[Q] Best kernel for undervolt? - Samsung Galaxy S (4G Model)

With octane rom for gb? Thanks

I always used antonxs kernel

You should also give the Blastoff kernel a shot. It's got antonx's kernel modifications and more updates to the wifi driver and other things.

Kernel with voodoo

NOOB ALERT!
Is there a difference installing kernel with voodoo and a kernel that doesn't have voodoo. Like i have EB 2.3.5 ROM currently with morfic T15 no voodoo and i want to try faux kernel with voodoo. It should be the same installation process right. By the way , i have no problem with the T15 kernel , i just want to try faux kernel. Thanks in advance for the answer.

Check their respective threads first but just wipe cache/dalvik, install kernel, then fix permissions and reboot.
If u want other differences between the kernels I recommend reading the 1st post of each one's thread for an overview.

Sorry for the double post!

Installation is the same. If I'm nit mistaken voodoo is something to sound control. Don't know much more then that though, sorry.

Overclocking

How safe is it exactly?
I can't yet post in the developer thread. But I did it, opened SetCPU, and noticed nothing changed. Did I do something wrong? I used the CM Kernel.
CM Kernel isn't capable of overclocking. You'll need Faux123's or Morfic's kernels.
So is it safe if I install that one with the cm kernel installed on it?
Or is there anyway of removing the cm kernel?

Kernels overwrite the currently installed one. Ttabals dragon kernel will also work. Do the homework before flashing though. Everything you'll need is in the development section. Overclocking and undervolting each have risks, so does changing your ROM. Follow instructions exactly.

Yea I've been doing my homework plus I have some past experience with flashing windows mobile devices

You have to flash a kernel like the infusion gb kernel that's able to be overlocked ....go to bedwas kernel thread(im not home right now or i would give u a link) it should say [kernel]infusion now with two cores to choose from and down load one of those...i suggest core a2 so the ffc works...then go to the market and download sgs kernel flasher ..its free...open it up..allow root permissions find the kernel you downloaded..flash it and it will reboot...then you can oc to 1.6...hope that helped

Infinity kernel?

Hey everyone. I'm wondering if you recommend useing the stock repacked kernel it comes with or the imoseyon 4.0 kernel?
Sent from my SCH-I510 using XDA App
If you don't need init.d, the extra governors, custom boot animations, or CIFS support, I'd go with Infinity kernel. If you need any of those, use imo.
I just want the most speed and stability. Are they both about the same?

I would bet on Infinity in that case. It has less done to it, so there is less to go wrong.
Ok sounds good

[Q] How to overclock

Hey guys I heard there was a way that you can overclock the Verizon Galaxy s3 using terminal emulator. If so can some pleade tell me how. If not can you tell me how to overclock my phone anyways.
By the way I am using the clean rom v5.6
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda app-developers app
Cleanrom uses the stock kernel which you cant overclock. You can flash kt747/leankernel/faux and then you can overclock via a app like setcpu or system tuner.
Can I continue to use the clean rom and still flash a new kernel?

Yes, take any touchwiz jb kernel find them in the android original dev section, follow directiosn, then if it has its own app like ktweaker for kt47 kernel, use that, if not, voltage control free from the play store works well.
or you can pay to get the SetCPU app. I also suggest getting a ktoonsez kernal with the app built in. Lets you adjust more than setcpu
