I did this and it works great. The only problem I have is that my home key doesn't work properly anymore. It only seems to work in the clock application. No biggie as I just make sure I have the clock app in my recent app list, then I can press recent app button, select the clock app, then home. It just means a couple more clicks. Anyone know how to get the home button to work properly would be a help. Pendopad is rooted.

Do you have anything on your Pendopad 4.0 important? Because you may need a system format

All fixed, hadn't changed permissions correctly. Now have Play Store, tablets now rooted also. Have installed Paragon application so now usb otg should see a drive larger than 16 gig, as long as formatted in ntfs. self powered hub can only see one flash drive although windows machine can see more on same hub so I guess pendopad does,t supply enough power. It can see them but can only access one. I tried usb bluetooth stick but had no luck with that so far. So Pendopad 4.0 is a bargain for $89 from Coles.

If you cant use the new Play Videos, cos like me, you're rooted, get OTA rootkeeper from the play store, save your roots, then disable them when u want to rent - works just fine - then re-enable root when you've finished
FYI, autoupdate on Revolver ICS after updating Google Earth. (done nothing else, beside listing music)

Google Play Store App not working in my new Nexus

Hello All,
It might seems funny, but I am struggling with my first ever android (Samsung Nexus) that i bought 4 days back (In Netherlands, Simlock free, without any contract) but I am unable to launch even Google Play Store App on it.
I don't have any default store app ,so i tried to install multiple version of Google Play App, so that I can access and download apps, but every time when I pressed the icon it blink for a moment and then nothing happens. I tried to clear data, restarted cell multiple times, but no luck. Please help how can I access Google play app or android market to download app.
i am stuck with it for a long time now. Request all experts to help me so that I can fully utilized my new nexus.
Have you tried uninstalling and re installing Play Store?

Yes, I tried multiple version of Google Play Store App and also clear the data from Setting-->Apps section..still not able to solve it.
Which version of Android are you running and are you rooted?

Reinstall Android 4.0.3. There is a thread out here with the link to the full signed rom. You can install it from stock recovery
In my ABOUT PHONE : full maguro 4.0.1 icl23d 288 test keys
I believe that is a test build and not a regular unit for retail customer so It's not equipped with Google apps.
Anyways, I am going to store to get either new unit or any fix for the same, but if anyone here already faced this kind of issue and can provide me any guidance, it will be good help.
You re in the wrong thread... try galaxy nexus forum. This is nexus s.

[FIX] Google Play download/connection problems

Many people have been asking why Google play either fails to download apps or fails to connect at all, so here's a few things that might fix it!
1) Clear the Cache from Google Play in your settings.
(Settings > Applications > Google Play > Clear cache)
2) Try removing your Google account and re-adding it
3) Seems obvious, but try turning your internet of and on
4) Try rebooting your device
5) restart your internet (Through your main hub)
If non of these work, you may be best contacting Google to get it checked out!
Hope this helps

Also tried everything. Even complete uninstall of the play store through titanium backup and reinstall manually the apk. No luck. Internet working fine, only market is dead. The strangest thing is that it was working well, I did not modify anything, then it stopped working.
Please help
If you've tried everything above, you could try restoring your phone. This would be a pain but if you back everything up first shouldnt be too much of a problem. Or you could just leave it a week or so and see if it starts working . If not, I'd say contact Google.

That's the obvious last solution, but it doesn't really make sense. There must be a reason for the market to be doing this. I also tried manually installing a few different versions of the play store apk, not just the latest one. Still the same results.
I know what you mean. Maybe certain devices can sometimes have trouble accessing the market itself, or maybe its just a temporary thing with the Google servers.

1 more thing.
If you patched any app using lucky patcher, it would have created an odex file in data/app. In order to install it again, you should delete that .odex file.

I don't recall having used Lucky Patcher. Sadly I will never find out what went wrong. Flashed another rom. It was time for a change anyway
I will try this trick
I think also, if you install a ROM or have a device that does not come pre installed with Google play, that flashing Gapps may be better! Because I've tried manually installing the play store using an apk before. And most of the time it won't downloads apps. Try to flash Gapps as that may solve it. You can get gapps by searching for it followed by your android version on Google ^_^ good luck

I had a similar issue where my rommed kindle fire either couldn't connect or was unable to download apps from the play store. On connecting to the store the device details failed to register at all limiting greatly the available downloads.
Resolved the issue by using a gmail address for logging into the play store. For some reason using email other than gmail caused an issue.
Also removing/hiding unused devices in play store allows you to reconnect devices correctly it seems.

I think the registration process creates (or allows you to create) a gmail address but you can log into play store with the non-gmail address used to register. Unfortunately it seems doing so causes download problems.

Try using it with a gmail address then? Other than what I suggested I'm not sure to be honest. My last solution was to contact Google but they can't give a lot of support to custom ROMs.

I had this same problem with my LG Optimus V, famous for this kind of thing. The first time this happen, I clicked on settings, then Applications, then Manage Applications. Then clicked ALL, then Google Play Store. Then I clicked on Force Stop, then Clear Data, then Clear Cache. Then run Google Play Store and agree to terms. This always worked for me using Froyo 2.2.2 -- When that didn't work, I un-installed the updated Google Play Store and reverting back to the basic one.
Later on this problem happened again, but this time it was when I rooted and flashed a custom ROM. I started getting the error message the file didn't download, but this time it was also telling me the file couldn't download because of low memory. Go figure, Optimus V only have 256 megs of internal ram, but anything below 100 megs gives the the Google error. So just before tossing my phone in the trash I read a post somewhere here on XDA forum that showed step by step how to partition a microSD card and link the second partition as internal memory using an app called Link2SD.
So I tried it on a 16 GB card and after rebooting my phone, it fixed it. Never had the problem again. Plus my Optimus V thinks there is 1GB of internal ram now. Being most phones today have 1GB or more internal ram, there should be no reason for this kind of error.

Hey Guys,
Regarding the latest Play Store update there's this annoying new feature (I was hoping it was some kind of bug) that stacks any updated apps at the top of the "My Apps" list and I find it really annoying.
Is there any way of clearing them so they go back into the list ? Google Maps is still there from 2 days ago and now I have another stuck up there and it looks untidy.

From what I read so far, you need the updated Google Play App v3.9+ it gives you the ability to select which apps to remove from your "My Apps List" Hope this helps.

[Q] problem with downloaded apk from Google Play

I have a app in Google Play, that after some one installs it, it doesn't work. It's a UCCW skin. Anyway, if you install it from Google Play, it doesn't work, but when I side load the same apk file I uploaded to Google Play, it works. Any idea what the problem is, and how to fix it? I was thinking of just updating the apk, and load the new apk file into Google Play.
Edit: I tried updating the app, but I get the same results. It doesn't work after downloading from Google Play. Could it be the keystore?

try to install using kise... or any your mobile suit.
The problem isn't that I can't get it installed to my device, it's that I can't get it to work after instilled from Google Play... I side load the apk to my device, everything works, and I can see the skins in UCCW's list... But when I download it from Google Play it's self, it seems like it's installed, and it might very well be installed, because I can uninstall it from the device, through the devices settings... But it doesn't show up in the list of skins in UCCW... It's like the skin files are not downloading from Google Play...

Are you running the stock rom? And you may want to try and flash the gap's pack for your correct android version?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You can get better support if you become more specific. For example, what's your device, Android version. Did the rooting zip package contain any file which affected the Google Play Store? Try replacing the Play Store with another version using System Apps Installer. This app can be found on the web, since your Play Store is not working.
