Bad question. There is no such thing as BEST. All ROM choices are dependant on many factors but especially your own preferences.What I think is best is not what the next person thinks is best. It's all opinion and we have a ton of opinions already. Another thread is not needed.

Download and try them out. That is the only way to find the 'best' because each user has different experiences. Rule of thumb, the less the phone does, the better the battery will be.
Ok, let me re-phrase then. Can anyone point me to some Non-sense Gingerbread ROMS.
I have found ICS and MIUI Non-sense, but not many others. The ones I have found have too many visual mods etc. Looking for a stock (ish) gingerbread.

Thanks but that looks pretty heavily themed (visually). Looking for more of a stock look, fonts, etc.

Thanks, I have done a lot of leg work and have not found much that is why I am asking. Maybe there is something I missed along the way that someone can point me to.

You will not find many GB roms as most have moved over to ICS. There is CM and a few others.
As stated above there is no best as each rom will run differently on every device.

These two ROMs, Superlite and Sky ICS seem to be the best alternatives for moving my Skyrocket to ICS. I'm not going to ask which to install, I know what you will tell me..…try them both.
I'm hoping I can get some opinion as to which is more stable, more likely to install well over my configuration without problems, which is being developed more regularly, which has more known bugs, stuff like that, battery life.
I have a 727R, that's the Rogers Skyrocket, with the latest CWM, the faux kernel, 2.6.35.14, v10m. The radio is i727UCLA3, and the ROM is UCLA3_2.3.6_rom.
I want to install with a ZIP file, without the leaked ICS via ODIN. Not sure if this matters.
So grateful to any advice.

They are both being developed regularly. Read through the threads and you will see development, bugs, and progression.
there are 100's of pages of threads from different periods in their respective developments. It's hard to keep straight what's old and what's current.
I'm looking for help, the same as I would give you if you asked. so please xcrazydx, if you have nothing of value to offer it's better you just don't waste your valuable time replying.
Its easy to try them out yourself. Everyone is different. Flash one, run it for a few days then flash the other.
PS. Don't be a jerk, and just go read for yourself. We don't owe you anything. Quit being lazy!!

Not as simple as you think. Over the last 2 weeks since the leak, there has been talk of Rogers not working, or having to install the leak first with Odin and then install a ZIP rom. Also worried about the radio with Rogers, I've heard problems with that.
So I'm nervous, and I'm looking for some help. No, you don't owe me anything. I try to help people here who I don't owe anything. It's just the decent thing to do. It's why we have discussion forums with places for questions. And how is it lazy by asking people to share experiences? Jeez, this place is turning ugly. Try to remember when you were new here.
The whole thing about it is, if you don't do the reading, you will most likely end up writing repeat questions because you didn't feel like doing the reading to fix any little issues you may have with a ROM. Reading first is like getting free experience.

You asked about 2 specific roms. If you don't have the time to read through some posts you shouldn't be here and you shouldn't be flashing anything at all. I help people all the time, but this is something you must do on your own. No reading = you asking stupid questions that have already been answered multiple times.
I gave you a courteous answer and explained they are both worked on regularly by the devs.
Which is not what I asked. Why don't you go away. I can say for certain you've turned me off this forum.
Jeff, I have read both threads completely. I don't understand why I can't ask a simple question here about experience with Rogers phones on these two ROMs coming from Gingerbread just to get confirmation that there are no major issues which were first reported when the leak came out.
And I don't understand why people who don't want to answer, feel they have to come her and criticize.
Didn't even ask about smooth ice by rem... Which i think is super awesome too... The long and short is this, all the roms are built from same base so not really any huge differences

I can give you my opinion if that would help. I had less problems with sky ics. None are perfect. But both are better than stock.

Hahaha, I tried to help. Without reading the threads of the roms in question one cannot make an educated decision on which one is best for your needs. I even answered one of his questions. I don't get what his problem with me is.
If u want an opinion. Sky ICS. Then remove more Bloat if you want and make it more "super lite" my "opinion" is Sean updates more often and listens what people want. But it is so easy to just flash both and give both roms a try and see what "you" think is better.

Both roms are based off the same ics leak so in that regard they are equally stable. Just install the from that has more of the features u want, because from a majority perspective both have been well received
I can't comment on Sky ICS but I've been using Superlite 5.0 for a while now and I'm very satisfied with it. It's very stable and relatively bugless for me. But to repeat what others have said, it's really down to personal preference. Both roms come from the same source, therefore stability wise there isn't going to be a major difference. If it helps, I used both sean and mhx's GB roms, and I preferred the latter, which was a big part of why I went with ICS Superlite in the first place.
Now that there's tools for the average 13year old to kang up a rom or just re-release a Sense 4 Rom, the development section is getting flooded with identical Roms, I think each Rom thread should have a poll, and if it has had say 100 views after 2 weeks at least 5% of the viewers have to run it, not download, install, remove because its the same as their last rom so they just restore nandroid for all setting and apps back, but run it as daily.
There's 15+ Sense 4 Roms, at least 10 are identical with different wallpapers and maybe hard set leedroid tweaks installed.
They all mention about being deodexed and zip alligned but let's face it, the so called developers have not developed these roms at all and they need to stop.

Nope. Its because of people like you that dev's leave or stop developing for devices.
You'd rather be picky and pick which developers can stay and which have to leave because of "unsatisfactory" work.
Im sorry, but it doesn't work that way. You really don't have a say in that.
Everyone has to start somewhere and everyone has the right to create a modified or custom rom. Leave them alone.

There are multiple sides to this "issue". Some might argue that XDA is site for original development, others might say that there a place in this world for every single ROM, no matter how it was created.
In the end XDA is a public forum where we will always have different opinions.
That said, please stay civil here, or the thread will be closed.
I might say, the sensation development section has many ROMs with similar base, but to say ROMs are identical, then no.
And to make a note that every single device is different than the other, one ROM that works perfect for me, might not work perfectly for you, and here comes the benefit of this diversity in ROMs.

But really, is there that much scope for development? How much can change today?
How ready are you to try something that you know isn't stable?
The fact is if someone were to start off with something new, they surely wouldn't get it right the first time around. Will people be willing to risk their phones to try something new?
These questions need to be answered & any good dev would of course think of these things.
Also, you base so much on visual appearances, what have you used of the ROM that you base these claims that the ROMs are the same on? Have you seen how they work on your device?
When you are talking of the Sense 4.0 ROMs I really wonder how much of a visual difference you expect to see in Sense? Why not download a new skin? It will feel like a new ROM experience if appearance is all that counts.

I don't see the point in your suggestion. The forum does that by itself, the popular roms stay on the first page while those with less users end up in the pages afterwards.
As long as devs aren't kanging each other without permission I don't see a problem with new roms. Your original argument that the sense 4 roms are all the same is understandable in a way. The devs working on sense 4 are doing an amazing job and they have gotten rid of the majority of bugs. Without thr amount of devs that are working on it, there is no way sense 4 would be where its at on our phones. You seem to be basing this "lack" of variety of roms on the ui. This argument is almost completely irrelevant at this point since the fusion.apk in sense 4 is locked down, and this is the base for the majority of ui changes on sense itself. There's probably 8 sense 4 roms and the majority are made by exceptional devs who are working together on getting sense 4 to the best state possible.

I'm using sense 4 as an example as many have been released in past 2-3 weeks.
I would just like to see more original roms on here
We have GB, ICS, Sense 3.0, Sense 3.5, Sense 3.6, Sense 4.0, MIUI, AOSP, CM... Right now the devs are working with what bases they have available to them. When JB and KLP get dropped then I'm sure those will make their way here as well, but by then you'll probably have moved on to a newer device anyways.
As was already mentioned, the popular roms stay at the top so the sorting is done automatically. If people don't like a rom it will fall back in the page count and be long forgotten!
If you want, I can make a port of cupcake for you. How different would that be!?

If you can get it working on newest firmware then yes
Random things like this is what I'd like to see, even a android Linux combo, being able to install android and Linux apps to one Rom would be amazing,
I liked the times when we had things like the HQ Camera mod come out, if smalled devs could work together on projects like that then the Dev section would be filled with newer stuff

Bit again, someone will disagree and tattle tail on me to a moderator or say I need to be kicked off because they disagree with my opinion. No one ever said anyone else had to agree with anyone's opinion. If you don't agree then state your opinion and step aside. Nobody needs you spamming threads with **** like "you need to be kicked off" cause someone has an opinion. Our community is awesome only because of devs, who work really hard for us.. if they leave, our sensation forum will die down. Such threads would push devs away & that's the only reason I reported this. Also, I didn't scream ban! I just wanted the mod to take a look. I am sorry if this was wrong but I only had the best interest of the community in mind..

I gotta agree. Aside from CM9/MIUI/AOKP/Paranoid Android, most Sense 3.6/Sense 4.0 ROMs are the same.
I want to know which is the best and stable ROM for htc sensation. please share your views and also provide the link of that ROM.

Yes and no. If you're a noob, as we all have been at one point. The first thing that you have to do after joining is watch a little video we are all familiar with. "Use the search button", do your homework, investigate extensively, exhaust every possibility, try a few Rom and kernel combos, before you start asking the same dumb question that has been answered countless times before, in countless different parts of the forums.
Just wished people knew how to search a forum or to Google some more, that is it.

There isn't a fully functioning Jelly Bean ROM yet, but the CM10 ROMs have all the essential stuff working (phone, data, wi-fi, GPS, etc). So try out any one of the CM10 based ROMs. I'm currently on R-M-S CM10, it's feels really stable and optimized.

My sincere apologies for the earlier posts. Most RCs do not attend the RC forum and few that do actually participated in that thread which will certainly be removed now. I assure you that mods take these actions seriously and our punishments have been and are more severe due to a higher standard.

Yeah some of us snaps because it kinda gets annoying after 50 threads of "omg wut is da best rom i cn flash!?" Search tool is always welcomed to be used ..

Some power tripping mod has deleted my comment on this thread... I asked which rom had better video playback (aokp or cm10), as I know from change logs both have issues but I wanted to know if maybe one worked better than the other.
The video playback is an objective feature of the rom so why is it unreasonable to ask someone who has already experienced both roms which is better? Rather than me having to dl both roms wasting internet data allowance then waste more time flashing both...
Sorry for the rant but it does piss me off when this type of thing happens, especially when it happens to me.

Jelly Bean roms are quite stable. I tested Pyromod's version and I did like it much, today I will test the CM10 build with the dragon kernel.
BTW, am I the only person who experiences strange stutter or maybe I should say, bad touchscreen reponsiveness on JB roms? Animations are fine in general no lag at all, but the phone doesnt register touches properly, and I need to focus a lot more the get around in menus compared to VenomS. I always clean install, so format and wipe everything.

Animations are fine in general no lag at all, but the phone doesnt register touches properly, and I need to focus a lot more the get around in menus compared to VenomS. I always clean install, so format and wipe everything.

I have flashed both the Bruce2728 CM10 Rom and the frankinstine AOKP rom and would have to say the the AOKP is the better of the two. The CM10 ROM has too many issues with wakelock and terrible battery life. The AOKP rom has corrected the Data issues and I am currently getting amazing battery life, going twice as long as I was on the CM10.

The video playback is an objective feature of the rom so why is it unreasonable to ask someone who has already experienced both roms which is better? Rather than me having to dl both roms wasting internet data allowance then waste more time flashing both...

Haha I hope the OP isn't using the app, as the search function is shot atm.
Anyway, people have to start somewhere, they might be new to all this. New to forums in general. You can't expect them to know the rules and etiquette of a particular forum right from the word go.
Why not use all that worldly knowledge to direct them to the right delivery of their queries. Instead of being downright rude, and discouraging them from continuing with a thread, and possibly going out and starting another clean one?
Don't get me wrong, it clutters up the boards alright, but I'm not going to flame someone for that reason. Like I said, keep it friendly, and use that same energy you use to rudely come down on them, to direct them on the right path. Essentially, or more so, probably, stopping them from starting another thread!
@OP. Like some have already stated, it really is subjective mate, and comes down to personal choice. Only you will know what's best for you. Once you've mastered the art of ROM Fu, it's great fun flashing new ROMS, making Nandroids, jumping between them, testing them out, modifying them to your liking, and finding what sits right with you.

I've used kingsbeat jb Rom, It always got stuck on the lockscreen. The touchscreen would work but it wouldn't unlock.. I'm using viper right now but really like the speed and other features of aosp.. any suggestions?
