Anyone know if there's a way to attach the Motorola car dock for the RAZR Maxx HD to a ProClip car mount?
Car Dock mounting specs
Can't speak about the ProClip mount, but the VZW car dock use the SAME SIZE mounting ball as Garmin GPS units use. I have a GPS mount attached to the dashboard just to the left of the steering column; the VAW Razr HD mount attached to it perfectly!

Ahh, great! So I imagine something like this should work fine...

I bought the pro clip adjustable holder originally for a galaxy nexuxs plus case and it adjusts to fit the RAZR maxx hd just fine.

I have a ProClip mount (not the adapter part) that when mounted has a horizontal base, so I stuck the car mount adhesive backed suction cup disk to that and that way I can easily remove it if I want. Works great.

I think either of the Capdase car mounts will be suitable for the N1.
You can find them at Vinko's Treasures under Car Accessories.

If the OEM car dock does not come out soon, I'm going to purchase one of these. You can get one that has a felt lining to protect the phone.

Won't either the Capdase "Car Mount Duo Holder" or "Car Mount Holder" do the trick? They both has cushioned padding to protect the phone from being damaged while installed in the holder.
I just got my Blaze and about the only thing I miss about my Defy was the car mount I had purchased. Has anyone used a universal car mount that they feel works well with this phone? Preferably a suction mount. I know there's quite a few choices, which has me spinning.
Check out Arkon dash mount. There is a video on YouTube and works really well. I own one myaelf

I know this thread is a bit old, but in case anyone was unaware, there is an official samsung car mount for this device that docks/charges.
You can get it off Amazon for $35. As a new xda user, I can't yet post links, but search Amazon for the model number " ECS-K1G4BEGSTA ".

I use a universal suction type mount and it works great! I even move it to the side windows when I am parked and want to watch a movie. I have never had an issue with it falling off. It is the best one that I have found. Only issue I see is that it does not adapt to the thicker cases that I have bought or the ones that have a belt clip knob. Hope it helps!

How do you mount Xperia Z in your car? POST. Did anyone use the same as this car mount?
Where did you get it, and also give some comment on it.
Any post will be appreciated.
I use the mounts from proclipusa.com. Not sure if it's US only or if they have international ones, but they make mounts specifically for every car model with multiple locations to mount it such as off to the side of your cup holder or on the dashboard.
They aren't cheap mounts that you put on your windshield or stick it in one of your vent. These are rather pricey, the mount for your car is like $40 and the phone specific holder is also around $40. They have universal ones that can be adjusted and what not.

I'm using a different kind of universal car mount, but the idea is the same. Something you have to keep in mind, with sidegrips like that, they will probably be pressing your volume buttons all the time. Mine has some padding on the sidegrips, so it's not so bad, but those look like it could be a problem.

I have the same
I've got a nice little setup going.
First I bought this: http://www.mobilefun.com/39176-roadcharge-micro-usb-car-holder-and-charger.htm
Then I bought this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-sony-Xperia-Z-L36h-2800mAh-External-Battery-Charger-Backup-power-Case-Cover-/181161699056?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Batteries&hash=item2a2e1426f0
I plug the RoadCharge into my car outlet and the Powerbank into the RoadCharge and I'm all set.
No messy micro usb cables or glue needed, I can easily slide my Z in and out, it's just a perfect car dock.
I'll post pics later if anyone's interested.
I bought a spare charging dock which has the port on the side which is useful. Then but a non slip mat, and now it looks like I have a gps in my car

Hi, unfortunately I've already sold my Z and moved on to the Z1 so I can't provide you pictures.
However I can definitely guarantee that the 2 items I linked to above worked as a great car dock. You just put your Z into the battery case and then plug your battery case into the Micro USB slot of the road charge. Subsequently you can just keep the battery case permanently plugged in your car and easily mount and unmount your phone.
Hope that helps!

just picked up my Z the other day and for the time being, I just stand my phone in my change drawer while driving and the square shape seems to hold it in place pretty nice.
I use this:
http://www.dx.com/p/car-air-outlet-swivel-mount-holder-stand-support-for-sony-xperia-z-l36h-black-201267
The fit is a little tight but I just filed down the edges and it works great.
Edit:
They also have a suction-cup windshield mount if that's what you prefer:

I need a new car mount as I had the old Moto X dock. Has anyone had any success with universal car mounts? I would ideally want something that had a small footprint and allowed for easy charging. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
I use the breffo spiderpodium. Universal as heck.
Wow that's a unique dock! Not quite my style though, but thanks
I use the iOttie that I bought on amazon here:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B007FHX9OK
I highly recommend it. The one touch mechanism feels really natural.
I looked at that one and nearly bought it. I went with the Griffin Window Seat 3 and will see how it goes. I liked the minimal look to it.

If you use a case I would go with a magnetic car dock. I swear by these because the have such a small profile and are very versatile. The best thing about these is that if your phone has wireless charging (which is the only thing I miss now that I have the Moto X) it sticks to the charger without a metal plate in your case.
I have the mountek:
http://www.mountek.com/shop/categor...i-use-car-mount-smartphones-and-mini-tablets/
ProClip makes some pretty nice mounts that include the charger built in to it. Here is a link to the old Moto X docks. I emailed them and they said it will take a few weeks to make the design for the new Moto X, but they are definitely making one.

It's been a long time since I posted here. Just came to look for stuff for my soon to arrive Moto X (2014) and spotted this thread. I currently use this mounting system with my current Moto X (2013) and have done with previous phones:
http://www.tetrax.com/xway/
They've very strong magnets that you mount in your car either straight on to the dashboard, via a small tiltable 'X' for larger devices or (my personal choice) the ones which clamp onto the air vents. You then stick a small metal 'dot' on the back of your device (I've always stuck the 'dot' to a case which I've had the phone in, but I suspect it'd be fine straight on the device.
The great thing about this system is that you can have multiple magnets (I've got one on the head of my bed to hold my phone near me as it charges at night), and multiple devices with 'dots' on them for the same mounts. They're very strong, and removing the device from the mount is as simple as pulling it it away from the magnets and to the side slightly.
I actually prefer mounts that include charging so I don't have to plug in the USB cord every time.

I'll keep an eye on that dock too even though it's probably going to be around fifty bucks. Mind bumping this thread when you hear it's released?
The Scosche magicMounts are awesome. They are the magnetic mounts that you can buy at Walmart.
I really hope that there will be a car dock from Griffin. I've got the Griffin car dock for the MX 2013 and it's fantastic. I love how secure it fits and that it turns in driving mode automatically due to the magnet in the dock.
Does any other dock currently on the market have the magnet to put the MX in driving mode? And I love the USB port so that I don't have to plug it into the phone every time I put it in the dock.

Otterbox defender. Army boots for your phone.
Easy holster conversion into a carkit using crazy glue. The x2 version should be out by now.
I prefer cd slot mounts. This is what i am using:

Image of Griffin Window Seat 3 installed.
Works great for Droid Ultra and Moto X 2014

I bought the Scosche vent mount, and I'm pretty pleased. It came with a suction cup mount for a window/dash as well.
But the vent mount works perfectly for me. Stays on well, and rotates for Landscape view that I like to use when using navigation.
Paid ~$25 at Walmart.

Has anyone tried an iBolt mount? Also, can anyone confirm that the new X will activate car mode with a magnet?

This is my very first thread.
anyone is using magnetic car mount for their V30? is it safe for using it?
I jave been usong a Scosche magnetic mount for a few years now. The V30 will be the third phone with it. AFAIK there are no negative effects. I did check my signal strength and bandwidth with and without the magnetic mount present and didn't notice any change.
I can totally recommend the convenience of them; no locking and unlocking of any brackets. I put a fixed mount in my car and bought a suction mount to use while in work cars or my wife's vehicle.
I wouldn't trust a magnetic mount for your bike but its fine in a car.

I have this one: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B01AMGFY5M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Works great with Spigen clear case, didn't glue the metal band to the phone. It even holds my wife's S8+ in a thick wallet case.
thank you both. I'll go for this one for look. https://www.amazon.com/Spigen-QS11-...d=1517156915&sr=8-5&keywords=spigen+air+mount
