[Q] Lg Optimus L9 LG P760 - General Topics

Who should I ask for the addition of the forum of 'lg optimus l9?
specifications:
CPU: OMAP4430 dual-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 architecture Tri-Dual (Dual Core - Dual Channel - Memory Dual)
GPU: PowerVR SGX540.
RAM: 1GB.
OS: Android 4.0.4
is a phone with good specifications to develop new os (Cyanogenmod, MIUI .....)
Please how can I learn to add a forum to my device?

I don't know, but I think that this device really deserves its own forum!
+1 to your request!

I suppose is not so much different to Prada 3.0 phone, maybe you can use same rooting method and same recovery
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/compare/LG-Optimus-L9,LG-Prada-3.0/phones/7459,5758
Same tri-dual platform but different screen, resolution, dpi, camera and battery.
It may be worth an attempt.

A very, very decent phone
It should get quite big support from the users soon.
You should ask here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660354 and maybe your wish will be granted
Of course if other users will follow. I already voted some time ago

[Q] [ASK]armv7

Hi all, I have read many articles that say to be able to use adobe flash player 10.1 you must have armv7 processor, I was wondering,
what's the difference between armv6 and armv7?
Is it possible to modify the armv6 based phone to be able to use that?
wht r phones that use armv7?
thx b4..
Hi and welcome
You can not change the processor, it would be like making your P4 a core i5, I think the difference is in the architecture and the instructions.
However you can check if your phone supports it or not, devices with qualcomm snapdragon should support flash, you can find a comprehensive list of device specs here - pdadb.net

i see, so just the phone with qualcomm snapdragon that will support flash right?
is there any chance the other phone with different processor could do the same?
Because if not, it will affect the price of all entry level android phone in the future and it means we have to buy an expensive android phone to just be able to use flash
The samsungs with the ~1 Ghz CPU will probably support it, as well as tegra and tiomap, just check the particular device you want

No Dual Core Cpu support yet ?

Still can't find any indication that IceCreamSandwich (Android 4.0) supports dual core cpu
http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-4.0-highlights.html
We all know that any kernel already supports smp so it should't take so long for Google to make android OS support it too...
If you find anywhere a clue for that please reply
it should support.
but, this is the wrong section to post this question. The Nexus S isn't dual core. You may get better answers in Android General Questions
You won't find anything about it because dual core support has sort of been there since before 1.0, and really since before android. Linux has been multithreaded pretty much from the beginning, it isn't' something google needs to add to android, its all there. The huge performance boost we'll see with ICS will be from hardware acceleration in the UI, not some magical unicorn dual core support.
The reason all these dual core phones aren't living up to the hype is because the software the OEMs made for them really sucks, its not google or android's fault.
As far as I know IceCream Sandwich DOES support Dual Core CPU's.

Maybe the fact that EVERY SINGLE Honeycomb tablet uses a dual core processor is proof enough...

Just because Android runs on such device does not automatically means that is uses both cpus(cores) for each process. for that to apply we should see threads of an app processes.
so my question remains...

you said the same thing i said ... well, almost ...
I said that Linux support dual core (smp) but there is much more to that.
we should see that the VM actually uses the Linux(Kernel) support managing to provide a correct data to the kernel, so that the process will be threaded (run on both cores)
Can you (or anyone owning a dual core device) provide a proof for that ?
Can we see a process of an app runs on both cores ? (a screenshot from shell showing that it uses both cpus/cores)
also, you should read about SGS2 for example.
even though it has a dual core CPU Android only uses on core to run itself (VM) and apps
so the answer is not that simple as you pointed
and my question remains...
ICS actually supports multi-core cpu's, not just dual. Meaning it supports up to either 4 or 8 cores (I can't remember which)
Add edit: When there are more cores in phones, multiple cores will be used to run (like you said) the apps AND the system. Quad-core phones are supposed to be coming out this summer.

That's funny, considering we're running Android 4.0.3 on our SINGLE-CORE phones. And add the fact that there's a small mod that will change it to the tablet interface, and you've got proof that you dont need 2 cores.
Just because multi-core devices are now standard doesn't mean that ICS 4.0 requires 2 cores. Our phone alone is proof. It's not a different version of Android. ICS on a tablet is the same ICS as on a phone, in a nutshell. That was the whole point of ICS in the first place -- to unify phones and tablets into 1 OS.

Please Suggest A good mobile phone under 300$ or 20,000rs

Hi guys could you suggest me a decent phone with good specifications. I have suggested a few of them though I am really confused between them. The XoloX1000 has an intel 2.0GHz processor whereas the XoloQ1000 has a 1.2Ghz Quard core mediatech processor. Also the Xolo Play has an nvidia tegra 3 processor. I am also looking for xperia l or xperia c. Some people say 1.0Ghz Quallcom processor would be faster than the 1.2Ghz quard core processor. Please suggest the best one amongst the above. Also you can suggest your own best phone within this range
PS A decent GPU would also be necessary
Please quote my lines so that I would be informed as soon as you reply

there is a octacore galaxy s4 but octacores are actually worst than quad/duel cores, so like if a phone is a octacore clocked at 2.3ghz, all the cores would not be clocked at that it would all add up to 2.3ghz most would be at 1.2ghz or 1.5ghz, there really is no point of octacore phones. phones are not yet computers a moto x or LG G2 would be fine.
locomotives scoulfi

Today's octa cores are quad + quad cores. Not true octacores. So if you can wait you should wait till next year. Coz I think they'll make their way to the market by next year. Anyways LG g2 is a nice device. But don't expect it to be updated to anything more than Kitkat.

Hey guys, I need some on trying to find an android phone for about $200. I've already looked up the Moto G and unfortunately it didn't meet up to my total expectations. I am looking for a device that has:
A 4.5 - 5 inch Display with about 720p HD Capabilities and maybe around 250 - 330 PPI.
Dual or Quad Core Processor (Starting from 1.2Ghz and please try not to post any mediatek cpus)
512 - 2GB of Ram
Good internal storage for some apps.
Android OS 4.1.2 - 4.4 KitKat
Good battery life (something that would last for about a day or so)
Stable.. Smooth (No Chinese Generics)
At least some support from the dev. community.
Any help would be much appreciated. thanks!
Sorry guys, there was a device suggestion thread...

well since the moto g is out of the picture, i think one of the many BLU phones would be good for you, i have heard good and bad reports about the battery, most of them have 1g or higher gigs of RAM, its seems that lots of their devices (even with small screens) have a great cpu clocked at 1.5ghz dual core or bigger, i think most of their phones are 4.2 and up. lots of choices with 4.5" and up. as for development support, i think they only have root.

Thanks for the recommendation. Though, I have heard of the blu phone series (life, studio, etc.) but there are many negative reviews on them and the ones that are mostly positive are supposedly framed. So, from what I heard was that some of these BLU labelled phones come DOA, other complaints relate to dead pixels, insta-brick (after a week or so of moderate to heavy usage), unresponsive touchscreens, and of course as you stated, battery life.

I was stuck in the exactly same position. But I also needed a removable battery and an external micro SD card slot. So the moto g was not a good candidate. I ended up going with the optimus f7. It has specs similar to gs3. You should check out the reviews and see what you think.

Ahhh yes, I forgot to include external microsd expansion capabilities. Oh yes and thanks, the F7 may not have good dev support but I guess root access is all I need. All I'm really planning to install is Su, viperfx, and some closed modules. Also btw is it possible to skip the boost mobile activation process?
