Hi everyone,
Is it possible to update Motorola XT860 to latest Android version using a mod or just forget about it?
Sorry, I couldn't find the mod specific forum or thread for this.
Thanks

Yes! I use cm10, it's android 4.1.2 but maybe i can update to 4.2 already! It's pretty stable, i have overclocked to1.3ghz with a 66vsel(i know, it's very low!) And my batterylife is a day and only one reboot per week!

How what? All you need is to unlock bootloader, flash custom recovery and then you could flash whatever ROM you want.

No there isn't a pure google based rom yet for the oneS . Your best option for now is the cyanogenmod 10 rom, which look very close to stock google.

To sum up what was mentioned...
No, there is not currently a pure, stock, AOSP rom for the 1S. Cyanogenmod 10 is the closest you can get, as it looks and operates the most like stock, however has many additional features (both visual and performance wise). Here is the link to download CM10 for our device http://get.cm/?device=ville .
Note: CM is releasing "nightlies" which means pretty much everyday an updated rom is released to fix or add features. As of right now, the rom works great, however there are some issues with the camera (video camera does not work properly, although there is a fix).
If you have not flashed a rom to your 1S yet, you will have to do quite a bit of research to get it done. This requires unlocking your bootloader through the HTCdev website, and downloading and installing several files before you can install a new rom. This guide can help you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583427 .
Hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions you may have.
BTW, yes Q&A would have been the correct section, but don't sweat it. Brandonrz is apparently disturbed in some manner.
Thread Cleaned And Moved To Q&A
There is no need to go into full flame when a new member makes a small mistake. Flaming another user is far more serious than a new user mistakenly posting in general rather than Q&A. Hey guys,
I have the latest official OTA Update for my HTC One S on Bell.
Version 1.84.666.9
Sense 4.0 instead of 4.1 tmobile version
Android 4.0.3
I do not have the possibility to change the Recent apps button.
I would like to stay on stock rom just to avoid flashing rom updates and deal with glitches.
Should I just wait it out for jellybean or should I change my CID to something else?
Help would be appreciated!
Thanks

What you should do is follow forum rules and post in the right section if you want your question answered. DEVELOPMENT FORUM IS NOT FOR Q&A. THAT'S WHAT THE Q&A SECTION IS FOR! (shocking i know )
Moved To Q&A
I really dont think any more needs to be said.
Realized it just after I posted it and I couldnt find my post anymore.
Sorry bout that!
Can delete this thread.. It's here twice!

I've been reading through the forum and couldn't find exactly what I am looking for. So please help.
I'd firstly like to know what the latest stable version of Android for the Atrix 2 is. Both official and unofficial.
Secondly, I'd like to know if the development of ROMs are active or not.
Thirdly, what are the possibilities of the Atrix 2 getting KitKat?
Thank you all very much.
Regards.
Ron.
I'm glad u were asking this kinda question... According to me the most stable version is jelly bean leak3 but it's kinda old os but search and try the best suitable os for you. We have slim bean 4.3.1 latest version of Android available for our Atrix 2 I'm using it as a daily rom no problems so far except battery backup... Coming to kit kat hascode left developing for our omap devices... If any other developer take over the development we can get 4.4....

Hello All,
I havent been on XDA for quite some time, I used to flash Cyanogen ROMs pretty much daily a few years ago (on my HTC Hero!).
I now have a Nexus 5 and am frustratingly waiting for an Android Lollipop OTA update which hasn't arrived yet! I am tempted to flash a 5.0 ROM, but wanted to ask if by doing so I will stop receiving future OTA updates from google i.e 5.1 whenever its released. Apologies if this is a dumb question... I've been out of the customisation game for a long time!
Thanks
Calico
wrong forum. you posted in development section. this belongs in q/a section. but yes, if you flash a custom rom you will not get otas.

Sorry, hopefully a mod can move it to the correct section
Ahh... that does complicate things. I don't have as much free time as I used to so I may just stick it out and wait for the official OTA.
Thanks for the reply!

Come on guys, dont be so lazy. It was posted in the MM 4.0 thread. So instead of, to create a useless thread in the wrong section you should just open the MM 4.0 thread and read through the last pages!
But it doesn't say if its the new flushable or the old one with the WiFi issues, this is why in was asking here because I want someone to send me a link of the new one, not out of laziness but out of not knowing... Can you please do that?

Having posted the links myself, I can say this is just wrong.
The following text is included with the links showing the source of the news the 6.0 release was rolling again in addition to stating they were for the new release.

I'm looking for it too. Have you found the link?
Hi! I have rooted k1 with MM 1.0 I'm searching a zip with all updates or a completed rom who let me flash via twrp. I search this in all forum and don't get this. Is never clear for me if the updates are for the original shield or for the k1 ones. Is better if I install temasek rom? My battery is very sad, 2h on YouTube and I loss 80% off battery =( Thank you for your help
