. They sell the Armani version exclusively. I went to get a replacement for my broken Galaxy S and I saw the Armani version and took a chance
http://www.belcompany.nl/Selecteren/Pages/ProductDetail.aspx?pid=p175080_1
The review is very positive. The reviewer states he would rate the phone a bit higher than the standard Galaxy S for buildquality and speed. The phone lacks FM-radio and a front facing camera. But it's not a deal breaker for the reviewer.
I'll upload some pictures tonight
The webshop doesn't seem to offer replacement batteries yet. I could walk by the store tomorrow and ask if there is a possibility to get extra batteries.
Here are the pics I promised.

Thanks a lot!!!! With this information, it should be feasible to track down one of those battaries! I'll check with the stores I usually shop tomorrow! If they cannot provide that battary, I'll contact Belcompany...
Nice wallpaper btw!
You're welcome and good luck with your search
I Attached the wallpaper.
ok, short update! Seems like it is gonna get tougher than I thought to buy that battery
My Austrian shops basically say the same as belcompany, so I'll just post it as an example:
Good afternoon,
Unfortunately we cannot order this new battery from any of our suppliers (yet).
They are not sure if this battery will become available as a separate purchase, or if it will only be available as the standard battery that comes with this newer phone.

yes I paid $8 the install, and if u every have a problem with it they reinstall for free
Maybe its silly of me, but the fact that they charge to install it bothers the hell out if me. The markup on these things is insane so they make good money on it and if i go to ATT, they put it on for free when i buy one from them. Now i know the Zagg is a little more involved in installing, but still, its a simple customer service.

I dont Mind paying for the install, if u ever have a problem they install another one for free. just keep the receipt.
not to mention ATT store don't have the HD Version on the Dry install normal version
I'm unfamiliar with the HD line. What advantage does it have over the regular Zagg sold at AT&T?
how does the zagg hd compare to sgp series?
Not that i doubt you, but im not even showing the HD version available for the HOX on Zaggs site.
And from what i understand the HD line is supposed to have a closer feel to glass than the standard Zagg, so its less rubbery feeling. Also its not supposed to have the orange peel effect because its more clear.

Anyway for anyone else looking, just search USB OTG cable and find yourself a US (or your country) seller to get it shipped quickly. They should generally be under $5 shipped.

Just recieved my OTG cable today, bought the one Myron posted off Amazon, but though a different seller so didn't ship from Hong Kong. Only issue is that it wouldn't fit with the case on (I have the Speck Candyshell Grip), but it looks like most of them I've seen so far wouldn't fit either. If anyone knows of an OTG cable with a smaller MicroUSB end that might work, I would love to know!

I was about as close as I could have come to changing carriers. Was on the phone with retention, they cut me a deal on my bill and made it possible to get the upgrade for $99 (with the Best Buy trade-in) and I didn't lose my upgrade for next month, so I stayed for another two years.

I guess we just get effed over here in the US. I'm on Verizon, not only is the phone not released yet but early unboxings on youtube show that they removed the headphones as well. On top of that they removed the Samsung browser completely, if I didn't have unlimted data and 25% discount from my job I'd leave asap.

I think I have done well here! £150 for my old phone and accessories and I've walked away with a £190 upgrade!

Someone told me that if you bought the Note 4 in store in the UK you could get these headphones too, has anyone managed it?
