[Q] How to restore notification bar and soft keys [AOKP-milestone-1] [JB4.1.2 ] - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I rebooted my tab this morning and the soft keys are missing from the bottom as well as the notification bar at the top. If I select menu toggle from the power menu i can get them to display together in one bar at the bottom but it behaves badly, apps forced into landscape mode, screen rotation disabled.
what is the problem or fix aside from factory reset?
thanks in advance.

Let me just answer my post. wipe data/cache then factory reset from recvovery....backup your sh*t if you feel like it first.
What disappoints me most about this site is threads that ask the same question but post no solution other than, FIXED. what annoys me most isn't that no one replied, it's that this is a bug that obviously needs some time to repair doing it this way, plus the annoyance factor was through the roof.

You might want to look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552024 and specifically this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=4482313&postcount=22. It may be that when you aligned the screen you did not accurately tap the center of each cross-hair which is causing problems. You might to try using the stylus and tap clockwise in a small circle to see if your screen responds. If it does, note approximately where you tapped and then try to do an align screen again - this time with the stylus to tap the center of the cross-hairs.
If this does not work, the general answer to your problem is to do a hard reset of your Sunno. Sunnos vary with how the hard reset is done and some users in that thread report not being to do it.
The other option to do a hard reset is somehow go from the Today screen to Settings to System and do the Mass Clear function. The Mass Clear program will effectively restore your ROM to the factory blank state by erasing all the data stored in flash memory.
This means that any data you have stored (contacts, programs, settings, etc.) will be wiped out. At this point, I think that is the least of your worries and you need to do the Mass Clear.
Good luck!

[Q] Keyboard blocks lockscreen, bug?

I'm having this weird issue since a couple of days, and it's starting to annoy me.
I have stock 4.3 on my Moto G (Still no 4.4 here in Chile) and when I'm writing a message, post, or anything involving the keyboard, and then press the power button to lock the phone, when I wake up the phone again the keyboard is still there on top of the lock screen, blocking the pattern area/slide button/unlocking method widget, and the only way to get rid of it is by dragging the notification area to bring any notification or settings menu up, trying to bring the camera/Twitter widget/any lockscreen widget, or activating Google Now.
So far, it looks like this bug happens with any app capable of bringing the keyboard up. I haven't tried to factory reset my phone yet and I still have to do a full backup in that case, but I hope that's the last resort. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Issues with notifications, home button - PAC ROM, SGH-T999

Hey y'all! First of all, thanks for the forum, I am using a T-Mobile SGH-T999.
Second of all, I'm having some issues with my recent install of PAC Man ROM (pac_d2lte-release-20141231.zip with gapps4.4.4). The first issue I'm experiencing has to do with the notification drop-down. After I restore from Titanium Backup, I cannot see the tiles or notifications under the notification drop-down. I've browsed through the PAC Settings pretty extensively and have not found a solution to my issue. I did find the tile ribbon that I can activate but it is still inadequate, especially when it comes to notifications.
I do not know if this is a related issue to the one above but, after restoring from Titanium, I do not get a lock screen unless it is on the first boot; after that point, I can make the screen go black with the power button but, when pressed to wake up, the lock screen doesn't come back. Prior to restoring the backup from Titanium, I have no problem getting to the lock screen.
The final issue I am dealing with has to do with the 'home' button on the device. I first thought perhaps it was a hardware issue but, after turning on PIE controls and the navigation buttons, it seems that pressing 'home' does nothing at all.
Thank you so much for reading this post, please let me know if I can be of any further information.

Home soft buttons/gestures not working anymore

I'm having a weird issue with my Pixel 1, all of a sudden my swipe from bottom home gesture stopped working. I enabled the soft buttons bar again but even tapping the home button there does nothing neither does the app drawer button, however the back gesture and button works fine.
There's also a few more oddities like my registered fingerprints got deleted so I had to register them again, some settings were changed like the order of the quick action icons, swiping the fingerprint reader down doesn't open notifications, and so on.
I've had issues with my battery for a while so I thought it could be related but I still have issues after replacing it. Is this a know issue or some sort of malware maybe? I'm thinking about doing a factory reset but I'm wondering if there's a less nuclear option.
Thanks!

Multitouch issue/disable with the status/notification bar?

Hello. So i made the switch to the S10e and i've been running into this issue where if i accidentally hold my phone with my finger just touching the selfie camera (or any part of the status/notification bar at the top of the screen), any and all other touch inputs just get disabled.
Any solutions to this? I assume Android thinks i'm going to pull it down and disables every other touch or something, but is there an option not to do that but still keep the draggable status bar? This also happens in all apps and the home screen/apps etc. no matter the screen.
Activating Show Taps in developer shows that the OS DOES see both my taps, the status bar and anything else, just that the software-side blocks other inputs once that initial status bar touch is seen and still active. It does NOT happen with the back/home/apps bar or generally anywhere else. I have tried making sure Nova launcher isn't doing anything. Tried Accidental touch protection On and Off and a host of other settings. Confirmed this is a status bar issue with hiding it in Samsung Internet and repeating the test.
Tried EdgeTouch with NiceLock but it only really helps for the sides which aren't really my issue.
Rarely this sometimes happens with stuff on screen too in the OS itself and in apps. Usually it's with triggering a function like holding the phone with touching the left hand of the screen and accidentally 'dragging' a menu' into view a few pixels, and then that disables all other input until it's gone. But that's fine since it's very rare. It's more more often than the status/notification bar is my main issue.

Do you use a case? That's what help'd me with accidental screen touches. An "ultra slim" case was all it took for me. Hope you find what works for you.
I am really against cases, as i really want a compact fone, and there are extremely few which get launched with AMOLED nowdays. I'd rather solve this via software.
