I'm pleased to present my MoDaCo Custom Jelly Bean ROM for the 3G Nexus 7! READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU START! No, really, it contains everything you need to know.
About MoDaCo Custom ROMs
MoDaCo Custom ROMs are based on official ROMs. A MCR release is designed to feel like a stock ROM with optimisations, tweaks and complimentary additions that enhance the user experience. The aim of a MCR is to be ultra reliable for use on an everyday device.
Requirements
In order to use this ROM you must have a custom recovery installed. The ROM is installed at your own risk. A wipe IS recommended if coming from a ROM other than MCR or stock. BACK UP YOUR DEVICE BEFORE INSTALLATION!
MCR Nexus ROM features Include... (many optional via the Online Kitchen) - check kitchen defaults for what is in the prebake:
Based on the 4.2.2 / JDQ39 release, updated, rebuilt, compressed and optimised with the MCR build system.
For this MCR we've used the latest available shipping ROM, updated with all the latest versions of the installed apps, which we've run through our scripts to ensure that it is as optimised as possible both for install / download size and real life performance.

De-odexed... re-odexable.
Our ROMs are de-odedex, giving you the ability to flash other mods over the top, tweak the system and generally get the system set up as you want it without worrying about odex issues. We also include the 'OdexMe' application, which lets you odex your system when you're ready, saving valuable space on your data partition.

Pre-rooted
All MCR ROMs are pre-rooted with SuperSU preinstalled. In addition, the kitchen allows you to choose between secure, insecure and secure with patched ADB boot images.

Enhanced Quick Settings
The quick settings in Android 4.2 are cool, but limited. MCR builds include a customised version of the excellent 'Quick Settings' mod by kevdlui, allowing you to customise your toggles by holding the Settings button down. The WiFi and Bluetooth buttons are also changed to toggles - long press to access the settings menus.

The enhanced power menu (the one that appears when you hold down the power button) has additional options to allow you to reboot and reboot to recovery.

Apps aren't disabled on boot
Jelly Bean added a feature to disable apps on boot that aren't intended for your region (Wallet, Ears, Magazines etc.). I think we're smart enough to make that decision ourselves right? So that doesn't happen in a MCR.

Legacy Play Store
Isn't it frustrating how Google removed the ability in the Play Store to see which apps you'd bought in a nice simple list? I thought so... so I created 'Legacy Play Store', which has this feature.

Legacy browser and Flash
Google might be ditching the stock browser for Chrome and Adobe might have canned Flash, but we still need to use it sometimes... so it's included in a MCR.

Patched Google Wallet
We've patched Google Wallet to remove all region and root checks, so you can have a play!

Facebook sync support
Google removed all support for syncing contact information via the Facebook app, we put it back. It's basic support (an app like HaxSync is more fully featured) but hey, it works!

The init.d directory is processed on boot, allowing our (and your) startup script to be processed before the system starts up.

MCR Nexus 7 ROM specific features Include... (many optional via the Online Kitchen) - check kitchen defaults for what is in the prebake:
Alternative UI options (clickable when hidden menu keys with alternate locations, search button)
A number of different UI options are included - the default option makes the legacy menu button available on both sides of the screen for easy reach and also keeps them active when invisible, handy if there's a pesky menu button at the top right that you can't quite get too! You can also bring back the good old search button. In stock Android the navigation bar always stays at the bottom - in the kitchen you can choose to have this move to the right. Finally, percentage battery meters are also included in stock style and round style.

Restart your device in recovery mode

Due to limits on my time and the fact that I have a large number of devices for short periods of time, it isn't possible for me to continue providing ROM updates indefinitely. Great !
The only missing feature is now phonecalls !

This looks good, i will probably give it a whirl. when it says 'sms enabled', how does that work? i have the prepaid AT&T data plan in the States with the included SIM, which does sort of come with a phone number, but is intended for reference purposes.
thanks, and downloading now i love that the stock JB browser is included!

Hey, first of all great ROM and I'm looking forward to installing it on my Nexus 7 3G when I get it in few days. However, I have one question about phone calls. What happens when somebody tries to call you? I'll use my SIM card for text messaging. Will I be out of reach or something like that?
Thanks in advance!

You must make a backup on first and wipe all before the flash.
The ROM is installed at your own risk. The ROM should be installed using ClockworkMod. A wipe IS required if coming from another ROM or a pre-Ir11 release. BACK UP YOUR DEVICE BEFORE INSTALLATION!

In the future, when updates are released, you can just flash without wiping hence keeping all your data. This is the case unless there are major deviations from the original base ROM. That said, if you don't mind losing data, I'd always recommend a wipe.
Regarding the ROM, I can't wait to try this tonight (3D Gallery, Lockscreen )....... Why do I have to work, why do I have to eat and why oh why do I have to sleep??
Will report back any issues etc.
Thankyou once again for all the hard work.

if you did uncheck the defaults at Applications/software, HTC Sense, then when you press Home button, you dont get a question which launcher to start?

About Us & ROM:
The first generic Android platform for current and future Droid devices. We are a bunch of mad hackers, modders and developers that were not happy with the current model of Droids being "Blurred" so we began a mission to rid our devices from the blurriness of VZW Android systems. It started with a crazy idea of messing with the Droid2 SDK that has turned into a full fledge AOSP generic type of ROM. We have incorporated many features that were only seen in AOSP ROMs before this. Some of the features include Reboot in Power Menu, custom built Framework, vanilla Android GUI, totally blur free app folder and many more AOSP like features to come in the short term future.
Features:
True Vanilla ROM with generic Android feel, not themed to look line one. No blur apps...
Reboot in Power Menu.
Custom Framework - 10% battery increments with display percent number & without.
Overclock ready out of box.
Lots of free memory.
ROM has root and has been deodexed, and zip alligned.
Busybox installed and symlinks have been applied.
Clean base for you to customize how you like.
And many more...
Fission ROM Manager:
Fission ROM Manager (FRM) is a utility we developed to make modifying your Droid phones much easier. It was designed for the new Android user but also very useful for the more advanced user. You can download ROMs, themes, updates add ons and much more. Once your downloads are done you can install everything within Android. No need to go into recovery any more.

Custom contact ringtones may be fixed, key word being “may”.
USB Tethering enabled, need tether plan for it to work. Working on free hack
Notepad as been updated to latest version.
Do not use any themes that are not made for 2.5.5.
Themers…just update to the new framework, nothing else has changed.
DX Builds coming later today and then D2 Global builds.

Removed Sound and Speach Recoder
Added new Sound Recorder that can be launched from App Draw
Added 10% Battery Display option to FRM. Will reset current theme back to Stock Fission.
2.4 -> 2.4.2
DX build gets new framework whcih should fix the random USB reboot when plugging in.
All previous fixes are now included
Latest Android Market
More Code Cleaning
Full version ROMs and Upgrades are available. Upgrade will only replace packages. It will not wipe app or framework folder.
No reason to wipe cache or data if coming from Fission ROM for either Full ROM or Upgrade.
2.2.1 -> 2.4
All Devices are now equal. Perform and look the same.
Framework improvements all around. Colors, placement of graphics...lots of little changes.
Almost all apps for each device have been rebuilt from source. Either from AOSP source or Moto source.
Each device now has device specific apps. Will help of future Blur add on. Many people been asking for many different Blur apps so there will be an add on Blur package. Blur package will be heavily modified Blur services and then each app will be an individual add on.
MMS menu compose graphic now fixed.
Phone mute fixed.
Rebuilt Moto Apps (MediaGallery, Cam and Music) are now standard. They work better and will help with Blur add on. Generic Android Apps will be available on FRM.
All devices now use Moto Multi-Touch keyboards. They are themed as Generic Android Keyboards.
More cleaning of code and tweaks...
Few other changes I can not think of right now
Small bug with Global ROM. If you need to activate, slide out keyboard and hit the number key you need to use.
No need to wipe data or cache if coming from previous Fission ROM; however the installer will wipe your system folder so back up any changes you have made to your system folder.
DO NOT USE 2.3.1 Themes. They will work but you will lose lots of changes. Themers are working hard now to update themes.
I must say these are the best Fission ROMs so far. Lots of love and hard work went into them.

Can someone post D2_Music and D2_Camera? I don't have an addons folder.
Is there anyway to have the EQ/sounds enhancements installed in this rom? I like for the speaker(wasn't that good for my phones for some reason).
Also, what is the purpose fission rom manager? I have installed, but not sure what use it has yet? Thank you for the nice work.
As a side note I had to use the D2 and swype keyboard install from 2.1 to properly get haptic feedback when typing working.

I do not think they work without blur...
Anyway to check?
So, can you please elaborate more on the fission rom software?
Out of curiosity, how long do you think it will probably take for 2.2.2 to be up for D2 after you get it up for DX? I want to upgrade from 2.1, but since 2.2.2 is right around the corner, I figure I out to wait...
Unless its preferred to installed 2.2.2 over 2.2.1 via the ROM manager (in which case, I'll upgrade today)
Thx!
I got 2.2.2 off the rom manager last night all seems good.

@Angdroid, I post them cus it will save some space in the thread...
And one more thing, I been running 2.2.2 for over 24 hours now and its the best yet! No reboots, super smooth and fast. The ONLY thing so far is you cant set songs as ringtones, but who cares
Can someone tell me how to go about reinstalling DLNA? I tried it via root explorer by adding in the systems/app folder, but no dice. I even marked the appropriate check marks in properties of both apk per instructed in another thread, but again no dice. Any ideas?

Oxygen is an AOSP source built ROM (ie. not a mod of any sense based ROM), it's minimal, it's superfast and mostly bugfree.
As Oxygen is not a mod/port of any HTC/CyanogenMod or any other ROM and may not be to everyones liking, it's minimalistic and basic but I'm open to ideas and suggestions for improving the ROM.
Features
Android v2.3.4 (GRJ22) built from AOSP
Linux kernel v2.6.35.x
Minimal Google apps
Superuser
Busybox
Apps2SD
Additional features
Adhoc wifi network support
Advanced power menu with reboot options
Customizable overclock settings
Customizable status bar power widget
Download any file type
Enhanced auto backlight settings
Facebook contacts sync
FM Radio
Headset Icon
HSPA Icon
Improved widget picker
Long press back to kill mod
Modified Launcher2 with quick uninstall
Optional battery percentage
SIP calling over 3G
Text reflow when zooming
Track change with volume buttons
Various other tweaks and features
Installation
A wipe is required when first flashing Oxygen, however, unless otherwise stated, no wipe is needed to upgrade between versions.
Download update-oxygen-xxx-signed.zip to your sdcard storage on your HTC Desire
Boot into ClockworkMod Recovery through whatever method you choose (ROM Manager, Power + Volume Down, ADB etc...)
Back up your existing installation
[First flash only] Use the volume keys and optical joypad button to select Wipe Data
Select Install Zip from SD Card
Find the update-oxygen-xxx-signed.zip file you downloaded earlier
Scroll through all the No's and hit Yes, install update-oxygen-xxx-signed.zip
Wait for the installation to finish
Select Reboot
After initial reboot, reboot a second time and you're all set

Android development is a hobby for me, the Android community has been good to me and I enjoy what I do, I don't do it for any personal gain or gratification so if you like Oxygen and would like to show appreciation for the time and effort me and other people have put into it then I would very much appreciate it if you could donate to the 'childhood leukaemia' charity I support, you can donate via Paypal or by card/cheque, thanks for taking the time to read this and thanks for donating if you choose to .

To further assist development of the Oxygen ROM - AdamG has now moved to a new official forum. XDA will still see user support for a long time yet, but if you've got more serious issues, have a feature request etc it's recommended to take it up on the new forum.
Likewise, XDA will not be updated with the latest releases (to encourage people to use the new forum) - these releases can be found here
Screenshots! Default home screen, info page, and power widgets are there
ALL NON-DEVELOPMENT QUESTIONS PLEASE POST OVER IN THE OXYGEN FAQ
NOTE - YOU WILL NOT BE ASSISTED UNLESS YOU ARE RUNNING THE LATEST VERSION AND HAVE ATTEMPTED A FULL WIPE
Do I need to do a full wipe? Between major version changes - yes - it's highly recommended. If you're simply upgrading from the previous version then no you don't need to wipe.
What A2SD does this support? Oxygen 2.0 supports "froyo style" apps2sd, it also supports A2SD with an EXT3 or EXT4 partition. By default the dalvik cache is not moved to SD for performance reasons - see here for dalvik2sd script. D2SD/D2W scripts will work - but please take this up in their respective threads if you have questions to ask.
What radio should I use? My personal recommendation is to try your stock radio first. There's no single recommended radio as all hardware versions and carriers are different - what works for one person might be terrible for the next.
Why is there no trackpad wake? It takes hacks - basically It won't be included in the Oxgyen rom, however if you need it another user has created a flashable patch here.
Where did 720P recording go? Google didn't enable it on the N1 update, so given that Oxygen is kept as hack-free as possible it's not here either. Video quality is still great and suits playback on the Desire perfectly. (thanks wlee2)
Do i need to be S-OFF or have Oxygen hboot? No, the rom will work S-ON and with any current hboot layout. However the recommended set-up is S-OFF and Oxygen R2 hboot. Note - this will NOT work with a /system below ~100mb any more - hence "current".
M.
Note - all outdated issues removed, no point trying to support people who can't be bothered updating
Thanks Adam!
Google have clean their code up once again quite a lot and a number of mods need to be rewritten due to this, items broken are listed below,
Long press on volume rocker to change music tracks
Trackball wake/unlock
FM Radio

Hobson's choice : Flash this one or continue with Dev-Null version?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I am currently running [ROM-GINGERBREAD GRI40] DevNull-TEST.
Is this new Oxygen update pretty much the same?
What would i gain from flashing this instead of above?
I am very happy with the rom i am using at the moment but miss the power widgets in the dropdown notification bar, is there an easy way to install this?
Can i update to this without wipe from above rom??
Thank you.
Just a fast question do an upgrade from RC7 require a wipe?
And if yes or no, could you please note that it does/does not require a wipe from the RC7 on the main page.

After updating to this from RC7, my Google account has disappeared and I can't add it back because there is no "Google account" option in the "Add an account" window.
Because of that, all of my contacts have disappeared and market isn't working.
Wtf? Did anybody have that issue too?

NOTE: THIS IS NO LONGER A ROM. IT IS PURELY A SCRIPT TO FLASH OVER ANOTHER CM9 BUILD WHICH WILL THEN STRIP IT TO BAREBONES. DONT FLASH THIS ON ITS OWN!!
Introducing Sharpy STRPT CM9. WARNING: Flashing this script will cause your CM9 build to become STRPT, this mean faster, more memory and better battery!
I realised i dont use many native apps, instead choosing to install my own apps from the market or other sources. This means all the native apps do is take up space on my device. If you are the same then maybe, just maybe, this script is the one for you!

Afetr flashing this script the resulting ROM is not meant to be used 'as is'. You should install your own versions of apps such as gallery and sms.
Features:
Fully stripped for more memory and speed
New boot animation
Its probably easier to list the things that are left rather than what ive removed!
Calendar
Camera
Clock
People
Phone (Dialer)
There's probably more that ive forgotten but ill update when i remember!

You can compile Cyanogen without the bit's you don't want
Just edit the .mk files in ~/android/system/build/target/product/ and remove the ones you don't want

functionality
would you please list what is working and what is not.
I do like the idea of a naked ROM, since most of stock apps i replace in the zip file before flashing on the phone.
since any OS is just a layer between the hardware and user applications, it would be nice to know that all hardware is working as expected.
particular questions about WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS lockup time, battery life
on GB I has posted question about WiFi connectivity - would be nice to compare it now
and btw calendar app might be removed as well - I like the alternative one.
love the idea of this rom. hope you keep updating as cm9 continues updating.
Love the idea too!
Before I flash ii, how can I
-get stock keyboard and remove current one?
-add music and gallery from CM9(do I need only apk's or I need some other libs ?)

Ill make some flashable zips containing original ime, cm9 music and cm9 gallery. To get rid of the keyboard currently in the rom either delete the Thumb_Keyboard_v1_5_1.apk from the zip, before you flash the rom, then flash it, then flash the standard ICS keyboard ill upload in a bit. The other way is to flash the standard ICS keyboard zip and then uninstall thumb keyboard using titanium.
Gallery, Music and original ICS keyboard flashable zips are now in post 2 under 'Add-ons'
To remove thumb keyboard use Titanium backup.

No problem. Let me know what you think of the rom!
I like this idea a lot so I figured I would try it out. My first negative is for some reason my home button does not work. It vibrates when I press it but it will not take me to the home screen or bring up the recent app list.
Other than that its great! Very speedy. I like the idea of being able to use my own apps.
EDIT: Also the lock screen doesnt work. Did you remove it?
Thats weird. My home button works perfectly as does the lockscreen. I take it you did a full wipe etc first?
Also check md5 of your download: V0.03 is 624644f5b063604bd3e6d7841c5b5b8c

Downloading via ROMRaid is a pain. I gave up on it. I realize you have to make money but this should never interfere with simple utility.
Please give us a hassle-free mirror. Thanks.
