Update 11/24 - v1.1: Support for Android 4.0-4.1
After some requests I added a launcher icon which will launch the clock activity and start the screensaver after 30s of user inactivity and keep the screen on as long as the device is charging
I just created an improved version of the stock Clock DayDream for Android 4.2+.
Besides the default clock it shows current date and the next alarm and there is even an option to show unread messages, texts and missed calls notification.
You can find it on the Play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cz.mpelant.deskclock

Thanks for your contribution .
Are there any chances to make it compatible with ICS?
Awesome work. Using it now.
How about making a pro version with custom RSS fred..could look pretty cool as "4x1" underneath clock with transparent background.

I can make an Activity that will keep the screen on while the charger is plugged, but you will have to start the activity by yourself. DayDream (Screensaver) service is only available on Android 4.2+

Go ahead and grab the update from the Play store.
I just realized that the original daydream doesn't show date or alarm time.
This one is great! Thanks.
Gmail notifications don't show up on my Galaxy Nexus. Bug?
Also: If phone is docked, and I unlock and check the mail. How do I relaunch the app?

The real widget is from the Moto Atrix HD. It's here on XDA somewhere.."Atrix HD Widgets".. Main caveat of running it is you have to run the launcher that comes with it. I haven't tried it on the S3 yet to see if it will work, as a stock launcher in any form is a no-go for me.
No, One More Clock widget is the "real" widget and has been out for quite some time; been using it for over a year. Motorola "adopted" this widget and implemented a few changes and enhancements. You don't need to be on a specific launcher and it even works with Android versions down to 1.6.

You have your thread list. Tap on a thread and it opens the thread. Slide right for a new text and left for the thread list. In the time it would take you to watch a video demonstration you could just install it and play with it for ten seconds then keep or uninstall it.
That said it works nice, but is a little janky and stuttery on my N4. Nice concept though and looks good.

Hey guys,
For any of you out there who have yet to get the update to KitKat, one of the cooler things in my opinion was the clock app. Spent some time backporting it to run on Android 4.0+ this morning for another project I'm working on, but I figure everyone out there can use a little bit of KitKatty goodness in their lives!

If you've got any questions, let me know. I honestly haven't tested it more than letting one alarm go off after I set it for 5 minutes later, but I don't see there being any giant problems preventing you from getting up in the morning
Just know, I did have to take out the widget, just simply because I didn't have time to mess with it and it used a ton of newer API stuff.

I'm not sure quite what you mean... I renamed the package so that it doesn't override the stock app, but if you want you could just install it to the system folder and delete the old one I guess. Don't see any problems with doing that.
Everything is working properly on Xperia Z with stock 4.2.2, but there is still the H symbol bug when the alarm time is shown on the lockscreen or homescreen widgets:

Anyways does the launcher have an option for sorting the App Drawer other than alphabetical order?
Tested on Note3 back to Nova.... still the best
Google Now Launcher will be nice if the App Drawer can set Folder or hide unwanted apps, or sort our own so It won't just messy around.

Ya, agree!
I've been a Apex Pro user since ICS back at Galaxy S2, and it is the tiny details that made me go for it, however with stuff like xposed, the launcher is going to get a lot of mods.
The current grid size is stupid and made more for sub-five-inch phones, worthless if we cant choose the layout sizes.
Great!
Mix it with this one, and you'll be able to adapt it to the Note 3 screen size

Hello world,
As many of us have already seen this on Android Police, here's the new Google Keyboard version 4.0 from the Android 5.0 Lollipop Preview which was released yesterday!
As per the source, it doesn't work just by side-loading the app, a library(from /system/lib/) called libjni_latinimegoogle.so from the Android 5.0 Lollipop Preview is also needed to run this.
Note - There are some issues regarding side-loading the app ('App not installed').
This is somewhat different than the previous port as this is v4.0.21003.1519572
Changes from the previous version-
Added 'Material Light' theme (keeping Material Dark, Holo White and Holo Blue for option).
Overhauled the 'Settings' screen.
More keyboard layouts added including QWERTY, QWERTZ, AZERTY, Dvorak, Colemak, and PC.
Support for new languages.
New animations.

I've just made it flashable zip that will install it as a system app so that it cuts out the time required for manual installation after ROM flashing and also reduces the issues regarding side-loading.

Yes same thing works for keep and stock messaging app but crashes hangouts and XDA app. Not a deal breaker for me living here on the edge waiting for apps to catch up with updates is rather common.
On 4.03ics it's working in portrait, not at all in landscape. I like that it has more characters than my stock keyboard, such as the pipe. Darker theme is nice.
