Trade off between sleek design and extended battery - AT&T, Rogers HTC One X, Telstra One XL

I've been looking at some extended battery's for the AT&T One X. And they're absolutely hideous. I found this to be the best http://www.prweb.com/releases/ATT/HtcOneX/prweb9778396.htm but it completely changes the design and feel of the phone and it costs $100.
I don't expect to have this phone for more than 2 years so it might not be worth to spend that much on a battery. I'm looking at something under $30.
Have you guys found something better? Something that doesn't change the look/feel of the phone by much? Maybe a battery case that can be removed when the extra battery isn't needed.
I don't even use a case on my phone because i like the way it looks and feels. But sometimes i need the phone to last 5-6 hours of heavy usage and that's impossible with the stock battery.

Buy it, and just use it sometimes

I would love to but it's $100 and not $20.

Did u root and unlock ur BL?
Flashing Custom rom will enables you to achieve 5-6 hrs heavy usage and there is still 20% left.
Check my battery stats, that was mid heavy usage, could last for more than 15 hrs

No, you cannot get 5–6 hrs of heavy use on it. Max is 4. I'm talking about chrome browsing.

Buy a USB phone charger battery thing that you can keep in your bag. They're cheap and only there when you need it.

+1 on that. I have one of the rechargeable battery packs that I carry with me that is compatible with my phone and other mobile devices. Just plug it in for a half hour or so and you have enough charge on your phone to keep going. Not as intrusive as you might think and it's only temporary and usually out of sight (say when you're walking somewhere you don't need your phone).
Personally, I would NEVER get one of those battery pack cases. Like you said, it destroys the look of the phone.

There are always deals on New Trent packs, just check slickdeals. Here's one for $30 http://www.amazon.com/New-Trent-IMP...T9PSE4EH0&qid=1353372338&s=electronics&sr=1-1

+1 on NewTrent. Their stuff is rock-solid, well-designed, and looks great. I have one of these and love it:
http://www.newtrent.com/store/iphone-external-battery/igeek.html
Ignore the iStuff marketing--it works with any USB charging. This one has two ports, so it will charge two phones at once (useful for me, since my wife and son are always letting their phones run down) as well as my HOX and Nexus 7.

[Q] Has anybody tried this 3000 mAh battery?

Recently I was looking for a cover for my g2 phone when I saw this sale http://cgi.ebay.com/3000mAh-Extended-Battery-Back-cover-HTC-Desire-Z-G2-/140496797740?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item20b643002c#ht_1322wt_1139
It's a 3000 mAh battery with the back cover. Does anyone tried it or anyone similar in the past? Should I take the risk and pay $12.50 for it?
I would appreciate some opinions Thanks

Wow that's a fat battery :O

Pregnant phone anyone?
I bought 3 1500mAh batteries from HK. Same white lable, maybe same company. They work great, but it is annoying to change batteries.
My G1 was a pregant phone and I did love the extra bulk, but I'm not sure if I want the extra bulk on my G2, I've have to think this one over.
Maybe I'll just have to wait for the reviews.
Just order the 3500mAh. Will report when I get it and test

I take it you use ghost armor or use it naked? Yeah, it does bulge but I use a case so I don't see it. I never actually needed longer battery life anyways, though. I grabbed it cuz it was $25 and now I have a spare. With oem battery mine lasts well over 24 hours with 5 hours of screen on time, auto brightness, emails, weather and everything else syncing. I would never run a cheapo battery though.
greekunit690 does the one you ordered require a different battery cover? Or is it just the same size? Samsung really should make an extended battery. Actually all cell phone companies need to make the batteries bigger like the driod razr maxx

I've been using this battery since Feb 17th. The stock battery would only get me through the work day and even then sometimes barely. Now I easily can go through the evening with about 30% left before I plug it in for the night. Once I forgot and it was at 1% the next morning which the stock never would've lasted that long.
I wasn't aware we could use the Nexus extended battery. Since I use a case I may switch to that. If I can find one at a good price on Prime.
How the heck do you get 5 hours of screen time and have it last 24 hours? Even with the nexus battery juice defender running I can get maybe 3-4 hours.

I'm surprised there are not more posts on this. So how is it fellas?
had the phone since ten AM Thursday and it still has odd battery life. about 4-6, maybe 8. But this could just be me and it needing cycling. it does do some odd stuff, similar to what my GS2 did. Battery meter shows 95%, reboot and it will be 83% or maybe 99%, its a crap shoot.
After 3 full days:
16 hrs w/ 2hrs to go with light usage.
Monday when I am back at work will be the real test.
So far, the best battery life than any of my phones in the past 6months.

You have to replace the battery about once every 2 years. That shouldn't be a burden. You should be rebooting the phone more often than that.

few questions anker extended battery !!

Hi
This is my first thread on this site. Please help.me understand a few things regarding anker extended batteries, before I decide to buy them.
1. Are these batteries safe to use ?
2. Do they perform well even if using for a year or so ? I have seen all short term reviews only.
3. Can u charge them inside the phone itself using stock wall charger as with normal batteries ? As you know HTC sensation back cover is all delicate. So removing it often isn't a good idea.
I have stock ROM and stock battery at the moment and not to mention I am sick of the original battery. Please help me understand the questions above so i can get myself a pair of those 1900mah performers.
Yes they are safe to use and yes you can charge them in your phone with your stock phone charger.I have had my banker battery for 13 months now with now problems.

Thanks for that info I do have one.more silly questions of mine. I am a developer, I often need you do debugging while phone is connected to PC and charging. So in regards to safety I hope anker batteries are just like HTC stock batteries. So.while its charging and in use simultaneously, I hope it won't explode or something sorry for being a safety paranoid.

Probably seller's mistake. I bought from the same seller through ebay and two days after, he set 2 pieces for $49. I paid $28 without the charger.
Just reporting in..
Using anker for 2 days here are my simple observations.
Up time : 20 hours
Awake time : 8 hours
Battery remaining : 16%
I am not a gamer, but i read a lot on phone and watch movies with flash player and talk (audio/video) to people over Skype / Viber everyday for over an hour. WiFi stays on whole day.. even when I sleep. So using the device continuous for over 7 hours on hand with brightness set to auto, and still having 14% of battery is a unexpected happiness for me.
I wouldn't want to expect more than this. !!
Sent from my HTC Sensation Z710e using xda app-developers app
8 hours with screen on? Which rom are you using? That's a really great performance! I got mine for 24 hours usage but only 2 screen on.
Am using stock ROM. My typical usage includes watching movies for 2 hours, web browsing for 1-2 hours.in total. Gtalk, viber, Skype usage. (About 1 hour or less) and music plays even when screen is off. Screen brightness is mostly auto because I don't like reflections when reading text. WiFi remains on all the time.
This is after anker, before that of I tried screen brightness it would need charging 2 times a say. Now I make it through whole day one single charge. Mind you I don't play games at all, so may be that helps.
