[Q] Unsatisfied with Redemption ROM 2.0, don't know where to go from here

I had an Incredible, also with Verizon, that I rooted and had Cyanogenmod installed for almost the entire duration of owning the phone. I have the S3 now and I rooted it and flashed Redemption ROM 2.0, thinking it would be decent. It's not. I'm still on Ice Cream Sandwich and not really sure what my options are from here. I've heard there's a ton of bugs with CM10 (as expected, it's unofficial) and the rest of the ROMs for ICS in the list on this site don't really look appealing to me. Plus, I'm not entirely sure how to get to 4.1 from my 4.0.4.
Cleanroms by Scott have been my daily drivers. Scott is very on top of things. He answers about 99.9% of post. Fast, stable and great on battery.

There are ROMs that are based off the Android 4.1.1 leak provided by Samsung and Verizon. There are official nightlies for CM10 as well. You might want to check them out when you have the chance.

Uhm beans rom B5 is amazing with an AOSP feel to touch wiz.
Scotts cleanroms are always good.
CM10 really isn't that bad honestly.

+1
if you like cyanogenmod install it on your phone.
i hate touchwiz. ill never go back at this point. except to try any note 2 port that comes over
Clean rom 5 is a great daily driver. I run that with 4.2 camera and keyboard on top of it. It's updated frequently and gets great battery life.
Being based on tw is a downside for some people but it runs great.
I recommend it 100%

If you want AOSP that is solid try Slimbean, Eclipse, Liquid or ParanoidAndroid. They are all solid and work great IMO. I got bored with AOSP and recently went back to TW based Clean ROM.... With all the Aroma options and themes it is wicked nice, fast and super stable!!!!

If you are looking for AOSP JB (like you would find on a nexus phone/tablet), your best bet would be to flash Paranoid Android ROM. it is based on Google's source, and you don't have to use the PA Settings.
My Infuse is Stalking Beans

AOKP JB Rom 5113 4.2 ?

Anyone come across a 4.2 version of aokp for the tab2 10.1?
Been searching but no luck.
Been on 4.1.2 forever and it seams that development forgot about the tab 2 10.1.
Saw video on a tab2 running 4.3 and it wasn't good, user commented on tab2's lack of resources to run smoothly on 4.3.
AOKP seems to have the best reliability running on this platform when it comes to a simple android experience. Cm is close but it can be quite buggy, I just want to use my tab daily without having to work on it to get it running properly.
Any input will be appreciated.
Pp.

ROM port question

Is it possible to port s4 ROMs to this device? Has it been done before? I've messed around with porting before, I actually tried to port a sense 4 ROM to the s3 and I tried porting an s4 to the droid DNA. The problem I ran into was getting Ubuntu installed onto my windows 8.1 laptop in dual boot. Just curious thanks guys!

I don't see the point to do so. S4 is only 4.3 and current we're running custom 4.4 with all the latest 4.4 features. There's no reason to go back to 4.3 rom.
Yeah I understand your point. The reason I was asking is because I'm still running 4.1 jelly beans ROM and I was wondering if they weren't going to do a 4.3 release of that ROM if I could port the s4 version to the s3.

I don't see why you couldn't do it. Andybones has a S4 version of his rom that he is porting over to the S3. It can be done. As nice as 4.4 is I'll stick with a rock solid version of 4.3 anyday

Andy ported the S4 apps on to his S3 ROM. It is still an ROM based on the S3 firmware. If it was a port it would have said so in the title of his ROMs thread. It is an XDA rule to put port, official or unofficial in a ROM title if necessary. With that being said it is very difficult to port a ROM if the device it is based on has different hardware then the device it is being ported to.

Agreed, but the hardware isn't exactly the same in both devices. Roms can be ported for the most part to any device there are however some limitations

What 4.1 ROM are you running? There are already quite a few 4.3 ROMs for the S3. MOAR, Wicked Sensations, Clean ROM, and JellyBeans (now called Alliance ROM) have all been updated from 4.1.2 to 4.3. And Synergy ROM and BoneStock are in the process of being updated to 4.3. There's also Old & slow's ROM, samstock, and scrosler's knoxless, rooted, stock ROM all based on 4.3.

Hello, there are some modified stock roms if you are into that. However, I use CyanogenMod 11 on my Blaze. It has Android 4.4.2 If I am not mistaken, it is the most widely used ROM in phones.
Here is CM 11 for the Blaze. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2566075
For some modified Stock Roms, or a little more, refer to the old testament of the Blaze Bible. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574556
The only thing to keep in mind is that on kitkat there are a few bugs. Whereas ics and 4.1.2 (cm10) our blaze maintains all function.
