Hello everybody.
I want to use a gameboy emulator full screen to avoid touching home and back buttons when I am playing.
Anybody knows how to hide system bar on this rom and tablet?
I saw this mod and will be great something like that on our Note 10.1.
Thank you
I use this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.goodmooddroid.gesturecontrol&hl=de
Works like a charm. You can also let the app de-/activate the system bar in specific apps.

The application at http://ppareit.github.com/HideBar/ can hide and restore the honeycomb statusbar. Currently this only works on the transformer and requires root.
For questions about the program and for help getting this to work on more devices, you best contact the developer.
does not working for me on revolver 3.2
hidebar

Works very well on hd 1.2.1 rom. Thanks.
works great....thank you for this!

Works fine on Revolver 3.2 Thanks!
Works great on ARHD 1.2.1. This exactly what I needed. There are a few app and games, such as any Divide Arts (Earth & Legend) game, that force the status bar over to the side. It really bugs me when that happens. This has eliminated that. Nice work .
Works great on Revolver 3.2, just what I needed, thanks
Many thanks! Works great on Prime 1.9 here
this app would be awesome if it had an auto hide feature with a 5 to 10 second delay, and set to load on boot.
edit... a drag down option to hide to would be awesome too.
I agree !
Work on Prime 1.9
I would like to see the option to turn it on and off.
look up honeybar. it does the same thing. I use it and its faultless in m opinion. its free but i dont think its on the market

what are the uses of hiding the bar???? I dont see how my device would function without it! Ie: having to press back or home to get out of apps...
a simmilar function is already built into revolver 3.2 hold power buton then hide status bar

for non native media players like mxplayer where it would keep the status bar active while watching a Movie, the stock player would hide it though.....this app manually hides it for you

I use it to fullscreen games, so that I don't accidentally hit the back button while playing. You get the status bar back with a swipe.

Works good, but it makes my homscreen lag :-(
I've noticed that any app I have used that modifies the status bar function lags the homescreen. Pity. Hidebar does not have this problem since it activated by a notification prompt.

I agree, I noticed lag too. Honeybar also made my app drawer work funny.
Very good app, Thanks
Is there a way to hide the system bar?
maybe something like THIS?
+1
Love this idea
Try the link below for the apk........... i havent tried it on ics yet
was just going to post up as an attachment but its not frickin working on the ics browser
http://ppareit.github.com/HideBar/
it is not working for me
me either - sorry guys
From what I understand, Google pretty much locked it out completely, so it's impossible at the moment to hide the status bar. It's really annoying. :/
From the author of Honeybar: "*** Important note for ICS users: Honeybar is unsupported on ICS and will not hide the UI bar. I have examined the source for ActivityManagerService and it currently appears impossible to stop com.android.systemui"

Damn that sucks. I hope Google changes their mind or someone finds a way around this problem. I find it extremely irritating to use video and reading apps with the system bar at the bottom.
I guess I will stick with Android 3.2 for now.
There's a tweak for the Galaxy Nexus that remove the bottom bar entirely, and the person who posted it says to use ButtonSavior (on the market) to replace the soft keys. The newest AOKP rom also includes a feature to remove the navigation bar which I assume is pretty much the same as the bar on tablets.
The mod is over on RootzWiki, not sure if I can post links to it, or if it will work for the TF or could be adapted for it.
See, it's things like this that make me wonder. Why in the world would google, or anyone, lock things down so much that nobody can change anything? Disabling the status bar in honeycomb didn't do any harm. I never heard a single complaint of a bricked tablet or software problem because of disabling the status bar.
Yes!!!
Team EOS has the option the hide the system bar in an easy to use manner.
Where?

Where? Searched for "status" "system" "bar" "hide" in varying combinations as well as individually. Could you point me in the right direction. TIA.
From looking around the framework-res etc what i have seen that ICS is based on a theme called holo. Now if we could modify the framework-res and strip the black and make it transparent it should be able to be done. Decompiling it has been no problem however I am too new at themeing to provide any definite answers to recompile framework-res as i have tried but it just will not register as a proper apk. There is one issue with that however, the holo theme is involved with almost everything to do with the system. Example backgrounds for the menu system and the onscreen keyboard and a pile of other stuff plus the assorted icons would still be present back button home apps button clock and wifi.
All the edits were because my cursor diappeared.

It's part of the ROM. They don't appear to have a separate app to hide the system bar, so we have to use the full rom for now. It works the same way pre-ICS Revolver did.
Couldn't find anything on Team EOS tread about it.

With EOS for TF101 you press the power button to get the menu option to hide the status bar. The menu is shown in baseballfanz's post.

This works perfect on my A500 running ICS 4.0.3 rooted using live wallpaper - no issues whatsoever, thanks for the tip! Also really liked the gestures part of the whole thing as I can make apps launch from anywhere and probably won't even use the status bar much at from now on.
Hi,
I'm developing app that allows to hide soft keys and replace them with autohide bar. Notification bar is not removed. Its not modifying system files, but it is a root app. I want to test it on different devices. Tab Plus has Phone UI right? Could you try my app and let me know if it works on Tab Plus.

Hi guys, just picked up one of these puppies.
Is there anyway to get it to play games etc in FULL SCREEN, i know the notification bar, dulls its icons and makes them dots, but id still like to play things without the bar all together.
I maybe missing something, is there a way to do it, or do i have to root and install a custom rom?

You at least have to root then i think there are apps or mods to hide the bar
You may try this (although i didnt try it myself): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.tsorn.FullScreen&feature=search_result

LMT pie works pretty good. I tried a couple others including Omni switcher that I pulled from another rom but didnt seem as useful especially since recent app switcher is unavailable here. I'm looking for something to replace that very useful feature google decided they would deprive us from
