why wouldn't you search google or xda forums for guides?
I've been teaching myself how update source for a vanilla cm10 ROM for my tablet, search google with your device model and question, you'll get great results.
"g2x how can i build a cm10 rom" and see what comes up!

[Q] Want to learn to Port ROMs from Vibrant to the SGS4G!

The Rom that i would like to learn to port is the Rom from Neobuddy, which is an ICS port to the vibrant! Can I get a Dev, or two or three to help me to learn to do this please? (RaverX3X, Whitehawkx, Krylon.......The Super Devs! lol)
Thank you in advance!

They're not going to use their time to teach you how to port if you don't already know the basics, they're all working on their own projects. My advice would be to learn how to do it yourself using Google. There are plenty of ROM porting guides out there, but porting ICS to this phone might be a little out of your league for now.
Wouldnt it be easier to port from an epic 4g aswell ?? i think its a more similar phone id start by just looking at any piece of info on porting thats out there
Check out this link and google the hell out of porting and find many guides like this one.. This one is well written from what i have read. http://www.freeyourandroid.com/guide/porting-android

This will help you with porting a vibrant ROM to the SGS4G, but I don't think it will be useful for ICS. From what I have read, we don't have a true ICS ROM (support) yet.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1099454&highlight=porting
Does the epic 4g have the 16gb internel sdcard like Cappy and Vibrant? Or is it formatted like the SGS4G and use the externel sdcard?
Im pretty sure its the closest thing to a SGS4g right now.. also for porting vibrant this was posted in our forums a long long time ago.. i don't think anyone has successfully used it yet.

Im checking it out now seeing how it works. Ill keep ya updated if anything cool happens lol.

You can ask in the same thread, a couple of people are trying to compile CM7, maybe you can help each other it's a bit of a mess because we don't have a forum section but when you have time, read from the beginning to understand what had happened with the phone and maybe you are the one who can give us our 1st custom ROM!

We do not have many developers, but we have good developers.
Now we have CM10 on going, it is useless (no call), but works wifi and 3G data, and i think we will have a stable rom soon, because they work very fast.
I have this phone and i am satisfied with support of friends of forums.

Encryption
Has anyone successfully encrypted their Burst with any of the ROMs? I could not get any of the JB ROMs to encrypt, only a ICS ROM (Gizmolord) worked. Is anyone running a ROM with the device encrypted? Any additional problems with the ROM if you are?

[Q] Where are the Roms?

I was just curious why their are so little roms for this version of the One X compared to the international version. I like the Roms that we have, but its kinda of frustrating when their is a lack of parody in our threads compared to the the international version.

REALLY?
We have no kernel source yet. To have what we have, including AOKP and CM9 is amazing.
What kind of ROM are you looking for? If you tell us I'm sure that we have something to fit your needs.

Listen guys, take no offense to what I am saying, so before someone wants to say "why dont you make a rom" As I stated Im just curious. Some the roms that I've seen are Charmeleon Rom, maXimus V2.1, PARANOIDANDROID etc. This is the Q&A thread so the topic is just. I'm appreciative of the developers and roms out their. I just wanted to know why their wasn't a lot of variety.
I answered your question.
NO KERNEL SOURCE=FEW ROMS
I tried my hand at porting ParanoidAndroid a few days back but their repo wouldn't download for me. I've moved on to just porting pure AOSP.

How to build Cm10.1 for p999

Developers please guide me in detail How to build Cm10.1 for p999. I've been waiting a long time but still can not get a perfect rom cm10.1 for p999, so I want to create a rom for p999 cm10.1, but I do not know how, would you please help me! thanks for all!
You're gonna be waiting a while. There is no perfect working 10.1 for our device.
Nor is any dev going to come in here and just start blabbering away on how to make a rom. If you're interested in development i would use the search function. I've seen a few tutorials on this site. Learning to code isn't easy, basically another language
I won't go into details, but look into the optimus 2x forums there's a howto for this...you will simply have to change the repo manifests to point out the ones specific to the g2x. If you have absolutely no knowledge in development nor patience to use the search engine to fix the compiler bugs one by one, forget this...it's not meant yet to work on this device out-of-the-box using CM repos

Thanks for replying.
I still dont really understand which one to pick, when ive read through some of the threads about the kernels. it doesnt say anything about compatability with my rom.
Is it just a case of trail and error?
Thanks again for any help ( and being patient )

First you have to understand what type of rom you're using. (Android version, sense version (if applicable)). So, you're looking for a kernel for jb roms (cm10/10.1 etc.) (hint: there's only one)
By the way, why do you want a different kernel? What improvements are you looking for?
I'm looking for a kernel that will let me over volt my CPU, just wanted to try it.
I'm running 4.2.2 on jellyfirebeanv2
