My battery life seems to be worse now that I unlocked and rooted. I also have CWM installed. Anyone else notice this?
I have cleared my battery stats twice, and gone through a few charge cycles....maybe I will unroot and see if that matters.....certainly don't want to remove CWM.
Anyone seeing anything similar?

After root, unlock and TWRP I see the same if not better battery life, of course removed things with TiBu.

Where did you get your device unlocked? I haven't seen anywhere for the Razr Maxx HD.
You have to be on the XT925 (non verizon) or the HD Developer Edition on Verizon. None of the others can be unlocked.
Mine is the same.

So let me be clear. In this case, for this one forum. Unlock = unlocked boot loader? vs. SIM unlock?

Better battery life
I have nexus 4 with stock ROM and it's definitely better after rooting it.

If the fastboot screen says "Device unlocked", does it mean the phone's bootloader is unlocked?

Try to flash a custom recovery. Will work only if the device is unlocked.
It is a gift, so I am not sure if it is a dev version. Thanks guys, looks like I do have a dev one!
I would talk to one of the devs before doing anything

Hi all,
I have a XT926 rooted with a locked bootloader. This is a phone supplied to me by my employer so I am hesitant about unlocking the bootloader which to my understanding is NOT reversible.
My question is are there any roms that I can use with Safestrap that are at least 4.1.2?
Hey here is a ROM that is 4.1.2 based.

Thanks but that requires an unlocked bootloader.
I'm almost positive I did not unlock the bootloader till 4.2.2 even though it said in the description of 4.1.2 that I should. I could be wrong though it's been some time now.

OK, just traded my S3 for this bad boy and even though I can't unlock the boot loader its still awesome and I love it. I do have it rooted on the latest firmware but like I said, no unlock sadly. How much fun can I actually have with it just rooted but not unlocked?

You can now rest easy knowing that when you turn on your phone you wont be frightened by TouchPiss and the gawd awful button layout.
Now the fun really beings. Make your own mods. No more flashing broken roms and waiting for the dev to fix them. You start with the stable stock rom and mod it. Although my bl is unlocked this is what im doing.
Can I flash things without an unlocked bootloader?? I mainly want a kernel which might not happen. :/

What kind of build prop mods can I do to help with speed?

I don't know about build prop tweaks but have you ditched the stock launcher yet? Nova and Apex are both smoother and faster than the stock one.

Okay, I'm here at best buy looking to upgrade my droid razr hd to an lg g2 but they said I need to put my phone bank to stock before they take my phone as a trade in. Can I do that really quick while I'm here at best buy?
Thank you all in advance.

If you have a stock image, you can flash that and use supersu to perm unroot but the bootloader will still be unlocked

They didn't care about the bootloader being unlocked, they just want superuser gone. I don't have a stock image with me, how can I get a hold of one?

what i would have done is go outside for a few minutes and uninstall the su app. there is no way you could have flashed it in the store. @ home you can use this from your pc to flash it back to stock http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2474393 although there is no way to lock the bl back as previously stated.
Has anyone successfully unlock the bootloader on the Verizon Moto G XT1028??
I tried the Motorola website where I successfully unlocked the Moto X but I got an error. Is there any other way?
Nope. Nothing short of a Chinese middleman or another exploit will save the xt1028.

Well I mean technically we could root it without bootloader unlock, but there are no *publicly* known exploits. There is a 4.4.4 root method for the X, and if I'm not mistaken this could be ported to this device but I guess no one really wants to do it
