Regarding Superuser root method - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket SGH-I727

Hi,
I am a first time user of this website.
I followed the steps for rooting my rogers galaxy s2 lte with superuser and I dont have the phone unlocked yet (waiting on the code). My question is, when i try to download anything from the market using wifi, it sayx no connection try again. I wanna know why this is happening since before rooting the phone, I downloaded 2 apps without any issues using the wifi. So any help on this issue would be great
Thanks in advance
EDIT:
This was the thread that I used to root my phone
[MOD] ROOT | CWM | ODIN | SGH-I727 and SGH-I727R Skyrocket

If you installed cwm flash a different rom and see if the issue still exist.

[Q] Newb Needing Help Unrooting *Not One-Click*

Noob here,
I am wanting to unroot by samsung galaxy i897 on rogers network in Canada. I just rooted it using the superoneclick method. Now whenever I try to enable my wifi the phone keeps rebooting till I pull the battery and restart. I have decided that I am too stupid to have a rooted phone and am looking for a simple way to unroot my phone and restore it back to the standard gingerbread 2.3 it was running on before. I have tried the super one click unroot method, following the guide on this forum and it hasn't worked.
Thanks
simplest method is to flash to stock firmware
Hit me on the thanks button if you find it useful ; )

Another Noob Question
And how would I go about doing that?
You can use ODIN to flash to stock rom
Sent from my Galaxy Tab using xda premium
Ok, so I tried using odin to get back to the stock rogers rom using the roms posted on the following thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=979133
But even though odin says it was successful, the firmware is still AT&T. Any ideas why?
Did you try to wipe dalvik cache, wipe data before flashing to stock rom

Found a thread will the proper rogers firmware. All seems to be working well now. I think I was just just using incorrect at&t firmware. Thanks for the help.

[Q] Is it safe to root my skyrocket again?

Hi,
I had just flashed stock ics onto my skyrocket( from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1652398), When I went on, I saw that my superuser was still there, even when it was not supposed to be there. I was just wondering if it would be safe to root my phone again.
Thanks
Daniel

No no no no and 100% no, just follow the link in my SIG for installing cwm/twrp , its so easy , no chance to brick the phone unless you don't know how to follow instructions written for newbs, if he's that worried why does he want to root his phone, a rooted phone w/newbs is more dangerous if he doesn't know what he's doing

Have to disagree with you Vin.
Check out. Doomlord Rooting on the Web.

Yes it can be done but its a supplemental root and will not do anything but stock firmware with root perms so not a ton of advantages. Then again you could use Odin too so I guess meh

wont work on our phones...... well i've never heard or seen any1 doing it for our phones on this forum
edit: r u talking about superoneclick, i think i remeber back when the skyrocket initially came out that was the way to do it, but i havent seen any1 else using it lately, any1 tried it lately
edit: k i found doomlords link, but still havent found any1 here using it lately, so there might be more than 1 way to root our skyrocket, seems to be a hit or miss though, so i stand corrected, but for ease of use, it working 99.999% of the time, going the route of installing cwm/twrp(for future flashing of roms) is the only way to go
Hi Vin. I just went back and looked at my posts (last May) when I first got the flash bug and here's the post I followed back then to root my phone.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582
I used V3 ( still have it on my PC lol)
Now ..to the OP.. This method is old and no one uses it(much) anymore and it was probably a little dangerous.

[ROOT] Straight Talk: Samsung Galaxy Centura

It's been successfully rooted with POOT.
It has also been rooted via CWM by Area51 Here for CWM and then Here for Root! I did find some ROM development going on at Area51 as well here. Area51's CWM does not appear to play nice with any phone rooted with Poot however so it's best to install CWM from Area51 first and then use their root method.

The root method used at A51 is out-of-date, and can't be updated. Therefore, you'll continuously receive an update notification and won't be able to stop it.

Not True! All you have to do is just not install the update when it boots you into CWM. This will be fixed when they complete the ROM they're working on. I don't get update reminders after accepting the first one and just not installing it once in recovery mode at the install screen!
My roomate just got this phone, gonna root it for her. Thanks for posting methods.

You might want to wait for Area51 to complete their first ROM for the phone. Currently it has an annoying update that keeps trying to install over the rooted stock OS that will break root if you install it. Of course you can just keep clicking on accept and then selecting NO when you get to the install update screen in CWM like I do, but it's an annoyance.
Is area51 still working on a ROM?

Galaxy Centura 4.X
Is there any roms for the Samsung Galaxy Centura on StraightTalk that is Android version 4.1, 4.2 or above?
Not yet. Something that Samsung broke in the kernel is preventing the ROMs from booting up.

Cool just rooted one of these and uh, any recommendations on a root required app to use the phone as a wifi hotspot free of charge?
I just installed cwm with Odin and I did a backup. I downloaded all the files for root and place it in clockwork backup folder. When I go to cwm and restore backup folder I get a md5 mismatch error. Is their anyway to fix that?

Did you rename the backup? If it has spaces, it will cause that error.

What's the best method of returning this phone back stock is there a flashable firmware or tar file?
Does anyone know what has become of Androidarea51 ??
I've been trying to access that site for some time and it always fails to load.
It has been mentioned in this thread as a source for rooting this model of phone and I've just been given one & would like to root it...
Thanks.
Did anyone get the ROM to boot up? I've been trying but all I get is a black screen

Your phone has to be rooted to install any os on it. I could be wrong but my android device required it
Well to start your phone was never rooted so its not a "re-root" or anything like that. You just need to simply root your phone & install a custom recovery. Im sure you can find those instructions googling or here on xda
Sent from my Nexus 5 using xda app-developers app
Ide recommend a stock rom like cleanrom and I think there are a few on xda.
Until you get used to recovery and the other aspects of rooting. It gets a little complex when you first start down this path. Be careful and always follow all instructions.
