I am a little bit confused and overwhelmed at the same time with this tablet.
I own a MZ600, however i do not currently use the 3g. However i plan on eventually upgrading it(myself) with the 4g module.
I would like to upgrade the SW without losing the ability of the future wireless upgrade. I have flashed multiple different roms on here so i am familiar with fastboot and CWM flashing, as well as flashing via SBF if things get too harry.
Here is the confusion; from everything I have read, the MZ600 and 602 are one in the same; the 600 becomes the 602 via the HW and SW update of the 4g PCIe card.
From all of the research i have done on this, This is the only HW modification(along with 4g sim card) during the 4g/LTE upgrade. I have been unable to find any evidence to prove this wrong.
During the install, if sent to verizon/MOTO or done manually, the software is not installed until After the HW install. So what this should mean is that the XOOM should boot up with the PCIe card installed, however it will not be recognized due to lack of drivers and 4G will not be useable due to lack of Radio/Baseband and drivers, however the XOOM should still be fully functional as the original MZ600/3g device it was designed to be.

http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/motorola-xoom-general-discussion/18944-parts-convert-xoom-3g-4g.html
Code:
1. 4g software HLK75D build (get it here: MOTODEV > Products > Device Software )
2. 4g lte radio minipci board/antenna (easiest way to get this may be buying a damaged/nonfunctional 4g xoom/xyboard for parts off ebay)
3. 4g radio cdma lte baseband (get from xda developers site or here: http://goo.im/devs/teameos/radios/im...ios-update.zip)
4. Verizon SIM card (get from Verizon wireless)
5. Star/Torx (T5/T7) screwdriver (can be bought anywhere for less than $10) this is needed to remove two torx screws at bottom of Xoom so back will slide down, and giving access to lte radio pcie board slot
Only when the SW is flashed will it become an MZ602 and have the 4G connectivity.
As we know it is possible to flash the MZ604 builds to others, however it will deem all wireless(other than WIFI) useless and will no longer work.
So, the million dollar question that i have been unable to find anything about; Can you flash an MZ602 rom/image to an MZ600/3g Xoom? If the hardware is identical and the only difference is a miniPCIe card that has a non modifiable rom, the only differences is in the software of the xoom. Interms of the new wireless technology, the differences lie in the radio and baseband, however not having the module installed should not cause any issues with booting and functionality. As long as the boot loader, kernel and system are installed there should be no problems.
Likewise, if this Is correct, you should be able to flash between 600 and 602 builds(why you would want to, I do not know).

I was reading this Article and for what I understand Dev phone can't see paid application and some non paid to, the I though how is that I can see all the applications if I have a rooted phone.
I thought that when you have a rooted phone it was basicaly the same as a DEV phone without the nice back cover.
Can you correct me here plz.
thanks...
A rooted G1 is not identical with an ADP1, which explains why you have access and people with ADP1's do not.
Ironically they're blocking the ADP1, which people have bought fair and square and haven't (necessarily) modified in any way, but if you're on a G1 that you have rooted (modified) you have full access to paid apps. Kind of unfair, but what are you gonna do.
If I'm not mistaken the Dev phones come sim unlocked. True? Also is the physical body which is by appearance slightly different in color with a design on the back whereas the standard G1 just have the "Google" printed on them.
Yes, the ADP1 is sim-unlocked as well, and the back design is unique.
Here's a pic of the back of my ADP1...

Keep in mind that you can flash the ADP with the (optionally rooted) G1 image, and thus access the paid apps. You can also flash a rooted G1 with the ADP image, and thus lose access to the paid apps. You can also negotiate with T-mobile to unlock your SIM card.
At the hardware level the only difference is the plastic cover. Once you've unlocked the recovery image and/or the SPL you can switch between images freely (with a wipe). Note that if you don't have an engineering SPL (stock on the ADP) it will be a pain to get back to an unlocked state if you flash the standard G1 image, as it will flash the recovery image with one that will only accept the OTA keys. As long as the SPL is open you can use fastboot to reclaim your phone - otherwise you need to apply the root exploit.
Actually, i could not see the paid apps while rooted.
I downgraded and got to RC33 non rooted, but still cannot seem to see the paid apps.
Any ideas?
hi..

well in your post youve linked to software which is for the wifi only version(mz604)
you need to get the model number of your xoom, if it is MZ604 then it wont support 3g, are you sure its a 3g model??? make sure you find out which one you have before flashing any roms, as if you flash the wrong firmware you could ruin your device
i don't know the model number

i am sure its a 3g model that seller say the tablet 3G unlocked

I think it tells you in the settings somewhere, if not what type of back is on your xoom? Mine is wifi only and ots sort of grey silver colour, i beleive the 3g xoom has a black back, , so if yours is 3g itll have a black back if its a silver grey then its wifi only, also have you tried putting a sim card in it? Does anything appear in settings to select a network?b

There are in the top port for 3G sim card and SD card
That should be work
No all xoom Has the port on top mines also has the sim card port, but it does not have the radio hardware required to make a connection, so it will not work and there is no way to make it work
Sent from my Xoom using XDA
One last question ?
Can I see back your Xoom 3G .....
ok heres a pic of mine, like i said mines also has the slot for the 3g sim but it does not work it is wifi only
I have an unlocked AT&T Skyrocket SGH-I727 that is very picky about which SIM cards it accepts. I have seen a few similar forums, but nothing that fixes or seem directly applicable so want to start a new discussion.
No SIM Card
Similar problem but I'm not locked to any particular network, rather it is a few networks that work, a few that don't (all GSM).
No sim card error?? Any solutions??
My problem isn't no signal, it's no SIM.
"No sim" issue on Skyrocket
SIM card tray in my phone doesn't appear to be loose.
No signal after sim unlock
Not working at all, no solution.
I was running Cyanogen Mod with no problem on China Unicom (could use also China Mobile 2G) but on a trip last month to Bolivia was surprised that the phone doesn't accept any of the local SIM cards (such as Tigo, a GSM network) while an HTD Status and my backup SGH-i777 worked with all of these networks.
I tried a few different ROM's before flashing the i727 phone back to stock using Odin. Other than installing Team Win Recovery v2.2.0, it's plain stock, not even rooted. See below:
Android version 4.0.4
Baseband version Unknown
Kernal version 3.0.8
Build number IMM76D.UCLF6
While back in the US I tried several other cards, including an AT&T SIM, Straight Talk (actually from AT&T) and it also said no SIM. I've found that the China Unicom SIM works perfectly and a few others (see photo below) consistently work fine. I'd really like to get the phone working again on all of these GSM networks like my i777, HTC and i9300 do.
I've tried flashing three radios Radio_RIL__I727ATTKJ2, Radio_RIL__I727ATTKK1, Radio_RIL__I727RUXKJ7 but other than making T-Mobile 3G work, haven't helped me use any of the other SIMs.
Can anyone help with this? Should I be flashing another radio, replacing a part of the hardware (warranty isn't an option)? I'll buy a case of Redbull, Guinness or similar if I can get this working.

read returning to stock sticky, perform a reset afterwards, if still having issues, then either faulty phone, like sim tray or its contacts, or the unlocked method was fracked up in one way or another, try the free unlock method and see what happens, its in the 1stop sticky
I have a stock Rogers HTC OneX running the latest stock update 4.1.1. Not rooted, never had a custom installed on this particular device.
I am unable to use the mobile hotspot like I used to before the update. Both my laptops, my tablet and my TV can all connect to my HTC OneX with no issues. However, on each device, the connection is "Limited Connectivity" with no internet access.
I had originally thought it was the devices themselves and their settings. However, after using a friends device as a hotspot, each device connects perfectly with full connectivity. It has become obvious it is my OneX and it's settings preventing a full connection.
Here is where I ask you experts on how I may fix this issue.
Here are some SS of my current settings if it helps. Thank you for your help

Just wanted to follow up just in case other have the same issue as me.
After performing quite the bit of troubleshooting, I decided to call Rogers. Since the last time I have used me device as a hotspot, late fall, there have been two things that have happened. My data service got flipped over from HSPA to LTE and Rogers pushed out the HTC OneX 4.1.1 update. At first the tech was puzzled as my account seemed to be provisioned correctly. In the end, he removed tethering from my account, and reapplied it. This solved my issue immediately.
Before you jump in about Rogers and tethering; due note that Rogers USED to have a separate paid account feature for tethering. They removed this, and included tethering on all accounts, saying "data is data" which is a great thing. However, when rogers was ushering in LTE, originally they were NOT going to provision current users with HSPA data plans with LTE service. LTE data was going to be an extra feature you jumped over to for an extra cost, AND they were going have a separate provision code for tethering. This was shortly lived and just before LTE came out they announced that all data plans will be LTE compatible, with no extra charge so long as you had an LTE device. The old provision codes remained in the system and are supposed to be automatically added. Sometimes this does not happen or gets bugged causing my issue. This according the CSR Tech I spoke with.
TLDR; Out dated provision codes still in system and sometimes bug out. Rogers CSR reset my tethering feature and all is well and working.
I flashed a custom ROM and the on first screen my device asked to insert the PIN code, then i tried more than two times and it showed "Slot has been permanently blocked". I could't make any phonecalls And when i flashed my stock ROM it works normal.
Do you know how to unlock the SIM slot?
Thank you very much.

---------------------------------
If you truly believe the device is stolen or has otherwise been acquired through illegitimate means, we can't help you - you should contact the authorities and have the seller investigated. Stealing is a crime and stolen IMEIs are blocked for that very reason.
If not, first check that the phone supports the network frequencies that your carrier uses wherever you are - not all phones support all bands, and not all carriers support all bands either.
If you can tell us the make and model of the phone, we can point you to a device-specific forum in case it's a general problem or issue with that phone model.
Beyond that, you can try to take up with the manufacturer of the phone or the carrier if it's a carrier-branded phone.
I once had to make numerous called to my carrier's support line because my new imported phone was somehow registered in my carrier's database as a completely different kind of device, so the system kept kicking me off the data plan."

My device was not stolen, i bought it recently, if you guys want i could post the photography of the box.
I live in BRAZIL (BLU IV) and i am trying to install a custom room for a device which's made for INDIA(GIONE s5.5), the device, it self, is the same, what changes its the "software".I saw a video on youtube that someone from USA installed the same custom ROM and didn't get any problem.
I am apologies for this good English sirs.
If you enter the wrong PIN more than three times, the "slot" gets blocked and you can't use your SIM to connect to the network anymore. Newly bought SIM cards come inside one bigger card on which your PUC is written on. For security purposes, SIM cards require this code to be entered if they get locked down.
