Please Please people, when you take the work of others, Credit fully the work of others and refrain from taking undue credit, it doesn't cost you a dime & its open source after all !
What you have done here is even worse !
Modding Master Shifu bgcngm's cwmr 6012 & replace it with your name with some Hexeditor & claim that its yours, i know that trick too...Why don't you compile your own cwmr from sources since you are so great at hacking...
An ethical DEV/ modder/ programmer would have know Credit Where Credit's Due...
This has gone way too much & its not the first time i see such cases happening...
Just put this the other way round, how would you feel if others is doing the same thing to you...
Look at this chap here credit goes to:- I me and myself & credit goes to:- I me and myself, both of you must be brothers in software piracy...
If it wasn't for the great Master Shifu bgcngm sharing his unpack/ repack scripts to the world, until today we would be stuck at using Stock 3e recovery !
Please be a gentleman & an ethical programmer...

Yeoh Sahil bro, thanks for coming in clean...Personally, i have nothing against you & if not mistaken, i have seen you in one of my thread too, right...
i would be gladly to withdraw my message on both of your threads with the condition...
1) Update appropriate credits to your OP
2) Come here & hit the thanks button, that is the least you could do to show your appreciation to Master Shifu bgcngm for using his unpack/ repack script. Or you could spend him a beer since you are wrongdoing to him not me !
To an end-user they wouldn't have know or wouldn't even care if you mention credits. However, to fellow DEV/ modder/ programmer, it means alot to them...When you mention credits in the op, it means you appreciate, recognise, respect & you truly honored to the original DEV for their work that you have taken from...When you don't include credits, end-user will think you are doing all this work by yourself...You can also notice, even great/ well known DEV/ modder/ programmer all mention credits in their OP b'cos they give recognition to the original work/ person they have taken from too...
Most importantly, Point taken, lesson learned, thats all as i wouldn't want to involve forum moderator on such minor case...
As for you, afkfurby. i don't think Master Shifu bgcngm or for that matter of fact, anybody at all, would like their work hacked & replaced with your name in it...Or you could ask him directly yourself...
Fyi, Kadan, the DEV for Logobuilder has started a thread here at xda here too... Credits to fellow xda member EGY_STARS who inform me that he manage to 'track' down Kadan from russian site & most probably b'cos of that Kadan started his new thread here & share his updated tool that unpack/ repack logo.bin/ logo.img & boot_logo too... :good:
And i bet you guys haven't see this sticky by MOD Tom recently too...
No hard feelings
Cheers...

Do you mean custom rom ... ? I think need time to wait custom rom will available for public. I have similar phone with different brand. I bought in Bangkok in the last December 2012. Brand is MXNEC. Im interesting to this phone due to serve dual sim card. I do like Android dual sim phone and fit with my need. During couple days searching, I just realize the phone is MT6577 base (Mediatek). Many phone in Market based on MT6577 under various brand. I'm pretty sure they use similar kernel sources. Someone know where we can obtain kernel source for this device (MT6577). This device is declared as Galaxy S3 clone. How to ask moderator to open up NEW THREAD for this device MT6577 whatever the brand I believed we hold exactly similar device

Where are the download links for the official firmware???? It is useless having all the tools you can think of if you do not have the correct firmware!!

Flashing samsung omnia w

Can any one put a step by step guide to flash Samsumng Omnia W?
There is a lot of webpages like TSAR300 but flash Omnia W i8350 isn't possible to flash, I searched a lot and I think that never will happen.
The downloader (flash tool) doesn't work maybe because of bootloader theres no applications like MAGLDR to do it (Watch here).
So... Omnia W owners need to wait or simple forget flash.
DFT never told if they are working on a custom ROM
If there is a possibility to flash the mobile you need to have a box like this
Best Regards
Oh, I guarantee you there's a way to flash stock ROMs; that's more-or-less mandatory (you don't think they cut the silicon with the ROM already in it, did you?) The problem is that we don't have the tool. Samsung changed a significant amount of their phones' firmware and bootloader between gen1 and gen2.
Flashing custom ROMs, which requires an unlocked bootloader (see MAGLDR or xSPL), will have to wait until a way is found to replace or modify the stock bootloader... which might also require finding a flashing tool that works, but might not.

WTF?
oh that is not a good news..any way we will hope for the best
There's a Brazilian site with a i677 flash it's the same as Omnia W and there is a ROM that they confirm that is working. I have the tutorial and the ROM extension it's .smd and isn't .nb0 and they say that works... I don't know if is true because we need to pay for download, if anyone want it to try... just replay here after.
Anyone here can create a ROM 7720 in .smd ?
Tutorial With Downloader v3.8 Working
I677_OPEN_ZVVKJ9
I677_OPEN_ZTOKL1
I don't Know if any of those work with jailbreak method
No dont want to pay until someone can confirm any secure method.
Brazilian Theread Link confirm that the ROM is working.
The Last reply of zipikiki google translate the word CLARO to of course but ignore the of course word because CLARO is the name of a Brazilian operator
guy's i think exodusrasta made an awesome discovery becouse with this method we can downgrade or change firmware as we like, the problem is find the firmware for this phone, probably move this topic to devlopment forum would help alot. anyone in this forum tested this method?
my 2 cents
An improvement!
This is definitely a good find. A step improvement towards flashing Omnia W. Anyone please get the SMD file mentioned int he paid links and share if possible. The site charges approx. 50 USD for this SMD firmware file.
Comparisson
A good comparison here. But 1677 has not indication of chipset. But they are almost identical. Aesthetically and most aspects. But We have to be sure of the chipset.
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4159&idPhone2=4200
Guys!! both omnia w & i677 are same,
need a proof???just open the back battery cover of omnia w and you can see both the names printed in the inner side of battery cover (text is small in white but visible)
so pls its same n try to find the idea to flash or interop unlock to omnia w
The only firwmare in .smd extension that I found it's the i677 from brasilian site and the user that use it confirms that work 100%
I try to bought but the site just accept paypal (in the case of non-brasilian users), but i don't have a paypal acount. If someone get it and had feer to try it out, just share the file and I try it. Or someone buy it and we could share the price by bank transfer
did anyone find out somthing???
does that method work???
there is now .smd files on any firmware server for omnia w
I try to pay by bank transfer is +- 20€ but they had a restricts accounts
We need to had a CEP and a CPF (Brazilian zip code and ID) and then it is impossible to pay. I'm in contact with the administrator to try a solution.
In a near future I will try the file and I will tell here if it works.
There is two sites with the ROM
Link nrº 1
Link nrº 2
If someone try and succeed just say something.

Is someone working on a custom unlocked rom or not?
I was just waiting to install homebrew apps on my omnia W, but it seems as if no one is working towards unlocking the device on the least.
At least I could not find any updates regarding this?

i cook ROMs with Android Kitchen, use unpack/ repack scripts/ utils to peek inside boot.img/ recovery.img & make changes to it & flash & backup ROMs almost every alternate day via CWMR/ TWRP...
A year back, all these are not possible & it has never come across my mind that i've been taken advantage of these great tools shared by these great DEVs...
Credits to Klown80, he has sort of kick me in the butt & this is the reason i'm starting this thread to pay our dues & rewards to all these great Master Shifu's...
So please go to those threads & start hitting those buttons to reward them for the great job they have done for us...
Buy them either breakfast, lunch or dinner is entirely up to you...
Arrange in Alphabetical Order
Thanks to Master Shifu bgcngm for sharing his unpack/ repack scripts to the world or we will be stuck at using Stock 3e recovery on MTK SoC until today...
Thanks to Master Shifu carliv for developing CTR recovery specially for MTK SoC so that it will fit to its limited 6Mb recovery partition...
Thanks to Master Shifu codeworkx for developing BBQLinux now everyone can kick-start Android Development ...
Thanks to Master Shifu dsixda for his Android Kitchen or we won't be able to cook ROMs on MTK SoC...
Thanks to Master Shifu Javum for looking into those source code or we won't be having TWRP on our MTK SoC...
Thanks to Master Shifu Koush for his clockworkmod or we won't be able to use cwmr to flash custom ROMs & do backups. Buy an app here... ROM Manager is not compatible for use at our MT65xx however, b'cos of Master Shifu Koush share his source code, DEVs are able to compile a working cwmr on MT65xx...
Thanks to Master Shifu Michfood for his Repack Utils or we won't be able to Unpack/ Repack boot/ recovery.img directly on Win OS... You are spare from the hassle to install linux or cygwin & learn all those command line interface (i hate cli)...
Thanks to Master Shifu Phil3759 for adding MTK support to PhilZ Touch CWM Advanced Edition... :good:
Thanks to Master Shifu rua1 or we won't be able to backup MTK SoC Factory ROM & use it for unbricking & many many more...
Thanks to Master Shifu Dees_Troy & TeamWin or we won't be able to use TWRP to flash custom ROMs & do backups...
Now, if you see & notice closely, each & every DEVs above are actually interlink to each other which means if any one of them doesn't develop & share, our MTK devices will be very dull & feature-less...
So what are you waiting for, start hitting all those buttons to show your gratitude to them for their great work done on MTK SoC & i'm sure they will continue to bring us more goodies & updates too...
Last but not least, did you notice that i have a GOLD STAR beside my name, head to here to show your support too...
There was once someone ask me what is Master Shifu & How does he looks like....
Give Credit Where Credit is Due...
Cheers...

All the Dev's you listed should get a donation for there help and hard work. I cannot guess how many hours of there time these guy's give freely so to give a little support buying them a Pisa or a beer while they are stuck to the PC scripting away is the least we can do :good:
Wait a minute, are you saying we might see a less riskier dev market for MTK devices? In that case, its about time. Ive been mulling owning an Android device, but only as a watch phone. Maybe one of those 3 inch concepts with USB ports that came out years back. Personally, I never consider a device credible if the aftermarket tweaking isn't up to scratch.
Yeoh man, where have you been, my friend...
Your MTK watch phone development thread is here... And there are many many more here...
i believe it all started when Master Shifu bgcngm release his unpack/ repack scripts to the world...
At the company i work for, use the keyword how many manhour have you use for this project, where is the cost center for this job while these great DEVs, just as above bigrammy says, they do it for free so i guess its time to full swing Operation RMD...
I agree, awesome stuff and without you all the MTK SoC would just be a non starter for tweaking and modding
Yup...Yuweng bro!! We came to know each other on a dull day with not able to repack our boot.img properly.....i just wonder how things moved on quickly and we all now belong to a big community.
My sincere thanks to all devs and Yuweng bro for helping me in most of my works related to MTK.

[Resolved] [Q] How to root an Hyundai SP Octa Eagle 5"?

Hyundai SP Octa Eagle 5″ (Dual SIM, MT6592 based, KK 4.4.2, 1GB RAM, 8GB Flash)
Since there seems to be no specific help at XDA-Devs for this device, I decided to open this thread to help anyone interested...
After much fiddling, I managed to root this phone by following s7yler instructions for a very similar phone:
JIAKE X3S MTK6592 1.7GHz Octa Core 5.0 Inch HD Screen 3G
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2662812
I didn't succeed right away, so I also tried TowelRoot and Kingo, which also didn't work.
FYI, s7yler method also didn't work immediately: since I had already synchronized with my previous Google account and had a small OTA firmware update, I had to boot the phone into the "Factory Recovery" (Vol.Up+Power) and do a "Factory Reset" (bypass "no command", Vol.Down to move highlight, and Vol.Up to enter).
I then had the phone with no SIM or memory card (the default wallpaper was different, too), upon which I refrained from connecting to any wifi, and then retried the procedure that I had already tried many times before.
The VROOT application s7iler links to from his thread was unable to get the job done; I had to resort to "MT6592 ROOT TOOL 1.0" (from http://vondroid.com/resources/mt6592-root-tool.456/, free registration required), which is nothing but an unpacked older version of VROOT, which was able to update itself to a different version than the official one at the site and finally cracked the nut.

Don't forget to install Chainfire's SuperSU afterwards (and then you can get rid of the Chinese apps installed in the process, if you wish so)...
NOTE: there have been various reports around XDA-Devs forums that VROOT might be malware, so YMMV...
EDIT: just found a set of previous instructions for rooting this SOC at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2619101.

EDIT3 (IMPORTANT): if after a reflash, you start seeing a "NVRAM ERROR 0x10" (or the lagging originated by it) in your Hyundai EAGLE, you need to make it go away by following the procedure detailed at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2730486 (ROOT REQUIRED)...
One further question remains: how to install a reliable recovery (CWM/TWRP) fit for this model? Tips welcome... :cyclops:
EDIT: And... I have Recovery (check 1st hidden image in present post). By following instruction from this post at the MTKDroid-Tool thread, it as simple a clicking a couple of times. I'd rather have a bigger font or a touch recovery, but hey, beggars can't be choosers...
EDIT2: And (again)... one must only ask -- I now have fully touch TWRP recovery v2.7.1.0 (stable) installed (see 2nd hidden image below), thanks to yuweng's excellent tutorial/utility:

I disliked the default Hyundai boot up animation, so I searched for alternatives; the following instructions totally work for the EAGLE:

I need Help
Hi Sir, i need your help to port SOME rom to my device sc7731 marshmallow based, i have ported a twrp 3.0.2 working perfectly but now i want to create a custom rom like cm13 or RR for my device, i have tried your porting method, anothers posts, but, nothing working for me,when i use the ported boot.img, not working, it stuck at bootlogo.
I tried porting RR-M rom using my stock boot.img, it passes the bootlogo screen but it stuck on the bootanimation, i have read many posts and i have ported the rom replacing libs,bin,......etc..... i'm sure that the problem is on the Boot.img

there is a nice guide on Advan S4p official Group on FB download the ROMs from there only if you download ROMs from somewhere else you need to do do lot of changes to make it compatible to your device. As you you think the problem is in the boot.img yes there might ba a lot chances. Have you replaced the modules in ramdisk/lib while porting boot.img and make sure that you replaced the mali.ko also grab it from System/lib/modules of stock ROM.

Should I seriously replace ramdisk/lib/modules/mali.ko with system/lib/mali.ko? I mean ... the mali.ko of my system weighs 57 bytes while that of my stock boot.img weighs 4mb (sorry for my bad english, i'm from Ecuator)

Is there a mali.ko in your stock boot.img then use it to port don't replace with the one in system/lib/modules. In my case I don't have mali.ko in my boot.IMG then I had to use the one from system.
have you read the guide in Advan Group? If not then go through it once you'll get some clarity. Don't fear about size the mali.ko file will be that size only it is the module which handle GPU. And for the language don't bother because what knowledge you have does matters it doesn't matter that how you share it. Never feel sorry for little things like this you can manage to speak and understand more than one language it's great.

it's because of boot.img you need to compare the following files of port files with stock files and modify them accordingly
fstab.sc8830
init.sc8830_ss.rc (the related lines may be found in stock init.storage.rc).
There are some guides in Advan Group for fixing bugs like Wi-Fi and camera see in the files section you'll find solutions/guides and also search in the group if you have any doubt which may be already asked by someone else by this way you'll find answers quickly use the logcat extreme app for seeing logs which will help you too see what causing the issue them you can easily resolve the bug.

thanks a lot, it was exactly what i was suspecting of the storage bug, i can understand what you say, but a little bit, i need to compare it, yes, luckily i have an init.storage.rc file located on my stock boot, what i don't understand is comparing and changing the lines, and.... please help me to solve the wifi & bluethoot issue ;-;

Next time PM me don't reply here.
Compare the following lines with the fstab.sc8830 of your stock file
Code:
# /devices/sdio_sd/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:*/block/mmcblk1 auto auto defaults voldmanaged=extSdCard:auto,encryptable=userdata
# /devices/20200000.usb/usb auto auto defaults voldmanaged=usbdisk:auto
/dev/block/zram0 auto swap defaults zramstreams=4,notrim
and in init.sc8830_ss.rc see if there any lines that match with the lines of init.stotage.rc it may look like lot of mess but you have to go by trail and error the difference is because of different Mounting structure of SD card from marshmallow you can mount external SD card as either internal (you install apps on external) or as portable used for storing files only can't be used for installing apps. even apps can't store the data on SD card.
hey there is another way of fixing storage bug that is with the help of SU.D script (you can see it in system partition after flashing the ROM) the script is IntextSDcard or something but I don't have that script few months back while porting CM13.1 I have read in Advan S4p official group about that but unable to fix but I think at that time I don't have sufficient knowledge anyway I just left porting because there are some bugs that can't be fixed in my device because my device is shipped with KitKat. I think, but not sure, this was already included in the ROM by the one who made it compatible with our device.

Follow the guide of KitKat for fixing bugs some of the bugs can't be fixed easily for ex: rotation (don't know why fix provided by dev isn't working it's may be a problem in boot.img) for more help look in Advan group there are posts and docs for fixing bugs and porting the ROM properly.
sir my recovery image is recovery-sign img, I can't install with spd flash tool if I change its stock recovery with twrp, and even fastboot. not any error message appear but it like stuck loading. is it still possible to my phone can have root access here

Question When are Custom Roms available

Hello first, I am new here.
I bought the smartphone Realme GT Neo 2 since 1 week. Now I wanted to ask when can we expect custom roms?
See, We got our kernel sources on November 2 if i am not mistaken.
Now our development team is only waiting for the bootloader to get unlocked [ realme is delaying it].
Once we can unlock our bl, things will be pretty easy and you can expect custom support pretty soon.
Join the official telegram channel of the group to know more.
Sorry for asking so stupid?
Is the kernel and the bootloader separate.
What I wonder is how does that work?
Where does the team get the kernel and drivers?
And how does the team unlock the bootloader?

Yep, kernel and bootloader are different.
The kernel is the main stuff in a device. It is a bridge between the hardware and the software. Basically we can control the hardware of a device using software through kernel.
Kernel is released by the device manufacturer [realme github page].
here is a simple image showing how kernel works:

bootloader is hmm, let me attach result from web heh -
Rich (BB code):
In the simplest terms, a bootloader is a piece of software that runs every time your phone starts up. It tells the phone what programs to load in order to make your phone run. The bootloader starts up the Android operating system when you turn on the phone. This is a pretty important job, so it’s very important that nothing goes wrong with it.
unlocking it allows the user to flash different roms onto the device.

There is an app called- deep test apk . It is provided by realme. By installing it we can check if our device is capable of unlocking bootloader or not.
The company has to allow the device to be able to unlock its bootloader , which realme is not allowing as of yet.
We dont know why they are doing it and have asked them end number of times in twitter as to when they will allow for us to unlock, but they said we should wait as they dont have much information regarding it.

So now all we can do is wait. Lets have patience.
Kernels are released, means unlock should be possible soon.
All we can do is hope.
And only then can the Lineage Os team program their system so that it runs for the Smartpohne without problems.
The drivers have been programmed in the C programming language.
But can not the drivers themselves programming halt with a programming of Xda forum. there you can but that directly from Qualcomm herbekommen since the SoC is from Qualcom.
With Mediathek SoC you can not program a Custom Rom.

i couldnt understand much of that part, but mdk based devices have customs roms now.
I think they will release it when they release their own software for Android 12. Only then, or not at all.

bootloader unlock-ability is given by the company. They have to enable our device from their end.
We at present can do nothing.
Yes you told me that.
What I meant was whether you as a person can actually program in any programming language. Can you code
