I just sold my Vibrant and bought a Nexus S and was wondering if there was another app like Allshare that I could use to stream movies from my PC to my phone.
I really like Allshare cause whenever my wife insisted on watching f'ing Jersey Shore I could allways bust out my phone and choose a movie from my library without have to get off the couch to upload it to my phone.

I'm not sure if we have the DLNA capabilities...I'll look around and see.

Swifta would work great if it would play different types of video files.

So we do have DLNA? I searched around and I couldn't find a definite answer.
Damn I was going to buy the nexus s but I use allshare all the time. Especially when family comes over. I stream the photos and hd home videos to my tv.
Do you think if I took the vibrant version and used it on the nexus it would work?
Dlna needed of course.

Twonky works for me, I stream to my ps3 and the nexus s does have dlna.

iMediaShare brings DLNA capabilities on any Android phone including Nexus S. In addition it also enable playback of online videos as well as sharing personal photos from Facebook and Picasa.
Hmmm.
I tried searching for imediashare (and scanning the QR codes that are on their website) but it's not showing up in my Market....must be a protected app or something.
Oh well.
Damn it. Maybe I could get the imedia apk found some where.

I was able to find Twonky though.

I read on another thread that the Allshare app on the Vibrant is tied into its framework and would have to be modified to work.

Last post is December, so did you guys find a way or did everyone settle with Twonky, Skifta and iMediaShare?
You can stream video with Gmote.
Although the dlna works fine I really wanted the AllShare app to control the TV, anyone know how to get it on the Nexus S or at least why can't we?!
Is there an OS version issue, cause I have downloaded like 3 AllShare apk but none works.
I`m currently using the 2.3.4 version.
Thanks in advance,
BRunohenri
No matter what browser I try to use it keep getting this message
Can anyone suggest a possible solution, thanks.
Running stock ICS.
Edit: it seems that this issue is only with ESPN.com, I played a video on yahoo and no issues.

you don't have flash player
even if you already installed it, it won't work because of ics.
there is one browser who support flash by rendering something on their servers, i don't remember the name but it has a bird on it icon.

If video playback is working on other websites, and reading that error message, then common sense would tell me that ESPN.com has made the conscious decision not to allow their videos to playback on an Android device for whatever reason. Citing that it worked in the past doesn't mean anything because things change.
HULU does the same thing and blocks video content playback on Android.
because some web sites aren't using only flash to broadcast their videos, they are also using html5 with mp4 (i think) the player isn't cool like flash. but it has the basic fonctions.

As in, to output to the TV? Not to my knowledge. But I don't know everything either :silly:
No not for the 7" variety sorry

It just makes me wonder why they wasted the dock connectors on the 7 inch if you can't use them. Should have just put a micro USB on the bottom like most phones.
You could still use DLNA but you will require a tv that supports dlna.
Sent from my GT-P3113 using xda premium
Not sure that will work for netflix and youtube. It does work with video files, picture files and music files.
They have a new DLNA app called Allshare cast. But it only works on these so far. (Galaxy S III, Note II and Note 10.1)

General != Q/A
Hi there!
I have been trying to watch flash videos online from live steaming sites on my S2+ but they keep crashing at start and sometimes the browser closes as well. Tried it out on default browser, dolphin and opera without luck. I can see the flash version installed on my mobile (for instance on http://www.whatismyflash.com/ I presently get flash version 11.1.115.69). I can also see flash animations on several sites - only videos give problems.
I already tried several other flash versions for android 4.0+ from XDA thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2190346 but the crashing problem persists.
Any suggestions?

Oh there's a fix for this ? My chrome never plays video from Daily Motion. Sometimes the app also never works !
Hi guys! Thanks for your replies!
I found out that I can also watch flash videos on certain sites but I still have problems watching live streaming of sport events on sites such as firstrownow.eu ... Maybe it's because the site is full of banners and pop-ups which are hard to close on mobile and end up crashing any of my android browsers (firefox included). On my laptop I have an addblock pluggin that avoids most of these annoying banners and streaming works great... but I can't find a similar add-on for android. Does anybody know a way to block internet banners on android?
Also, could anyone please give some feedback about streaming quality on S2+ from one of the firstrow sites that require flash?
Several firstrow sites with different domains can be found on google. I'm basically interested in being able to occasionally watch live sports on my S2+ (mainly European football) and almost any relevant sport event is streamed live on these firstrow sites

Hmm, am I weird or I don't have that issue? I just watched about 4hrs of YouTube videos (Modern Marvels) but not directly on the phone, just pushed to the TV from the cast thing to my WDTV.
I played a few quick videos on my phone directly too before doing the above and it worked just fine. I do have issues with it on HSPA even though I have 7.5Mbps speeds. Either routing or prepaid carrier slowing down youtube purposely!
