Samsung S+ GT-i9001 - General Topics

I know it's the wrong section, but im not permitted to post it in the correct section, because of my low posts.
I've got a rly big problem. I rooted my phone and then installed a custom firmware (cyanogen) but i did something wrong and i forgot to do a backup with clockwork mod. Now my Phone is stuck at loading screen. Wipe data/factory reset doesn't help.
Can anyone one upload a backup of his gt-i9001 system? So i can apply it from an external SD card, because now i can't do anything with my phone. Or is there any other method I can use to reset my phone?
Sorry for my bad english, but i really need help :/

Quite a lot of people learned to do backups the same way you did.

Instead of trying to restore other's backup from external SD card, why don't you just try to install the custom firmware that way?
PS. There is Q&A thread for SGS+ which is not locked for you. I wish you luck with trying to flash the phone.

As stated above, posting in your device forum would be best...and please read this thread below, to help in understanding posting, in the correct section.

How do I....?

Ok, I have perma root..... Now, someone mentioned nandroid (?) what is it, I cant seem to find it in the market, how do I use it and whats it for? Someone else mentioned to flash a copy of my phone and install an ruu, I am not a "techy" so I do not understand what that means.
If someone would be so kind as to clear it up for me, I would sure appreciate it. I am sure these are all noob questions that have been answered....
You need to flash a custom recovery... either CWM or Amon Ra. Look thru the recovery threads
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1416791 this should help.

Thanks, I have read that thread twice now, and am still lost, I think.
It says to make a nandroid backup, but how do I do that, is it an app?

You do that by installing a custom recovery(as mentioned above). When you reboot into recovery mode afterward, you can run a backup of your full android system. This is called doing a nandroid backup.
It's kind of like using the old application "Ghost". It takes a full backup of the system as it existed at the time of the nandroid backup. It stores it on your SD card so, if you really screw up flashing a ROM (and you will if you flash a lot) or if you want to try a new ROM, but decide you liked your old one better (again it will happen) you just go into recovery and restore the backup. Your phone will end up looking exactly like it did when you did the backup.
From personal experience, it will save your behind at least once if you are learning as well as when you are a seasoned "flasher"

Been using the ClockWorkMod CWM for a month or so, and it is great. Backup ROMS, install kernels/Roms in .zip right off SD Card. Copy backed up CWM ROMs to computer for long term archive and extra saftey as well.

[Q] Help with ClockworkMod 5.5.0.4

Can someone help please? I installed CWM Recovery thru ROM Manager. Rebooted in recovery to back up my ROM and now I can't get out of recovery. Every time I select Reboot System it reboots me into recovery.
Try here (if you can use NVFlash)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1519635&highlight=boot+into+cwm
Like many others, When I saw the thread over in the Dev section about the 5.5.0.4 recovery, I jumped right in and fired up Rom Manager before reading any further in the thread.
Unlike many others, I don't get the same results. My TF101 reboots to the OS with no problem. However trying to reboot to recovery from recovery doesn't work. I have to hold the vol. down button just like a cold boot into recovery.
The only difference might be, that I had stock recovery prior to installing 5.5.0.4, due to having to recover from another soft brick condition after trying to install the CM9 Nightly that is now available over on the official Clockworkmod site. That one had failed miserably for my device.
Good luck with solving your problems with the new recovery. Wish I could explain exactly why mine seemed to work as advertised when most others didn't. But I don't know.
I do have the problem with the Removable MicroSD not being visible. Only the built in "Fake" SD Card.
Update:
I now have the reboot into recovery problem. I used the wipe data option from the VOL DWN/PWR button start up, and now have that annoying boots into recovery problem like everyone else. I hope that and the SD card problem gets fixed in the next version.
Thanks, got everything back to normal with NVFlash method I found by watching this :http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=VMHXeYMgPy4
Lesson learned!! :/
Curious where the thread in the Dev section went to, I cant find it this morning...
Unfortunately, some of us cannot use NVFLash to fix this problem.
So, is it too much to ask that the Dev who wrote Rom Manager and CWM actually look in to this for us?
I too installed the newer CWM through Rom Manager and need to cold boot to get in to the OS otherwise it recovery boot loops.

Thread was closed. I was on it this morning and wanted to post a reply saying NV Flash work for me and I couldn't because it said the thread was closed.
I read the whole thing and apart from NV Flashing the was no other solution
How do you know you can't NVFlash?
yea , this morning the thread in the Dev section went to general , and now closed.
Perhaps we should follow this until everything is clarified.
the nvflash only work for b60 and some b70 tablets , most of b70 and b80 cant be flashed with this tool
I'm working on something to fix this, but I still need a little more testing.

any clue where to attack the problem?
Some people reported the new recovery worked when flashed over stock recovery.
any help you can supply on this would be greatly appreciated. it's very uncomfortable not being able to count on your recovery.

too late for us
I was up until 1am following the thread and posting my process, specs.
I am even more curious as to how the thread which was still pretty calm turned in to something that deserved being deleted.
In any event, I think we all understand that what we do is at our own risk. But CWM and Rom Manager have been the gold standard of reliability for quite some time. Once something is a trusted means by which to do something its even more disappointing to see that it no longer works.
the first post was moved because it was not exactly a development post
then, in the general section, I do not know why it closed, there is no explanation
so if microsd is not recognized, i can install rom from internal, right?

[Q] Accidentally wiped my system.. Help!!!

1st of all, i am a beginner. Just brought my android ics phone last month. I also rooted my phone by the help of my friend last week. But yesterday i was trying to restore factory settings. But i accidentally wiped my system. And now my phone wont boot. It stuck in BootScreen. Nothing happens then. I dont have the backup of my rom. what to do now ??? Please help!! Sorry for my bad English & Thanks in advance who wanna help me
..
What recovery are you using? Even if you wiped the phone you should still have it running. All you need to do is reboot in recovery mode. Hard to tell you how as I dunno what the phone is.
Before that you'll need to download your stock firmware and put it on the root directory of your SD card if you have one, so that once in recovery you'll actually have something to flash.
If the phone doesn't have a SD slot, then you'll need to use a recovery tool on your PC to flash it.
Right now shut the phone down, remove the battery, find some guides specific about your phone, and read them carefully. There's a reason why we're using recoveries. First thing you should have done is to backup your stock firmware somewhere on your computer or on the cloud, and make sure you knew how to use it if something like that was to happen... Little late for that now.
When you'll know what to do, just mind that you still have enough battery to flash the stock ROM. Come back to ask help here if there's something you don't understand. Good luck!

No problem. Just install this partition manager free. It is perfectly adapted for windows 8. And you are offered a variety of options which can swap/merge/separate new partitions. With a very easy-to-understand instructions, everything is perfect!
Thanks for kindly reply

Well that's the kick, is it? Most of what I found through a quick search was in foreign language... I do english, french, and a little spanish, but that's it...
I did find THIS quite easily though... My bet is, start from there to find infos... That's all I can do right now to help you, sorry!

My phone is a Moto g xt1072
I can access twrp and bootloader
Also my phone was stuck on the bootloader animation on the start up, this was the reason i accidentally wiped my OS
And also i do not own an sd card for my phone yet, So using that method is out of the equation

Hey I hope you have all your important files and other data clouded or backed-up somewhere. Sounds like you bricked your phone, and sounds like you have a moto g 2nd gen (Titan). Here's a link to the thread on factory firmware images: forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/moto-g-2014-factory-firmware-images-t2869485
I recommend looking for the factory firmware image for your xt1072 and flashing. You'll get a fresh boot (like a factory reset), so make sure you have a back-up of any important files prior to doing this. In TWRP recovery you might be able to see files, but that might not be too useful without being able to copy them to a computer. You'll likely find more relevant info on threads that are related to your phone model. Good luck.

Your best bet is taking this to the moto g 2nd gen (Titan) section on the forum, other users of the same phone would be better help for this.

ollieshikarii would need to be able to transfer a file to the SD card (internal storage), which I think requires being able to boot the phone.
Rule of thumb, keep all important data on a phone backed up to the cloud, and larger files on a memory card if possible.
