How do I limit them to actual contacts/google+ friends?
It seems anyone who I emailed even once appears there. Well I don't want to contact them again and if I do, I'll use email.
Tried removing but I can't see any options.
Thanks
I'm facing the same issue?
P.S. @mrjayviper: Sorry for Hijacking ur thread

This idea just hit me:
What if i create a group in my Contact say "MyPhoneContacts" , add the required ppl to that group & under Contacts in my phone i set to display only above group, this shud work. I'm gonna try that when i get home & get back to you.
seems this is a "feature" of google+ messenger (http://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/google-plus-discuss/veJJQnUbobM). Google in their infinite knowledge decided for me who should appear on the people list when I open up google+ messenger.
My friends don't even show up!
beginning to think, the grass is not much greener on the other side when I decided to switch to Android. (I'm almost sure the problem persist in the iOS version but it's google's attitude that's pissing me off)
forgot to try this
I'll try today w/o fail, else deleting my G+ account seems to be the only option

This is an attempt to clean up the threads. It's getting pretty old reading about people's requests for GV invites in pretty much EVERY thread.
Rules:
-ONLY POST TO THIS THREAD IF YOU HAVE INVITES TO GIVE OUT!
People with GV invites to give out:
-Post the number of invites you have/are willing to give away.
-Once you are out of invites, EDIT your original post showing that you have none to give out.
People requesting a GV invite:
- PM the person that says they have an invite, they will edit their post once they run out.
- DO NOT ASK FOR INVITES ON THE THREAD...let's keep it clean of requests, this will allow all people looking for invites to know exactly who has invites to give out
Let's hope this brings a little organization to the GV invite debacle we currently have.
NOTE:
To check if you have invites
~Use web to log into GV: http://www.google.com/voice
~Number of invites is in the lower left hand corner
To PM a person:
~click on the user name of who you want to PM
~ select 'Send Private message to <USER NAME>'
I HAVE NO MORE INVITES
I will update this post if/when I get more.
DO NOT POST TO THIS THREAD ASKING FOR AN INVITE!
I will edit my post once my GV inivite goes out...if you didn't get a responce PM from me, you were not first...sorry. I'm sure others will post stating thay have invites to give out.
Gone, Will post with more in the future

If I had invites, where would I see them? I've never used the interwebs interface with google voice (just on my phone). You might want to include that information in the OP for people like me who can easily overlook the obvious.

Thanks man..Can someone lend me a hand on setting up this Google Voice...My gmail is [email protected] , just hit me on GTalk
Hey, I'm not sure if I can ask a question regarding GV, but I'll try it and I'm sorry if I wasn't supposed to.
I try to set up my GV, but when I call the number it beeps twice - four times and then disconnects with a "call lost" message. Everything looks right, but when I call myself and leave a voicemail I get a stupid text saying I have a voicemail and need to call some number to get it (not a GV number or any associated with me). When I go to the Voice app, I have the welcome voicemail and no others. It has a number it set for the voicemail number and Google voice as the voicemail service. I've tried signing out and back in, but it keeps trying to get me to call the number with the * in front of it and I keep getting the "call lost" error. Any help would be appreciated. I'm using the latest version of DamageControl. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Got it working. Needed to change it from Google Voice to Carrier.
removed thanks
I can't see where to find the invites at on my g-voice account...
Anyone got a solution to this? Lots of forums still send plan text mails for notifications, and the URLs dont get parsed as hyperlinks
I can't believe ANYONE is not having this issue?!
Noone else having this issue?
Nope all my forums that send me emails (even in text format) have nice blue clickable hyperlinks.
Are your xda emails not working?
Nope, see attached screenshot
Bump
Mine looks like that but has blue links. Have you got parsing hyperlinks turned off?

I can't seem to find any setting for that, where is it?
Just tried a full wipe, reinstall ROM, factory reset, and the problem persists
This tablet is useless for emails!
Just tried flashing Baked Bean ROM instead, still same problem. Apparantly everyone uses Gmail instead of the email app.......
I can't duplicate the problem, but the HTC forums might have a solution for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1696536 . or try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1693809 .
Hope it works.

I'm using the Email app for an Exchange/ActiveSync account. Just checked a plain text email from a Redhat mailing list, and the links were clickable.
Another strange observation, if I ad the account as imap, links work!
Same for me. Sometime links are not clickable (exchange accout). Maybe only, if they are not real hyperlinks so its up to the email client to recognize a web address.
A bigger problem for me is, that emails sometime does not show correctly - because wrong character or coding page not recognized?. On my HTC Desire Z phone the same email shows correctly.

Its all the emails sent in text instead of HTML that cause this. Ive noe gutter nailed it down to it only happening on my private mail server (running Kerio Connect, it's exchange compatible), on the "proper" exchange server at work text mails get parsed properly.
Strange that my Galaxy S3 doesn't have the same problem then....
I received a text/picture via hangouts which I opened to expand. Then someone else sent three pictures in the same conversation converting the message to mms however when I click on any of the second set of pictures it opens briefly and then the first message picture takes over. The only solution I found was to delete the original picture so that I can open any other picture. Is anyone else seeing that issue?
YES! I have the same problem! I do not want to delete the first picture. Hangout is broken for MMS! Yet after the last update.
How many people still use hangouts? A lot of the free sms/mms apps do everything better and more efficiently
yea is a mms bug. annoying one at that. i side loaded the original 4.3 sms just so i can view and save MMS slideshows. Google is apparently working on it. fastest send/receiving mms app i ever used tho.

What app do you recommend? I've been reluctant to try anything else because as much as this bug annoys me, hangouts does a pretty good job at what I need it to do.
I use Hello. Beautifully minimal but not for everyone.

This current application from Skype has very ugly design and I was hoping if you guys knew any other application for Skype IM? Same goes with Facebook, Facebook in the other hand has better design but it's ugly as well and it's hell of a lot buggy.
no
I understand this isn't the answer that you want, but no, you can not use an alternative.
However something you should try/look into is Google Hangouts and Hangouts Dialer. Let's do VoIP calls like Skype, and instant messaging to anyone with Google account. 2 Birds with one stone kinda thing. Your friends probably have google plus accounts, so should work just fine.
can't make video or phone calls via skype and viber
hello!! i can't make video or phone call via skype and viber!!can you help me?anyone have the same problem??
You can't get a copy of Skype reskinned ! I use kakao talk as it's crystal clear and my wife and I love the emmotions packs. Beware you can spend a fortune on them, though there's no need. Calls and messages totally free and no limits. It's battery friendly too)

# MESSAGE FOR MODERATORS #
The following, DISPOSABLE Gmail email addressed were created by me - JUST NOW - for the SOLE purpose of spreading Google Inbox invites. I DO NOT use the addresses, I DO NOT CARE if they get spam, there are solely for generating Google inbox invites. They have passwords NOTHING LIKE my own password, and fake credentials. Please, PLEASE DO NOT remove the email addresses in this post, as - again - they are EMPTY, do not contain ANY contacts or contact info, many thanks.
Here - these two (disposable) Gmail accounts have just been created, and are Google Inbox activated and ready. All you need to do is add one of these accounts to your Android device (turn off ALL SYNC on the temporary account, if I were you), then launch (or install then launch) Google Inbox app ON THE ANDROID DEVICE, then go to Inbox app, and "Settings >> Manage Accounts" and select YOUR Gmail account, then REMOVE the disposable account from your device(s), as YOU are now Google Inbox activated on YOUR account. So, here are the credentials needed:
username #1: [email protected]
password: "sillypassword"
username #2: [email protected]
password: "sillypassword"
If you can't understand what I mean about switching accounts, read this:
http://venturebeat.com/2014/10/28/h...d&utm_campaign=Feed:+Venturebeat+(VentureBeat)
Enjoy
Didn't work for me, as soon as I switch accounts, as directed, within inbox, I get the "you don't seem to have an invite yet" message.
---------- Post added at 12:26 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:12 AM ----------
Yep double checked it again, from scratch, no dice. Well thanks for the effort. If anyone DOES get this to work, PM me if you have a moment with some insight.
Hi, I think its best you just delete those accounts as I couldnt login without answer a security question.
I thanked you for trying to help. Keep up the good work.
Sent from my XT1033 using XDA Free mobile app
Switching does not work
The switching trick dosent work although the given ID and password worked.
P.S the first id was already changed by some one
Okay folks, it appears my plan didn't quite work out. The reason I didn't directly say "Hey, I have a load of invites to give away - come and get them" is because:
#1 My personal email address is private and I don't want a flood of strangers begging me for invites, via it.
#2 Refer to #1.
Sorry it didn't work out. I have given one invite out, but I'm sure a little patience will do you ALL good, and strengthen your characters. In this instant gratification world, it's extremely healthy and edifying to learn that you cannot ALWAYS get EVERYTHING at the click of a button. I had to wait a week for my invite (hard life, isn't it) so I suppose many of you will have to do that too. Patience is a virtue, so learn to be virtuous.
God bless, take care.
@glossywhite
do you know gmail has a option that saves the IP address of the most recent computer visited GMAIL ID. It can compromise anybody security. :good:
Anyone that is still interested in getting any invites can feel free to check out the main thread for them located here:
