Regarding Superuser root method

Hi,
I am a first time user of this website.
I followed the steps for rooting my rogers galaxy s2 lte with superuser and I dont have the phone unlocked yet (waiting on the code). My question is, when i try to download anything from the market using wifi, it sayx no connection try again. I wanna know why this is happening since before rooting the phone, I downloaded 2 apps without any issues using the wifi. So any help on this issue would be great

If you installed cwm flash a different rom and see if the issue still exist.

Skyrocket Bricked

OK you guys I have two skyrockets and one of whick was running CM9 and I loved it but I tried flashing CWM touch on Rom manager but it tried to reboot but was stuck at the first Samsung boot logo for a few secs then shuts off. Is there anyway I can I fix it or am I f*cked?
As for the second phone its not rooted yet but I am switching from Att to a different carrier but it doesn't need unlocking but my question is if I root it can I still use CM9 with out using a different radio? Im still a newb so please go easy on me.

For skyrocket #1, have you tried using Odin to go back to stock?
Also, might take a look at your power button. I've seen several posts about what appears to be a bootloop, but its just that the power button got stuck.
As for the question on skyrocket #2, you can flash roms and root to your heart's content and it won't mess with your radio.

Kinda seems like a silly question, but is the battery charged enough to turn it on?
Does it constantly restart itself, or just shut off completely?

Try doing it like in the video, if you get the same result its a stuck power key. Look for vincom's signature I think he got solutions in his second link.

Nope it just doesn't make it to the second logo but I think I'll send it to samsung its happened before and they fixed it but its would make it all the way to the art logo

Others have covered #1 pretty well, but I will say that using ROM Manager to do anything other than fix permissions is a risky proposition. I prefer to use ODIN to get CWM in place/updated.
As for the second phone, a new ROM won't change your radio, but make sure you update to 4.0.4 stock via Kies first to get an ICS radio before jumping to CM9.

i agree with the rom manager, never use it for anything other than fixing perms, but twrp does that pretty well so we actually dont need rom manager
you can get the ics radio by flashing back to stock, the prob is it might not stick the first time if coming from another radio as no recovery wipes the radio when wiping the system, but you can flash the radio(twice) seperatly in any rom to check which radio works best for the user, ics radios for ics roms, dont think you can flash gb radios on ics or vice versa

thanks everyone I resolved the issue I'm sending my phone back to samsung so they can fix it. I'm sure they won't figure out out its been rooted I had the Original Epic 4G that I messed up and got it fixed so I'm not worried so thanks you guys.

Upgraded to the official ICS via odin...didn't care much for it & went back to Alien 6.
Was gonna change back radio's ....but the performance is great.
I've found if you have a radio which has given you good service ...it'll work for any rom.

Can't Root my Captivate runing 2.3.5

Hello i want to Root my captivate so i can Network Unlock it.
I tried superoneclick and it didnt worked.
Any other way to root my phone ?
If i flash CyanogenMod 9 can i unlock the phone using the Galaxy_S Unlock by Helroz on Play store ?

Usually, I'm nice, but this question has been asked way too many times. You most likely didn't search or read other posts that clearly explain how rooting is different for gingerbread. I am sure you will find out without having to look too hard.

LOL In time u wrote the post i was looking and i found something regarding flashing a Autoroot kernel and than flashing the stock kk4 kernel.
Is that the way to root it ?

There you go. Yes, that is one way to do it. You can also flash corn kernel; there is an option to root from recovery.

Yep...if u used Autoroot kernel.
Nope...if u flash kk4 Corn Kernel. --- i recommend v7.0A if u choose Corn.

I think i bricked my phone.
In odin the software got stuck in "Initializing" and i disconected the phone.Now the phone wont turn on it just show a "phone a danger signal and a computer"

I fixed i used the USB at the back port of pc

[Q] Will i loose root if i update to JB from root injected ICS?

KK..like i posted before, i rooted my note using the first method. Thats is i flash a root injected ics european stock rom because i just wanted root and didnt want my count to go up. Now i want to update to jellybean via OTA. Will i loose my root? if i loose my root it means i have to use cwm recovery method, i dont want that. and there is no root injected jellybean stock rom. so please can someone tell me how to go about it? thanks

If you're rooted you can't update OTA. Simplest thing would be to install the stock rom using PC Odin and reroot using Chainfire's Exynos Abuse or just flash the rom on Mobile and Odin with root injection.

I suppose 3 things.
1) Search. If that's your response you don't know enough about what the risks are. Just use google. The forum isn't here to do your work for you.
2) Read. A lot. For the same reason.
3) Try saying please.
I don't want to sound like an arse but all the information you need is right here and is easy to find. It's rude to expect it of others when you can't be bothered yourself.

how do i install 4.1.2 stock with odin without wiping my phone?
I can't use kies because for some reason it won't recognize my phone

Yes. Have you tried to upgrade your phone with kies? Where did you get the 4.1.2 file from, what file format is it?

Read all the stickies you can before doing anything. Vincom has posted a few, read them all, read them till you feel confident you can do this. 4 Flash old recovery tar as PDA in Odin 3. Link http://d-h.st/Z97 .
5 Flash new recovery zip in old recovery. Link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1777970 .

For prerooted and improved Rogers JB (get CWM here http://d-h.st/Z97 ) .

PS. If you use google backup (in settings/accounts) all your phone numbers and most other settings will remain. There are other ways but i don't care about them. ds.

OP, I think you should stay on ics until you can get kies to work. Your going to end up losing everything on your phone at best and bricking it at worst.
