I just installed it on my tab 2 7.0. but I am curious in looking at the 'about phone" tab it says that the android version is 4.1.1. does that mean jelly bean is now my operating system and i can install cm10? because in looking at the cm9 thread that specific rom is for 4.0.4

ok I got more info. it looks like I downloaded the wrong rom. it is actually cm10 which is for jelly bean while my original stock rom was ice cream.
the about phone still says 4.1.2. I tried downloading a rom for 4.0.4 but it just gets stuck in the logo. anybody know a way to revert back to 4.0.4?

thanks for pointing me to metal mike but the file is gone. however I found out what the problem was. cm10 doesnt have usb debuggin on by default. since this was my first rom on a tablet I just assumed that it was always on. once I turned it on I was able to install the correct rom for my system.

Alright the situation is i got a newish phone and plan on giving my nexus S to my parents, right now its running the nightly. I want to be sure they have something stable. So i am looking at either switching it to Cyanogenmod 7.2 or the stock rom. I have heard that they have released 4.1 stock rom for Nexus S, I have not seen it if anyone has a link please comment with it.
My parents are not tech savy but they need a better phone. So Stock or Cyanogen?
The JB Android 4.1 update is very stable. Set them up with that by following the steps given in our nexus s forums. Good luck!

I would recommend Jelly Bean 4.1.1 Stock. Should be totally sufficient + they get to have Google Now
I recommend on CM9.0 RC-2, which is stable and up to date
h ttp://get.cm/?device=crespo&type=RC
I would use a cym 9 rc2 because everything pretty much works and its really fast with the matr1x kernel. It also has great battery life with just enough customization.

I would use the Stock Stock JB Update or the cm9 RC2, but not cm7.2
definitely stock JB. You can download for Widgetsoid 2.x for notification toggles and a battery % widget, and they're set! JB is really feature rich and awesome!
For 4.1 JB I was looking around for a guide for Nexus S 4.1 rooted. My version is I9020XXJK8. I gave seen a few guides but not that many links for the actual zip of JB 4.1. Also how do you update CWM?

Try this. If you have JB then just do the bottom part (superuser, clockworkmod, etc.)

Hiya
I had stock 4.0.4 on my UK P5110 Tab 2 wifi, until the damn thing bricked when Device Spoofer went awry and messed up on reboot. The only stock rom that I could find to flash back on was the 4.0.3 European ROM, which is fine but now it wont update telling me there is no update available from the default 4.0.3 that is on there now.
Asides from the fact that Device Spoofer has caused me a bit of a headache and I likely wont be using it again without backup (doh!) I miss a couple of the tweaks that 4.0.4 brought to the table.
Can anyone help? I cant seem to find mention of a stock 4.0.4 for the P5110 anywhere
Cheers
Nope. You could flash CM9, though.
Went for the cm10 preview instead, seems to be pretty good so far tbf
Cheers though

Has this ROM popped up anywhere yet?
I don't know what the rom version it is other than on my UK P5110 and it was definitely4.0.4
Reverted back to the European stock rom from samfirmware but that is 4.0.3 P5110XXALD6 with no upgrade available to 4.0.4 according the software update in settings.

I saw it was updated today for JB or JB roms.
Anyone pull it so guys on ICS based Rom can get some love?
I'm with ya. Running Google now on stock ics Rom and would love to check out this update. I'm sure we will be flashing the latest update through cwm any second now.

Do they have Google Now that runs on a stock TW Rom, rooted? Google Now will be the one thing I will miss from my GNEX JB Rom.

Like how you can finally add your teams manually also
Google Now error [CM10 on SGS3/Verizon]
On my Samsung Galaxy S III on Verizon, with CM10 nightly, Google Now keeps telling me that I need to turn on Google's location service. But it is on. This notification keeps coming back and I can't get any further with Google Now.
Known issue? Am I missing something??
I went from stock rooted to cm10 and now Beans build 9.. Which is the best right now imo
I'm sure this could be installed as an apk, not flashed correct?
Google now has to be hacked to work on ics. Which is why there are a few bugs currently compared to jb roms. Will probably take a few days for this update to work its way through the team that is porting it over.

Not sure if this belongs here or not but....I am looking for a rom that is 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 based with Samsung apps (I like them) and runs on 8013. I have been trying to decifer what is currently in rom area. I do understand that AOPK is not what I'm looking for but no all of these say what their based on.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

soo i have baked bean rom on my tab right now witch is a unoffical cm10.1 i think and i havent updated it in a long time so i think i should switch to cyangenmod. now i looked at cm10.2 on xda first and i noticed jb bootloaders that you would have to flash with odin, i dont know how to do this, for cm 10.1 should i just have to flash the stable zip and gapps??
I am running the stable release of CyanogenMod 10.1.2_p3100
I downloaded the .zip file and gapps for 4.2.2 and pasted both to my sdcard.
Then I went to CMW mode
cleared the cache, files of previous ROM
flashed the CM10.1.2 stable release for p3100 zip
after that again I flashed the gapps for 4.2.2 zip
and rebooted my device. Now my tab is running it perfectly.
Procedure is same, Be sure to download the correct zip for the correct model number (mine is p3100) and the gapps for 4.3 (because cm10.2 is running 4.3)
You can browse gapps by below link

If you're coming from Jellybean, there's no need to flash JB bootloaders prior to flashing CM 10.1 or 10.2.

ok thanks xD just recently I got my hands on a galaxy s cappy and in order to get gingerbread and up roms I had to flash gingerbread bootloaders, if I didn't it would screw up the phone so I thought this was the same way with my tab.

10.1 is JB that is why you don't need to flash the JB Booloader for flashing 10.2 which is also JB.
