Does anybody notice that JB cconsume battery high even more than ICS ..
I am using Team Union Rom 4.1.1 XXBLJ9 DBT v3 ...
For me the biggest reason not to update.
I noticed it on my Galaxy S3 and now again on my note 10.1.
I want best battery life for my tablet, so I think I will stick to ICS, although there are some pretty impressive improvements in Jelly Bean.

I am thinking of getting back to ICS but I will miss JB features
it was like that on my epic 4g touch. i ics worse than GB, JB worse than ICS. i ended up going back to GB with that phone. but my sgn2 has incredible battery life on JB. i'd suppose that on ICS it would be astronomical.
did you tried to deactivate / freeze new "bloatware" like
- new Samsung Syncs
- Google Now
- ...
Batt life is still phenomenal with JB for me, although Google Now is activated and everything is synced. (It´s my main work-tool now)
Clean 11 hrs on HSPA with always on.
Clean 14,5 hrs on WiFi with always on.
I deativate goggle now, snd disable autostart of maps. That helped alot

i feel opposite i mean after installing 4.1.2 version stock or omega rom or android revolution hd v5.1 i feel'd it's much better power manager than i thought!
sorry about the language!
I don't know how the battery life was on ics or gb because as soon as I got it, I upgraded to Jelly Bean.
I am running Android Revolution HD 5.1 and the battery life has been just awesome.
I get around 14 hours with 8-9 hours of screen use and I've never had it go under 10% battery life thus far.
-Keep it at around 10 to 20% brightness, I've never needed more that that.
Don't even have power saving turned on! Also I set it to 30min timeout to sleep if not in use.
The battery life is so great I almost can't believe its this good.

I just installed the Stingray ROM on my XOOM from Peter Alfonso (Thanks Pete) and it is working fine except for some big battery drain. I think the culprit may be the fact that I have a Verizon Xoom. I don't use the Verizon Mobile data and only WIFI.
Does anyone know if the Wingray ROM would work on a 4g XOOM? If I loose the ability to do Mobile Data it won't matter for me since like I mentioned I only use it on WIFI.
If I remember correctly, you can flash the wingray rom.

Awesome idea. I'm in the same boat and turning mobile data off still seems to have a large battery drain, going to give this a shot.
Let me know if this works my battery drains completely in a day

Unfortunately, this did not work for me. After 12 hours (2 hours use + 10 hours screen off) I'm at ~30% with Android OS being the largest consumer at 40% and screen the next largest at 30%. It doesn't appear to be any rogue apps draining battery. I've even used Autostarts to kill a lot of 3rd party apps that try to run in the background at startup.
I'm running a late September CM10 nightly. I feel like the second I upgraded to a Jelly Bean ROM my battery dropped off of a cliff. I might try flashing the rooted OTA Wingray JB ROM and see if there's a battery improvement. If not, I'll try going back to an ICS ROM. If THAT doesn't work... I have no idea.
Yeah I have the same problem and I have had a xoom before and do not remember this problem when I was on ice cream sandwich. I see others with great battery on a JB rom and am wondering what they are doing that I am not? I even have airplane on with wifi and it still loses all power in a day? If a JB rom doesnt work I will go back to a ICS rom.

Last night, I flashed the stock OTA (rooted) Wingray JB ROM. My battery life is back to what I expected. After about a 10 hour overnight sit, it went from 82% to 78%.
[UPDATE][JB]Stock Android 4.1.1 JRO03H, Root, via CWM Recovery (US Wi-Fi MZ604)
link
In order to isolate whether it is the ROM or my apps, I did not restore any of my apps. Now that I know a clean ROM is good on battery I will restore my slew of apps and report back if it results in an excessive battery drain again or not.
Cool, just sucks to have to flash a wingray rom on a 4glte tablet. I had a xoom before and it had the 4glte update applied and the battery life was still decent on a ICS rom. It is just horrible on a JB rom but there are those that swear they have great battery life?

Another update:
I restored all of my apps yesterday and used my Xoom regularly to make sure it had a normal load of 'running' and cached apps. Overnight it went from 53% charge to 48%. At this point, I'm 99% sure that current Stingray JB ROMS are the culprit of battery drain and using a Wingray ROM fixes it.
Can anyone comment on the battery life on the Official AT&T 4.0.4? Battery life is one of the most important necessity of mine. Right now I am on SKY ICS 4.2E with the nexus extended battery and I can go with a full charge from morning 8:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m with moderate usage. The ICS leaks were horrible, so that to back to stock GB. Tried Sky ICS 4.2F but 4.2E was smoother so went back and sticking to Sky ICS 4.2E.
If this official release is too bad on the battery life like the leaks, I am gonna skip and stay on Sky ICS 4.2E for a while.

Check that frequently for more updates. :good:
two days on att ics, fully stock non-rooted... yada yada. day 1 was great got 11 hours with moderate to heavy use (mostly internet, set up, download apps). day 2 sucked, only got about 7 hours of use .... slight to moderate use (some internet, fb, 10 mins of map with gps).
i'm hoping day 2 was a fluke.

I'm impressed with it. I got a solid 12 hours of usage out of it. Playing tunes, texting frequently, downloading apps and what not... Keep in mind, I'm not on an LTE and as such I have it disabled. I've heard it can wreak havoc on battery life.
Can't give an accurate estimate for today, as it was plugged in and floating around 30-50%... But it seems better than GB to me.
What about your screen on time?
Yeah... battery life has been bad for me since I switched from skyics Rodgers edition to att official skyics release. Tried reflashing the rom a couple times but the problem remains. Just gotta wait around now for a solution.

Battery life
My wife and I have the same phone her's is white(stock) mine is black (rooted and using stock rom bloatware is frozen ). I am getting better hours of use with some Words with friends a few calls and a few txt message. I can go day and half before I charge. Wife has to charge nightly and she uses her phone less then I do. I am rooting her phone tonight after work. Both have upgraded to ICS.
My wife has my old Skyrocket now that I have the GSIII..She came from a Cappy to the iPhone to the Skyrocket and she swears by the battery life on her phone and she LIVES on her damn phone...(I do too, I'll admit). She claims it's even better with the firmware upgrade, stock & unrooted..
Stock rooted rogers, with heavy use, I've got a dismal 4-5 hours! But that's scree on & browsing... Good thing I'm close to a charger.......

i didnt like the battery life on the official build so i am using skyics 4.2f6 now with better battery life! Seanzscreams is the best developer for the skyrocket love his work.
for those of you who were like me and had horrible battery life on any of the ICS roms including Sky, i have found a solution i have tested this on 2 roms so far the first being my Daily Driver CM9 Nightlies, and stock ics. i found that for some reason when my phones screen turned off my phone would not go into sleep mode, the fix for me was to run SetCPU app, which i did pay for, and create 1 profile, for screen off, and just change the the cpu max and min speeds to max 540 and min, 192, i found that will keep your notifications coming without any lag, and when you wake the screen it will not be laggy as well. I'm Currently at 13 hours and my battery is at 79% and i played with the market, and surfed the web some, obviously texted a few time as well. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mhuang.overclocking&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5taHVhbmcub3ZlcmNsb2NraW5nIl0.

Pure bone stock phone here (for now), battery life has been pretty good IMO (compared to my Captivate). The other day I was down to ~72% after >15hrs of light use.
As always, YMMV. My theory is that it depends on the apps you have installed, and what version they are. I would get updates to some apps and my battery life would suddenly be different after the update (sometimes better, sometimes worse.)
My gfs on stock has dropped by about 50%. Lte in sf.

Just wondering how much better cm10 really is. Is it noticably faster? Battery? I still have stock and have never rooted yet. Im kinda waiting for a fully stable rom. Any input would be appreciated!
IMHO CM10 is a bit faster and gives better battery life but is not as stable. You'll encounter some random reboots and maybe some freezing that will force you to pull the battery. CM10 offers much more in the way of customization as well. There are several features you can play with in the system setting menus. If WiFi calling is important to you then you'll want to stick with stock as it's not available (yet?) in CM10.
I'd love to know how you get better battery, I've gone back to 4.0.4 from Jellybean because of horrific battery life. Seems to drain crazy fast.

Me too. Seems as the updates progress the battery life gets worse. 2.2 was the best for me on my Vibrant. Could go over a day without charging. Now on stock ICS on my blaze I get maybe 10 hours with nothing synced and barely touching my phone all day. Sucks! And I have a stronger battery.
Interesting, I seem to be getting about the same if not better battery life in CM10 than I was in stock rooted GB.

I used to get about 24hours on my international version S4 running ICS while running a 3G connection, and a good amount of screen usage.
Ever since the JB update(i updated within 2 days of its release), battery life dropped to 9 hours max, and it has been incredibly difficult to live it.
I switched to TrickDroid 9.1 hoping for better battery life. I then turned off Google Now permanently but i am still not getting more than 9 hours of battery life.
Has my battery been spoilt completely? Has its life reduced because ive been running jelllybean for so long now ? Is there anything i can do to fix this ? Or has this got something to do with Sense 4+ ?

I got this phone (S3) with Jb already installed in it, so dont know the difference in battery timings with ICS or JB. But one thing is sure the battery life of this phone (seems with Jb, coz i read the same thing on some other forums as well) is quite poor. I also get less time on battery. Though i have auto sync on for some accounts like gmail, but still battery time shd not be that poor. Hopefully it will be resolved in some next updates. :S
Also i m facing sound issue (posted in other thread in this forum with Jb). Dont know whether this sound issue is only with few handsets or with all One S (having Jb).

What might be a solution for you both is installing a custom kernel
I'm running dark jelly cm10.1 rom in combination with bubba kernel v2.7, and with the right settings I get awesome battery life.
I can really reccomend switching to aosp rom like dark jelly in combo with this kernel.
Or check out xda forums for sense kernels to combine with trickdroid rom, like here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1851841

The kernel you listed is for 4.0.4 based ROMs.
Anyway, i already have the kernel for TrickDroid.
I'll switch to a non-sense ROM and see if things get better.
So lately I've been working late and I am allowed to use my phone to listen to music at work. On days that I work late, I am forced to bring my phone charger to work because it doesn't last me all day, not even close. According to my battery page in settings, I've had a screen time of only 40 minutes today, and listened to roughly only 20 minutes of music with a few short texts sent here and there and I'm already down to 74% battery life. I am running the most recent official Liquidsmooth (2.3 release) and have my brightness turned way down, and the CPU turned down to a max of 1124Mhz. I am also running the kernel that comes with the ROM, which I'm almost positive is LeanKernel.
Is it normal to be draining my battery this fast with not even an hour of screen time and barely using it? I even turn off data usage when I don't use my phone because I'm concerned about battery life. Is there anything I can do to improve battery life? I don't even touch the Voltage Settings and Advanced Settings under the Performance section, because I don't want to touch anything I don't know what to do or what settings make the ROM unstable. Anyone who can suggest good settings for more stable battery life, even if it sacrifices performance would be a huge help too! Thank you in advanced

Hear hear. Great rom but something is burning my battery in this rom.
I agree! I love it, I've tried so many ones and this is the only one I've been completely satisfied with basically every aspect! Except the only thing I can complain about is the battery life. Anyone have any suggestions?! I'm already down to 55% battery now

Thanks! I downloaded and flashed it. No problems here. Just need to find the correct tweaks for better battery life.
Let me know what you find. I'm still on the stock lean kernel for LS
I'm curious as well what these battery tweaks are. I installed liquidsmooth 2.4 over the weekend and have since moved back to my rooted stock primarily because of battery drain. I really like the aosp interface but can't afford to have it rape my battery. I was getting like 6 Hrs only on a charge. With my stock rooted rom I get about 19 Hrs on a full charge.
I am using liquidsmooth 2.4 and have been going for 17hrs today still got 20% left. I have the lean kernel that it flashes with and never had battery issues.
