If you guys haven't checked out mobo player you should. They just added that window effect that the GS3 has. Its amazing on our tablet. Here is a screenshot of me playing final fantasy 3 while watching the first episode of The Big Bang Theory which I ripped from my bluray streaming from my pc via file manager hd. It really shows the true speed and power of this tablet.

I'd love to like this player, but it has trouble playing back any .mkv and .avi files I've tried on it. One video played back right, Vertigo, but that movie is over 50 years old and isn't going to showcase the amazing power of this tablet lol.
Yea, i agree its not the best video player out there and i like BS player a whole lot better but the window thingy is pretty cool. Hopefully with time the player end of the app will get better.

By the way... what uses can the small screen have for ya. I would have a hard time paying attention while doing other tuff..
Lastly, anyone download sites to pick up good movies to add to the table?
Even better yet, just use whatever video player you want and then use "Stick It!" - a windowed video player! It allows you to resize and move the window and it would work with ANY other app! The guy that writes it also has 3 or 4 other windowed apps for Android - check them out on the Play store - they are really cool...

I use "Stick It" as well!!!
Why pay 1.79 for "stick it" when you can have "Super Video, Floating, and Pop-Up" update for FREE. It does the same exact thing. Plus it had an Update 7 days ago. STICK IT hasn't had one since May.

A few reasons:
1. I purchased it way before "Super Video" was available.
2. It's a *much* better app - it simply works better!
Have you actually tried Stick-it? Just because an app is updated more recently does not make it better!

Stick-it is a stand-alone app (a windowed video player). The author of it makes 3 or 4 other windows apps as well (a browser, video player, calculator and a terminal emulator).

Anyone know of an app that would allow you to do this with non-videos? For example, having a browser window open and another app windowed? That would be great for comparing data.

you can do the opposite with OverSkreen. Its a floating browser. Same goes for LilyPad, a floating IM client (only gtalk, facebook and msn at the moment).

Just a heads up, this has nothing to do with development whatsoever. Questions are supposed to go in the Q&A section.
Not sure what your problem is...
I'm able to play 1080p movies from my network server:
- either using Es File Explorer to go to the share containing that movie and opening it with MX Player Pro
- or by using MyNet and connecting to the (Free) Serviio media server that is running on my server
Using the second method I'm able to switch the display to my 55 inch Samsung tv without any problems....

Is this happening for all your 1080p mkv movies?
Is 720p mkv working correctly? Then it could be that your wifi router is not able to cope with the data that needs to be streamed.
In MX Player Pro I have enabled every Hardware Decoding option, also for network based files so my 1080p mkv is being hardware decoded, not software wise...
Also check on the Playstore for the codec pack for MX Player...

Currently on cleanrom 3.1, no data2sd. Overall tablet working well ... but when using the google music android app .... the refresh and display of local music can take over a minute if I've not used it for a while.

Yep known problem with the way Google Music works. Either you'll have to live with it, reduce the amount of music or move to another music app.

Yeah me too. At one point I had 60+ albums on there but couldn't stand the 'refresh' everytime I opened it. Now I keep maybe 8 or 10 and it is a lot better.
Maybe google will figure out how to do better media storage caching at some point. The gallery suffers from the same issue as does the google books app and magazines and so on ....
One thing though .... trying this on my samsung galaxy s 2 .... no lag with refresh at all .... with around 50 local albums. Running latest res.remix/4.2.1
Would be interesting to know how device specific this is...

Anyhow, this link is for the AWESOME app "Viper4Android". This is a fantastic sound control app. Brings extreme richness and sound boost to your device. I am running it on katkiss 4.3 #23. This is the app to have for any rooted android. Make sure you get the newest version 2.3.0.1. The play store has older version online.
Finally took a stab at ViPER4Android and I must the sound/volume is much better now.
While this thread is older, there is more information in this thread.
[Q] [Discussion] ViPER4Android for TF 101 - Who use it and can tell how?

Hi all.
My question sais it all.
I have been having the Tf101 for two years now and still am fund about it.
The only thing is....can't play my recorded vacation movies i made with my former Samsung S3 en current S4 phone.
Not fun when showing your pictures but can't play the film.
Now i was wandering...does the TF300T play my recorded vacation film?
Thx in advance

what video format does the s4 use for recorded videos? usually it's mp4 i think so the tf300 (and the tf101 too) should be able to play.
but that's just native support (hardware decoding)
just download a video player from player (mx player is my favorite), and it will play all video formats for you (software decoding)

Hi.
Yes it is indeed mp4.
But my Tf101 does not pay it properly.
The film stutters and sound stops.
Even with mx player and dice player.
I was hoping that the TF300t would play mp4.
Gives me a reason to buy it and the wife won't bother
Can anyone else confirm that TF300t can play mp4?

Boo. Well, I've played mp4 files from my Dropbox & I haven't had a problem. Hm, I'm not sure what it can be. I can't think of anything unless maybe you have apps open in the background, but I'm sure you've checked that. When you play the video files on your CPU, do they play well? I know I had a problem with my old phone where it would record mp4 files, but the video & sound were out of sync & the video skipped frames. It turned out to be a CM9 thing. So maybe it's the video file itself?

Hi.
I don't have any apps running.
I am running a team EOS Rom that's working fine.
The Rom before this also did not play mp4 also.
By the way...that was liquidsmooth.

Could it be the Rom?

I'm not sure what it can be. I just tried playing an mp4 file 2 minutes ago and it played fine on my TF300T. I'm running Paranoid Android. I had CROMi before PA, and it played fine on that ROM as well. I'm out of ideas. :banghead:

I think I found the issue.
By coincidence i opened a mp4 file that had a lower resolution then my vacation movies.
That plays very well.
But all my vacation movies are 1920x1080.
The TF101 and the TF300T both have a 1280x800 screen.
So I think they both won't play my movies
Verstuurd van mijn GT-I9505 met Tapatalk
That's a very good possibility. It might be using pushing the device more because of it. I've never tried playing a file that big. If the smaller resolution files play well, then what you mentioned is a good possibility. Try converting the files & load them to you tablet again.

i downloaded a few 1080p music videos from youtube and my TF300 plays them smoothly using the gallery app (meaning hardware decoding),
so i think it may just be because the TF101 for some reason can't handle 1080p but the TF300 can (maybe because of that tegra 2 chip instead of tegra 3 in TF300) [i think it's like the ipad 1 couldn't play 1080p either, but ipad 2 can]
i never like converting video files because it takes a lot of time and you don't get the "original" quality
so yeah i guess you should just buy a tablet that can play these files instead of converting,
but i don't recommend the tf300

i never used custom rom so i can't really tell but people reported with a custom rom it's fast,
but still you shouldn't buy it because right now it's already outdated imo,
i don't know which one to recommend but i think the NEW asus transformer pad infinity (not the old tf700 last year) is very good, and rumors say it's going to be $400, that's a good value, but you have to wait (like months), and i guess by the time it's on sale samsung and other companies probably will have a lot of tablets too.
so in short, if you really need a tablet right now, i don't know which one to recommend because most are kinda outdated.
for the best value you could get the nexus 10 though
personally i don't think i'll buy an android tablet again in the next few years because i like the ipad better (and i like android phones better than iphones)
Accidentally tapatalked from my TF300
Here it was about 1/2 the price of a Nexus 10 - nothing was in its ball park for price a couple months ago when I bought the TF300, it was more a choice between the Nexus 7 and this tablet.
Played a 1920x800 mp4 fine, even seeking was fast. Probably still not as strenuous as the file the OP was asking about though.
