Mobo player on the infinity is kicka$$ - Asus Transformer TF700

If you guys haven't checked out mobo player you should. They just added that window effect that the GS3 has. Its amazing on our tablet. Here is a screenshot of me playing final fantasy 3 while watching the first episode of The Big Bang Theory which I ripped from my bluray streaming from my pc via file manager hd. It really shows the true speed and power of this tablet.

I'd love to like this player, but it has trouble playing back any .mkv and .avi files I've tried on it. One video played back right, Vertigo, but that movie is over 50 years old and isn't going to showcase the amazing power of this tablet lol.

Yea, i agree its not the best video player out there and i like BS player a whole lot better but the window thingy is pretty cool. Hopefully with time the player end of the app will get better.

By the way... what uses can the small screen have for ya. I would have a hard time paying attention while doing other tuff..
Lastly, anyone download sites to pick up good movies to add to the table?

Even better yet, just use whatever video player you want and then use "Stick It!" - a windowed video player! It allows you to resize and move the window and it would work with ANY other app! The guy that writes it also has 3 or 4 other windowed apps for Android - check them out on the Play store - they are really cool...

I use "Stick It" as well!!!

Why pay 1.79 for "stick it" when you can have "Super Video, Floating, and Pop-Up" update for FREE. It does the same exact thing. Plus it had an Update 7 days ago. STICK IT hasn't had one since May.

A few reasons:
1. I purchased it way before "Super Video" was available.
2. It's a *much* better app - it simply works better!
Have you actually tried Stick-it? Just because an app is updated more recently does not make it better!

Stick-it is a stand-alone app (a windowed video player). The author of it makes 3 or 4 other windows apps as well (a browser, video player, calculator and a terminal emulator).

Anyone know of an app that would allow you to do this with non-videos? For example, having a browser window open and another app windowed? That would be great for comparing data.

you can do the opposite with OverSkreen. Its a floating browser. Same goes for LilyPad, a floating IM client (only gtalk, facebook and msn at the moment).

Nothing that general, but there are a growing list of floating apps available on the market such as:

[Q] Question about remote desktop

Just got my tablet, and must say I totally dig it. I do have a few questions maybe you guys could help me out with.
I have a desktop next to my entertainment stand in my living room. It's hooked into my surround sound and big screen. When I have a bunch of people over, I like to have Google Music running and play it through the surround sound. So, I wanted to be able to control my desktop through my tablet. We sometimes go outside to smoke or grill, etc, and I'd like to take my tablet outside to control my desktop. Now, I have gmote installed already, and it's great. You can use your tablet as a touchpad, or a keyboard, and can browse through your music/movies with ease. BUT....I want to be able to see my desktop screen through my tablet since I use google music more. Can anyone suggest any free programs that I can use? I've read about VMware, and this might achieve this, but not sure. Haven't been at home recently to test this out. All I want is to be able to see my desktop screen through my tablet and be able to change google music songs.
Thanks for any input!
Hi,
I'm using TeamViewer, available for free on the market.
It works fine.
why don't you use splashtop included in your transformer ? work very well..
I have to agree with the above poster, I use SplashTop HD on my tablet for all remote desktop-ing needs and it works beautifully. Instant streaming speeds from your desktop to your tablet (obviously reliant upon the strength of your wifi connection). You'll be able to stream both video and audio to the tablet with it without lag, enabling you to even watch movies via remote desktop on your tablet. If it's not on your Transformer already, you should definitely look into it
TeamViewer can remote your Desktop from WAN...
It's the reason why I choose it...

SplashTop HD can connect from WAN as well, I use it to view my PC at home while I'm at work.
Good to know.
In fact, I've don't tried SplashTop HD...
Why do it simply ...
Not trying to hijack and staying on topic with these apps, can you use the above mentioned to move files around? The wife wants to be able to organise our photo albums from the transformer.
Thanks.

I appreciate all the replies guys. I don't have splashtop on my pad, but I see it on the market, and it's 9.99. Should it have come stock on the pad? I am running the stock rom, since I can't root yet.
another question. Seems most of the programs you suggest will stream from my desktop to my transformer. I still want it to play from the desktop through my surround sound as well. Will it do this? I'm at work, so I can't test anything until I get home. ...not like I'm doing any work here anyway. lol.
Just installed teamviewer on my work computer, and must say wow. It's working flawlessly. This is exactly what I'm looking for, and free! Thanks!

SplashTop HD should allow the sound to play through both sources, the tablet and your surround sound (as long as it's turned on, of course). It will not hijack the audio.

The Asus comes with a preinstalled SplashTop standard version. You can buy the HD version on the market. It's even better. The standard version can be choppy sometimes with less quality. It enables me to watch Live-TV on my tablet from my mediacenter pc running MediaPortal. if you use the same MC, you can try aMPdroid: it remote controls and streams MediaPortal functionality but it's not an RDP app.

[Q]flash games

There should be some settings on the TV - I am not sure about the TV you are using, but on my older 720p Panny Plasma, there is a 1080p option to chose, and then the TV will downscale it to its native format (720p). My guess is the TV is set at 720p or something else, and actually should be set higher if possible, and then it will downscale accordingly.
i have t 1080p tv and when i connect my ASUS Transformer Pad infinity TF700T to the tv at first it shows a 16:10 mirror of what I have on the tablet then when i go to the settings all the way down to the HDMI settings, it changes the output to a full screen 16:9 without the status bar on the tv and on the tablet the wallpaper moves up.
if i run a game or browsing the web its full screen on the tv without the status bar 1080p with 60 FPS.
by the way the 3d works great on the tv and i will make a video showing how good it works

I also installed it but it wasn't working properly...screen was flickering and my mp3 files refused to play....uninstalled until a better version is released.
I tested the 07-26-12 and the 07-30-12 with my HOX and TF700, HOX wouldn't work any more (did work with the 07-20-12 release) but TF700 works fine (as in: it plays video's choppy.. no hardware support, but music is fine)

I've had pretty good luck with it, but have only tried a few videos. I'm not a huge fan of the touchscreen skin they include, but its a start. I think the default skin almost works better. I hope they get the keyboard shortcuts working, as that would be nice with the dock (i've long had them memorized).
It will be nice if more people come out with android/touchscreen specific skins.

Yeah me too. At one point I had 60+ albums on there but couldn't stand the 'refresh' everytime I opened it. Now I keep maybe 8 or 10 and it is a lot better.
Maybe google will figure out how to do better media storage caching at some point. The gallery suffers from the same issue as does the google books app and magazines and so on ....
One thing though .... trying this on my samsung galaxy s 2 .... no lag with refresh at all .... with around 50 local albums. Running latest res.remix/4.2.1
Would be interesting to know how device specific this is...
