Can anyone tell me how to change a build prop within a rom zip file?
Sent from my M860 using xda app-developers app
Unrar zip file, extract build.prop, open in note and then when finished rezip back into rom file...
Or flash rom and then use file explorer to edit build.prop. Go to cwm and clear cache and dalvik then reboot... Should have changes...
It wont let me flash the rom cuz I fot the 8013 & the rom for 8000

Why do I show a bunch of apps in the download folder too?
My bad. Those are ones that I copied there.
What a dummy, I've ben up for 17hrs.
Lol. That's how I get to bro with no sleep. Usually with htc phones anything you download goes to your download folder...except if you download from your HTC mail it will be in downloads folder. If you download from your xda app a file attached to a post it will be in a tapatalk folder. This is your card Im taking about. Any app installed to your phone from the market will be in data/ app
System apps can be installed by flashing or adb push

apk file
I wanted to increase the battery life on my wife's rooted Infuse to increase battery life. I read that faux123's Kernel and script are supposed to be the best and compatible with ALL Samsung Rooted Stock and Custom ROMs
For reference I'm including the links:
Faux's Kernel:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437563
FauxClock app by roman:
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/4550-app09-beta-snapdragon-dual-core-oc-control/page__st__30
My question is where do I put the apk file (FauxClock-0.9.apk):
1. Internal sdcard (sdcard/download)
2. /data/app
3. system/app
Does it even matter where I put that apk file? Thanks for the help.
System/app

If on froyo 2.2 install cwm final by krylon360. Its in the dev section. You can make a backup in cwm recovery.

So how did u apply cwm final manually with update.zip ?
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
If on froyo you have to download the moddified recovery.bin file and use a file explorer app to push it to the system/bin folder. Make sure that the file explorer app is set to r/w so the file sticks. Once you have that then put the update.zip file on your SD card and boot into recovery and hit reinstall packages. You could also Odin the Bali kernel. If in gb Odin one of the modded kernels Dr honk made.

the Bali kernel is a ZIP though, and Odin only does TAR
there is an odin version available. search for it in the development section
wow nice. found it and flashed it. freaking out at my phone telling me in sexy robot chick voice what it's doing. thanks man
Is it possible to get sound for a boot boot animation? For instance I have the r2d2.zip file found here on xda is it possible to somehow match sound with it? Here is the link.

Credit to this goes to bradman117...this is his thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1302476
Sound Instructions
1. Download PowerOn.wav
2. On Root Explorer go to /system/etc and find PowerOn.wav and you can either delete it or add (.bak) after file name. If you dont have it on your phone it should be fine and still work.
3. Past the PowerOn.wav file you downloaded in /system/etc
4. Then reboot and there you go! If you still have some questions or need help here is a link-http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1367645
So get a .wav file or convert an audio file to .wav and rename PowerOn.wav, then put it in /system/etc
Can't confirm this method works and is safe so do it at your own risk (although I don't see how it could cause any serious problems)

I backed up my custom rom via cwm. It produced many files of. Tar extension. I want to flash this rom again how can i use these files to flash the rom

Go to CWM and restore your backup.
Agree with above, if created with CWM then use CWM once again to restore.
Cant it be made a single flashable zip?
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda premium
You have to boot into recovery and use that to restore. It automatically extracts all files and does everything for you.
I think it has to be in /sdcard/clockwordmod/backup/
I think...

Cam anyone help me flash next kernel
I'm on Stock Kernel and Mokee 4.4.2
Make sure and download the proprietary zip as well, it's mentioned in the Next kernel thread. Go into recovery, wipe cache and dalvik, then go into install zip, then wherever you've stored the kernel and proprietary zips, then install the zip. As soon as kernel is done, immediately flash the proprietary zip. Reboot, done!
