[Q] Leak #1 rom possible, or back to leak from ota? - Motorola Atrix 2

I'm on ota 4.0.4 and want to go back to leak #1. Somehow I lost lap dock audio along my way. I had tried a couple roms coming from leak #1, had a bad Numa flash and fxzed to 4.0.4. I'm giving the phone to my mother and want the most bug free experience possible, but can't get lap dock audio and I know it worked for me on the leak. it's so weird because HDMI audio works on the TV, plug it into the Lapdock I get nothing, hit the reset button on the lapDock and when the Lapdock turns back on the audio works for a moment then the laptop restarts again with no audio. And it's not the Lapdock because it happens on both my Lapdock 100 and both my buddies Lapdock 100 and 500....
I would like to just to go back to leak number 1 it worked great and had options the ota doesn't.

A simple search will answer your question as this has been asked and answered too many times to count now. And no I will not do the search for you and post a link, as you should be smart enough to do that for yourself.
P.S. No posts complaining about the search function and how bad it is, from anyone... I did the search myself and got back a few great threads in both Q&A and The General section, oh and it took me less than 1 min to get the answer, even though I already know/knew it. so...

I challenge anyone to find a solution to the audio problem, I have searched and asked and found nothing, not one single reply.
I have fxz'd to stock 4.0.4 multiple times with good md5 and it's not hardware because hdmi audio works on tv and lapdock works with other phones,

That was not your question in the OP!
You question was can you go back to leak #1 from the OTA. Your issues with the lapdock have to do with webtop 3.0. others have reported the same issue as you have and there will not be a fix for it, unless somehow Motorola puts out a patch fix ICS ROM, but I doubt that since our phone was abandoned my Motorola with less than a year into it.
And to answer your original question, no you can not go back to leak one from the OTA, easily... there is a way, but it is very, very dangerous and not recommended for the faint of heart.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1935485
I do not recommend either of those ways, but others have done it and gotten back on Leak #1 with that process from the OTA. but do it incorrectly, and you will hardbrick.

tyvvm, I should have asked the right question.
The phone has left the building so to speak, but do you believe going back would have helped? When I mentioned the audio problem before I only had one response from someone saying it worked fine on theirs so I thought it was unique to me. I know it worked before...
I liked the phone, didn't really want to sell it but did as a favor to my friend for his mother...
If I'm not going to be able to have a working lapdock with audio on a JB based ROM I think I may be looking for an alternative phone, any recommendations? I was thinking atrix hd, but if lapdock and JB won't mix on any device I might go One X or Q.

Thanks Jim i was looking for that. Wish me luck getting back to leak #1 from the OTA . I miss your webtop hack tooo much to not risk it. If all else fails there's always the microwave .

While you can go back to leak #1 that way, it will still be on the bootloader from leak #2. So you won't be able to go back to GB, even after you've gotten back to leak #1

There is a webtop hack available for leak#1 that isn't available on ota or other roms? What does it do?

Pretty sure Cryhavok13 was referring to this (its for GB, hence the warning above):

[Q] What is a stock ROM?

I recently got a XOOM (U.S. WIFI-only) in July. It came shipped with 3.0.1
Within a day, it got updated to 3.1
and within about a week it went to 3.2
I wish to root my XOOM and eventually put on TIAMAT 2.1
When I go to the XDA forum it seems I need to get to "stock" 3.1 first.
I am guessing that this means I need to do a factory reset on my XOOM
to get back to 3.0.1 then do the update to 3.1
Once I am able to do this I should be able to follow their instructions
and root my device. Is this correct?
On a related matter, if someone were to purchase a XOOM now and it came
with 3.2, would they be unable to root the device?
Thanks.

Hey there! No need to go to downgrade or anything any longer if you would like to root. Team Tiamat themselves have released a universal rooting tool that will root any Xoom regardless of the country it came from, model, or Honeycomb version. It can be found here.
Also: You might want to check out my Xoom Heaven thread after you are rooted. It would be perfect for a new Xoom rooter. You can find the link in my sig below, or by going here.
Good luck!
Can you get Tiamat 2.1 when you have stock 3.2? Or does the stock ROM not matter at all since it's getting replaced?

You cannot do that until you gain root access first. That's how you get there in the first place: a stock rooted Rom.
So, no.. the stock Rom does not matter. As long as you have root access on it, all is well.
diablo2224,
You are a life saver! Prior to my post I spent a couple of hours going through all
the posts of rooting the xoom in this article:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1170760
It was here I felt the need to understand what "stock" meant -- however, when I
registered I was told that I cannot post to that thread
So I posted here.
I checked out your Xoom Heaven and was blown away! Great Job!
After I submitted my post, I thought to myself that after I rooted my Xoom I would
put together something like what you have done -- looks like you beat me
to it. Bravo!
It looks like you put a lot of work into it ... so I feel extra lucky that somehow you
found the time to even read my question.
Thanks again.

Hey, no problem! It's what I do around here. Glad you got it all sorted out, and yes... Xoom Heaven is a lot of work indeed. I'm nowhere near finished, but as it stands I have made great progress.
Of course I read your question. When I'm not working on something I'm looking around for people to help out. Cheers!
Also: Since I am in charge of Xoom Heaven... feel free to ask me any root questions, or anything else Xoom related on my thread there. I'll be happy to do my best to assist you.

[Q] No CRT lock animation on Infuse Gingerbread (UCKJ4 Stock)

Not a newb question. It can be done but its not a newb project really. I think nobody has played with it on this particular Ron because the release schedule for the leaks is going so fast that nobody had the time to keep up. I'll wait till the official version drops before I teach myself to enable it.
Thanks for the replies, guys. As for waiting on the Official release, I've been waiting since Keith first announced it in August. I can live without HDMI, and the gingerbread release is much smoother than the original Froyo.

[Q] Should I wait to install new ICS firmware for CM9

So just as I was about to go through all the steps to install ICS firmware for the CM9 nightly (using the steps in the guide for ICS and ARHD), then I see that TMOUS is going to be to be pushing the official firmware OTA.
Does that have any implications such as there may be some differences so I should wait until that version is deciphered for flashing? Or something else I should take into account but don't see cause I'm newbish?
Right now im on 2.3.7 from CM7
I am under the impression its ok to ask newb question in this particular forum....if not sorry!
EDIT im seeing this posted up today [ROM] HTC TMOUS Stock ICS *RELEASE* 3.32.531.14 (Flashable | Untouched | Rooted)...should i follow the same instructions on ICS ARHD just using the above file or can i just install 4ext and then flash? lol maybe i should just wait till the dust settles on the events of today
Same question, I'm afraid of losing root and s-off as well, someone help us plz
Cm9 is AOSP based and might have some bugs. Official will have Sense. It's down to personal preference really. I personally use AOKP and love it
I know the difference one is sense and the other is aosp based. i guess my question is that since I have to upgrade my to ICS firmware to flash CM9 should I be using the guide and links to do so on the ARHD ICS post or follow a different method, or wait a couple of days since the firmware is gonna be updated.
now that i think about it i bet someone will write a guide specifically for CM9 so i should just be quiet and patient.
Update: As much as i want to flash cm9 asap i think I am going to take it slow and start with upgrading from cwm to 4ext before i get ahead of myself. upon review i see my post belongs in the help section of the QA and not as its own post so sorry for the clutter.
last question...i loved DOS why is adb so scary to me jk

Welcome to the Atrix 2 forums! Be careful of some of these questions as they are all rather opinionated in response. This kind of thing can get a thread shut down quick. Read the stickies, especially the noob thread and find out for yourself.
Also, please refrain from cross-posting within forums and sub-forums. I saw you posted similarly in the Q&A Section. This sort of thing is unnecessary, and clutters up the forums...

[Q] Boot Menu Manager on Stock JB 4.1.2 leak 1

Specifically to Stock Jelly Bean 4.1.2 leak 1, creating a thread to have clear perspective without muddling up things for installing, usage & any other miscellaneous aspects to include.
1) As per Playstore BMM shows ver 0.3.4 dtd. 11th Feb
2) Archive XDA based download ver for JB which OP himself has said is closed exists here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2005187
in this thread last post dtd. 15th Feb he has specified that BMM is now not only for Razr & that in next update he is also adding support specifically for Atrix 2. Can anyone point me towards the Atrix 2 BMM thread specifically & is it a good idea to use XDA based archive or the playstore version?
3) In this link there is a detailed explanation for installing ICS based ROM's using BMM, can this be used as an guide for JB as well especially for BMM noobs like me??
I am currently on JB 4.1.2 leak 1 with init.d support using Ryu's init.d apk, no OC & currently using Atrix 2 Bootstrap by Nitro. I do understand beforehand that I need to remove SU permission for the current custom CWMR & then uninstall & reboot & then install BMM. Are there any other additional precautions that I need to take before installing & using BMM (I do have a current working nandroid backup using CWMR using A2 bootstrap tool) tutorial link is this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792955
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1720351
The third post is a FAQ section. It may not answer all of your questions, but it should still be helpful.
Brought to you by time and relative dimensions in space.
Thanks for responding Badwolf & I also had subscribed to that thread as well besides the JB link & how to use BMM link for installing ROM's which I posted below and since it was another ICS based thing I did not post it here & I just skimmed the surface of all these three threads.
So as Whirleyes himself stated he is releasing another update with support for Atrix 2 specifically (this was over a month ago) & this is what I was scouring all over for.
Ideally I want to be in the following situation :
1) Run stock JB 4.1.2 leak 1 as primary system
2) For 4 other optional roms run as :
a) ICS stock (now that we have been converted from the MB865 to ME865 HK due to JB while flashing stock ICS using Psyducks thread do we need to then flash a HK firmware based ICS rather than our earlier Searet ICS version?)
b) CM 10.x
c) Any of MIUI,Numa,PA etc
d) Any of the Chinese JB specific 4 ROM's
I wish someone can quickly guide me how to achieve above scenario using current BMM either archive or playstore version & all other prerequisites and precautions I need to take. I hate to RSD fxz then restore nandroid as I don't have a fallback phone.
BMM is pretty intimidating for this app specific noobs & I could dive headlong in but prefer to do a informed & safe plunge & hence the JB 4.1.2 leak 1 specific question in co-relation to Atrix 2 specific supported BMM.
If you make a nandroid of your JB leak, then flash an ICS based ROM, install the new BMM, flash you preferred ROM(s) on different partition(s), then you could just restore the nandroid of your JB leak to the first system, that should work, no? There's only one way to find out is what I always say.lol .....Seriously, as long as you have the proper FXZ and a nandroid you should be pretty safe. Flashing an FXZ isn't that bad, I did it 3 times yesterday while testing some stuff I've been playing around with. I admit I have 3 backup phones (my Atrix 2 being one of them) and it does alleviate some of the fear of bricking, but as a result I have found that following directions and having the proper FXZ has the same alleviating effect. That being said, have you posted your question in the thread you mentioned where Whirleys said he was going to start supporting the A2? That would seem like the proper place to ask, as he would probably be best suited to answer you queries.
Brought to you by time and relative dimensions in space.
I wanted to start on a clean slate & when I read that Whirleyes has himself stated that in the next update he is specifically supporting Atrix 2 I said what better than that & he had himself specified that people stop posting to that thread any further & I really opine that now that we are on JB 4.1.2 since Feb onwards it's better to take things forward that point forwards & that is what I meant by keeping things in perspective & not muddling up with things related to ICS, other region firmwares etc etc. I also felt it'd help a lot of users since anything related to BMM for Atrix 2 on stock JB 4.1.2 can be summarized here in this thread rather than have it strewn all over the boards. I did brief Whirleyes to give a look in to this thread and chip in if he has anything to say now that he has indicated support specifically for Atrix 2.
I also created stock JB 4.1.2 - CWMR on every boot as well as buildprop threads with the same intent. Hope it picks up and helps lesser mortals like us
