Edit: I'm on clean ROM 5.0
Edit2: alright problem fixed.. Anyone know how I can get emojis to work on the stock touch wiz 4.1.1 messaging app?

open the file that you used to flash the 2.3.4 then open system then app and scroll down to dialertabactivity.apk and there it is copy it and push it to /system/app/
and/or you could go with a better dialer like TouchPal Dialer free from market it shows your recent call history just above the dialer and calls with one click just like a sense dialer
I need it too. I can't find it.
Look into extreme dialer 3

If I used odin to flash this, where do I fine the apk?

download one of the zip files from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=949972
pull the apk and replace the one you have in system/app. make sure you have a backup though
Okay, so I tried pushing the apk, but it didn't work. I keep getting a force close when I try opening the dialer.

Reflash your ROM. Wiping data or factory reset wont solve this seeing as the apk would have been in /system and not /data

i tried reflashing the rom and got the message app back but now when i open the message app this error comes up 'unfortunately messaging has stopped working;
i'll try the apk you gave evilmastr and report back
In Go Sms there is a check box for if you have deleted the stock app and want go sms to do that job. Find it and check it and that should fix you.

Google Voice
Have you tried using the Google Voice app? There is a setting that allows GV to be the default messaging app. I like the GV app better than the stock message app anyway.
I deleted two of my stock app; T-Mobile TV, and EA Games
I deleted those cuz i thought i didn't need them, soon after I restored my phone, which is a T-Mobile LG G2x Android 2.3.4, and then my google app didn't update like the other apps on my phone did. i really don't like that old google app cuz it was for the old version, anyway to get the update?
Is there any messaging app that looks same as HTC stock message app that I can install on cm 10
from stock rom adb pull mms.apk and install it on cm10

Do you really think that will work?
I think app not installed or failed to parse package error will be there.
And pushing to system/app will I think force close or do nothing to it..
May be.....it work.. but I don't think so.
