1. Make full wipe
2. Use battery calibration for re-calibrated your battery
3. Try to set CPU Governor and I/O Scheduler

[Q] How long does your battery last and state your usage statistics

I'm starting to thinking that my battery is defect because I had Nexus S [sold] prior to purchasing another Nexus S, which I'm currently using.
It used to last me about a day, now it lasts about 5 hours.
I set it to auto brightness [which seems to use about 70% of my battery according to battery use on Settings].
I sync my school email every one hour, GMail, and few other SMS-alternative applications that pops up.
I have Live Wallpaper.
My settings were pretty much identical to my previous Nexus S so I'm not sure what exactly is wrong.
Any suggestions on improving battery life?
Is auto-brightness equal to better battery life or lowest (1) setting? I'm totally fine with auto brightness but I can't seem to see well outdoors when it's set to lowest brightness setting.
Do you use setcpu? It can help extend your battery life to last you throughout the day.

I set my CPU below 1 GHz when battery is under 50% but I can see it lag and since the battery seem to go down to 50% pretty quickly, I'm not sure if that's a feasible option.
16 hours, 55 minutes on battery ... and battery left = 69% ...
It was mostly on wifi, games, browsing, etc.
Mine lasts about 12 hours with fairly heavy useage. MSN messenger via beejiveIM, texts, emails via gmail and loads of web.
I bought a second (genuine) battery and an external charger so I always have 2 available and charged.
I tend to leave setcpu at 800MHz max unless I particularly need the horsepower, in which case I can bump it up to 1.4GHz if I need it.

The important part is to underclock your CPU to a very low clock when it's screen is off. That will boost your battery significantly

Yep, I checked my profile again and screen off is set to 800 max 100 min. Should I lower even more?
Temp > 50.0 C is 400 max 100 min
Charging is 1000 max 1000 min.
Battery < 50% is 1400 max 1000 min.

Best ROM for battery life ?

Hi all !
I'm looking for a battery saving ROM that works on Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100G , Cyanogenmod 9 is not working as fabulously as everyone is saying , it suck up about 1% for every 3 minutes on a average apps like Wordweb , Oxford dictionairy or Longman Dictionairy while on 300 Ghz min and 800 Ghz max and on powersave stratégie , that's even worse than the Official ICS and that's very disappoiting , i flashed CM9 like 3 times ! when i just do it , the apps sucks like 1% for every 10 minutes and that's at a low battery level (15% or 20%) but when i shut the phone and i fully charge it , the apps suck up 1% for every 3 minutes .... i don't know what's the problem !
So do you know any other Custom Roms that could get my life Battery extended ( i m wishing to get this up to 1% for Every 9-10 minutes ) ?
Because of the controversy and arguments they inevitably generate, "best ROM" threads are prohibited on XDA. Thread closed.

[app] switch OFF CPU core 1 or 2

hey i found it on XDA portal news today
go check here
it shuts off your one core of CPU
test it & post your results here :silly:
till now it has successfully switched off my core 1....... because i've just installed few minutes ago

Is this a battery saving measure?
If so does it work?
Performance?
atrix2 running majicmod
galaxy tab 2 3113 running cm10.1 nightlys
iPhone 4 traded for some computer work... just sits there...
cant say about battery (not much diff.) .... but performance has been affected lil bit
I tried that app for a few days. It seemed like it would prevent the phone from waking back up, because the screen wouldn't come back on. Evey time I would have to pull the battery and reboot. I finally uninstalled it and haven't had that problem since.
Isn't hotplug governor have that feature? so you dont affect performance and stability

i tried several governor & felt a lil decreased performance with single core being OFF
but anyway we can oc it n have our performance back ( in my opinion )
because i havent oc'd yet

I used to own a rarz i xt890 (2 ghz single core) and i can tell you that an OC'd core will never be as good as two cores working together , i run mine at min 300 mhz max 800 and never noticed any lag at all, phone lasts almost 12 hours ,on heavy usage (mp3 about 7 hours, like 3 or 4 hours of 3g browsing and like four or five 15 min calls) ,at night my batt drops 3% or 4 % (6 hours sleep) with wifi on, i think hotplug governor does a damn good job at saving batt and keeping your phone smooth as it could be with an locked bootloader

[Q] How long does your battery last?

Why is it that my battery drains super fast without doing anything just a simple text conversation and a couple of minutes playing candy crush? My brightness is set to low (almost lowest). Is it my battery too old?
I discharged 59% in 2 hours and 35 mns.
I suppose you have just flashed a ROM!
ROM info please.
In alpha9 with zram enabled you can set the max cpu to 600 without loose performance and that extend a lot the battery life. Just a suggestion

How do you do that? By the way, i flashed operation killjoy and i set my freq. there as 300-1000 ghz thru terminal emulator. How to do this zram? are you sure that i will lose 400 mhz and performace will not be affected?
For enable zram: Settings/performance/memory management/ enable zram 18%. I always flash killjoy too but dont use cputuner only entro_on. You can enable zram in CM or Remics7.1 and yes you can lower 400 mhz without loose performance, just try and you'll feel by yourself.
Obiously for some tasks like play heavy games is better to set the max mhz but for the rest 600 is more than enough.

I think it is the rom eating up the battery. Clean flash the rom again or flash a new one Use root uninstaller to remove unwanted apps. Use a battery saver utility.

It is posible to be the ROM that drain your battery so fast , not long time ago the battery drain was a problem for me to because i use to play games..a lot! ,after i flashed all custom ROM's and tested them,i found one that for our device i think it is smooth ,fast ,good for gaming and so so battery friendly .For example just now After 1h of CSR Racing, 45 mins of Asphalt 8 Adrenaline and 30 mins of Most Wanted ,30 mins of calls and some wifi ,i still have 15% and i have 1d2h28 min on battery..This without any tweak ,display set on auto.

(?) TricksterMOD dont stay in the values i put in!

hi, i have this device for almost 4 day's...already root it and etc, debloat the rom and now i have some kind of weird issue with TricksterMOD, when i put the min. and max. processor frequency they stick with that if i dont close the trickster app, if i close it the min and max stuck at max frequency avaiable and it's a battery hungry phone! My G3 if i put it in charge and next day i have the same 100%, but g flex2 eats almost 7% in standby mode for 12 hours!!
Even with MP decision turned on the device put the processor in max frequency in min and max values, if they want without i know that...anyone have this issue? how to solve it? i have to change the SE permissions??!
