So i bought this new original battery...FAKE! (www.htcaccessorystore.com) - Desire Accessories

My battery has been lasting about 30 minutes tops in the last time so i decided to buy a new one (looking back i remember the battery beeing sticky on the back as if something had leaked..).
Got a first one on amazon, obviously fake since it was poorly made, although differences were subtle (the fakers seem to have gotten their hands on the original labeling foils, so these were identical). Also i got weird results in Nexus One battery calibrator app , e.g. 104856mAh for a 1.400mAh battery (see screenshots). Long story short, i sent i back thinking it was impossible to get a genuine batteries on amazon...
So i turned up the official HTC store (cant post the link.. htcaccessorystor dot com) and ordered a Bravo Battery...and was really surprised to see the same allegedly faked values in the Nexus one battery calibrator app....also de foils werent attached tightly in some places and just now wenn i took it out with my fingernail a piece of foil came off. my original htc battery came with the phone 3 years doesnt have a scratch and shows completely different and realistic values. After ~14h of usage (mostly standby) the new battery is now down to 10% and demanded the charger...(not that bad actually but still, with my custom rom it should last a lot longer).
So now I´m asking myselft whether even they are selling us the fakes or what?! Or maybe the fakes have become too good so even they can´t tell lol...
Do the "strange" values from the app prove that the battery has been manipulated?

where are my attachments? edit: there they are...

hey blaxxxun44
Have a look to this screenshot from my phone with a so called "official" battery :
I get two "official" batteries with the same symptom before so I stopped to search anymore.
I get full refund for defective or fake item from the two sellers but this one come from HTCaccessories too ...
maybe I'll buy a mugen power if this one dies ...

Last one with 1 year last 15min... I buy a original battery too and going to receive in 1h (DHL)... Any advice for first time charging?

Interesting..what app was that screenshot with?

buying "original" batteries here in germany is like a lottery (unless you want to pay 30€ in a HTC online store)
its a lot of trial and error until you find a battery that fits well in the phone AND lasts like a real original...
As it seems that I lost my second battery some days ago, I will need to go through this again in the coming weeks.
Wish me luck guys

Andida 1800MhA Ace Battery

Recieved this dirt cheap (so called High Capacity1800mAh) chinese battery today, if anyone is interested I post my results and findings, after using it for a couple of days. Got it from www.obostore.com

after using and comparing to stock battery my conclusion is I get the same hours from this battery (which I expected) still it's a cheap replacement if you need one I posted a review on the website of www.obostore.com and they refuse to publish it, that says enough I think, right ? chinese fake

Thats what I thought too, as it's the same size. still wanted to give it a testdrive, It's only the price of a Mc Donalds happymeal and free shipping so I ordered one for fun. Will post my findings after is properly calibrated.
Its not too great.....its not too bad. for what you paid....you get a battery than the stock on. Have been using it for a month now.
I'd love to hear your experience with it. Let us know! If it's any good, I'll be buying it...

I think the real capacity will be about 1100Mah zo 130 less then the original battery, as i'm in China right now I went one day on path to find me a spare battery for mine DHD and many just asked to high prices and I hadnt any faith that those higher Mah's would be really true.
So after looking at so many small shops in Guangzhou I came at this shop where the girl first needed look, being suprised that they where not selling battery's with false Mah's on, in fact it was a 1100Mah and I bought it just for 30rmb, all other sellers asked me about 40 a 50, one even dared ask more then 80.
The brand is Speedy, its a brand from Hongkong speedycom.hk/
It's to bad such brands wouldnt survive on eBay because most people will just go for the higher number even though the higher number is just a lie.
im interesting too

No the original htc battery is IMO the best battery on the market.
Guys, honestly I can't understand why you all want to try something that has been tried and proved several times to be fake.
Those guys make money on their lies and you help them expand and design their next lie which we will have to buy again before we realise the truth.
My opinion is that all people who bought similar batteries should return them and request refund because what they bought was not what was described. You bought a 1800/1500 or whatever mAh battery which was really 1240. If eBay or Paypal is involved, you can claim your money very easily.
buying batteries from these mass production factories from china is playing with your life dude....either they will short circuit your mobile board, else it will just blow up under slight increase of temperature.... please be caution and use only when your main original battery dies off and use this as backup and not for long hours usage....
also need a better battery

Is there anyway to check the actual power of the battery? I bought a 1600mah off ebay and it does seem to last a couple of hours longer than the original, but that might be cos i started using a custom rom after i bought it lol

Of course best of them cost much... but still your DHD maybe will live longer.

Mugen 4500mAh Extended Battery for G2X

Look what I found on Mugen's international site. Of course it has a new back cover for the phone because the battery is so chubby. But 4500mAh, dang!

thanks for the link but NO WAY! $100+ is way to rich for my blood...
i just ordered 2 of these. i like the idea plus they are solar and charge all my gadgets on top of my phone. and shipping from china is 22 for dhl but they are worth it and are the size or smaller than our phone! holds almost twice the charge with multiple voltages including 3.7v which is ours.
Total was around $52 after shipping but just sell one or keep the other for twice as much! ill repost this link in thread.

look at the back cover on that thing and then the shape of the batter! what a waste of space!
I am sorry but I get plenty of juice out of my battery, i dont know what i would do with a battery twice the size let alone three times the size of my current one... that **** would last all week without needing a recharge!
honestly for the same price, little bigger and more juice i could just lug around a mini nuclear reactor... where is tony stark when you need him? im trying to hook my phone up with that mini arc reactor bro!
Yeah, that is way too bulky for the size. If they wanted to extend the back of it, why wouldnt they make the battery a sort of P shape that extends further up the back so it doesnt have to bulge as much?
I MIGHT buy a battery that only makes the back case flush with the camera. I already dont like that camera hump on the back, so a battery that only needed to extend that much or a tiny bit more would be perfect. Maybe like a 2500mAh?
Thread cleanup, back on topic please.
My question here is this: Is it completely safe to use this battery?
I'm thinking perhaps in the future I might want to buy one because I deplete my battery extremely fast with constant use. The only thing I'm worried about is if it will hurt my phone in any way.

you know I was thinking this too, but I did watch some reviews on youtube on their other 4500 mah extended batteries for other android phone models. It doesn't look that bad, infact it seems to make the phones look like a tiny miniature powerhouse PCs from the future.
Right now it says their sold out and will get new stock in June, I'm definitley gonna get one. If like the reviews say that some people don't have to charge this extended battery after 3 days of heavy use then I'll be in G2x heaven. Infact, I would bet as LG was in the design proces for the phone that they were shooting for a phone that could last for 3-5 days on one battery charge, but since marketing research thinks consumers will only buy a slim form factor cell phone, they opted to cut corners on performance for cosmetics, which absolutley sucks in my opinion.

Right on, can't wait for the review. Just wanted to ask though, I saw that they were out of stock and that they'd get more in stock and if I ordered on that certain day I looked on the site, I would get it on June 3rd. I looked at the site again and it said if I ordered that day I'd get it on the 10th, now I checked again today and it said if I ordered I'd get it on the 6th. What gives with all the different ship dates?
You also said you just got the 4800 for your Atrix.
When did you order that one and how long did it take for you to recieve it?
How was it shipped out to you, UPS or USPS?
How did you purchase, with credit card or paypal?
How professional are they and quality of the product?
Does the product come with a specific charger?
And how long did your Atrix last on standard battery and how long does the Mugen battery last?
Sorry for the questions, I'm just very interested in this battery and I'm so ready to purchase, just waiting till they get it in stock, before I ordered, although I'm so anxious just to put in the order now and wait for them to ship it out to me on the proposed date a couple weeks later. But is that wise?

Check the forums for an easy to build tester. I tested a few, and stock batteries for g2 and vibrant, none of the extended ones lived up to their claims. They had more capacity, but not what they claimed, and some caused instability. Stock oem tested within 5%. Extended varied wildly, best being about 25% shy of stated. Imo, that's false advertising at best.
I still have the tester set up. Ship me a battery and I'll test it for you if you like. I'll even pay to ship it back to you, but I will post about it here if you do. Personally, I'm not wasting any more money on them for myself.

The quality of the product is awesome. At least so far. This is my second Mugen battery. I had one for the nexus one as well. worked just fine. The one for the atrix ROCKS right now. On average usage (with stock battery) I would get about 1.5 days. With the Mugen, I hit 3 days with 1 full charge under the same usage pattern
Does the product come with a specific charger?
Nope. Just the battery and the back cover.
And how long did your Atrix last on standard battery and how long does the Mugen battery last?
1.5 days vs. 3 days

By the way, I had a Milestone as well, which also had an extended battery but from Seidio, and that battery i was NOT happy with. Did not add anything in addition to the stock.
The only way to test a battery is using an external load / voltmeter jig. Based on my past experience with Mugen, their 4500mAh battery will test out much lower, my bet is somewhere around 3400mAh. Just enough to make you feel like you got value for your money. Theres no way the average consumer can compare battery life using the phone itself.

So far, it's been good (I'm still talking about the Mugen Atrix battery since I haven't reeived the G2x one yet). Far better than the stock battery (not just by a couple of hours but by days) so I'm happy

I'll pay a hundred bucks to get at least 2-3 days on one charge. Anything to get rid of this miserable battery life that makes you feel anxiety when you're away from an outlet, especially if you use the G2x like I do which is on the internet constantly browsing and watching vids and playing vid games.
Although on another note, auto airplane mode does indeed make the phone somewhat viable and stops the drastic bleeding when the phone is not being used, and I also notice that under settings> accounts & sync> background data turned off also helps very much with the horrible battery drain when on standby.
Tmobile has sent me a replacement battery which I had to pay $10 shipping, so I might recieve it on the 3rd of June, I'll hold off on the Mugen 4500 mah and see how the replacement from tmobile goes and play around with the other settings I just mentioned. I just don't like the idea of switching out the batteries each time. Gonna put wear and tear on the battery cover and all, so even though I have an extra battery, I'm still considering the Mugen extended.

I know exactly what you mean! That is the reason I was willing to spend $100+ on a battery because I didn't want to bother carrying extra batteries all the time or swapping them out or worry about charging each one..
I have one, lasts me 3+ days and don't have to swap anything.
Might not be ideal for most people, might be heavy but hey... it's perfect for me
Without a doubt, there is value in having a battery that can last 2 or 3 days. I've purchased large capacity batteries from Mugen and Seidio, and happily used them.
But, for the price paid for these batteries, I also expected to get what was advertised in terms of mAh rating. It irritates me that these companies feel that they can just print whatever inflated rating they want on these batteries and there is no consequence for them.
Heres what I've determined: High quality OEM batteries I've used in the last 4 years all have been around 1500mAh, as that seems to be the sweet spot in terms of size vs capacity for a phone manufacturer. Mugen & Seidio use cheaper cells, typically 1200mAh for the same physical dimensions as the OEM cell. From there, its simple math, 2 cells equals 2400mAh (not the 3000mAh stamped on the sticker. My guess, without even looking at a picture, is that the Mugen 4500mAh battery is a 3 cell unit with a real capacity of 3600mAh.
3600mAh is not a bad setup, I'd throw $100 for it. But I'd still be irritated.
What would be really nice is the manufacturer giving us the option of buying another cell, the stock oem battery with a replacement back that had a charge balance circuit and anything else it would need to be reliable. Known good cells, just an extra one.

like nearly all batterys from japan or china or that are made in china/japan are dirt tbh only decent one out the are anker batterys or mugen batterys
If there are higher capacity batteries on the market, why on earth HTC doesn`t fit them in their phones directly so we don`t have to buy them?

Total piece of junk!!! Stay away from it, better off buying the Anker one that is circulating around. seems to be very popular and it works for me. That Japanese one keeps freezing my phone. I think that thing will damage your phone if you keep messing with it.
Yeah I don't think you should buy this. I usually buy my batteries from HTC Depot or from T-Mobile. Don't trust anything you get from overseas. I bought a battery once, turned out it was filled with some sort of sand -_-.

On extended batteries...

Hi all, just stopping in for a bit with some information pertaining to extended batteries.
Most, if not all extended batteries made for the Infuse were made when the phone was first introduced over 2.5 years ago. That being said, understand that Li-Ion batteries do have a shelf life not unlike that of alkaline batteries in the sense that their useful life gets shorter over time. Li-ion batteries come from the factory with a full charge in preparation for the perceived storage time, and will usually be sold before the end of their useful life cycle. Most times this is around 3 years.
See where this is going?
If the extended batteries were made when our phone was introduced, and our phone is now around 2.5 years old, AND Li-Ion batteries only have around a 3 year shelf life, what's to say were not being sold junk when we buy an extended battery from an online auction site?
I've had good experiences and bad ones with buying extended batteries online, and most vendors are willing to work with you in the event of a failed battery, but you will notice that less and less of these extended batteries will be offered for sale, and the ones that are will be nearly brand new with a hefty price tag to boot.

My thinking exactly, didn't know if it was legitimate though, and I was only guessing at approximate shelf life so thanks Pox for confirmation! I ordered a new battery just yesterday!
Only 1800 mAh though. I'm only trying to see if it's the infamous power button issue or not that's causing shut downs and I need to rule out a faulty battery (currently running some cheap 1450 mAh $5 battery from cellphoneshop.net, first and last time I get that one) as an issue.
I generally found that every extended beyond 2100 mAh requires a new back, making the phone thicker and therefore incompatible with most cases.
Well, as to prove a point and make me look foolish, the extended battery in my gfs Infuse decided it was time to let out the magic smoke just last night.
It erupted with enough force to crack the screen from the inside (outer screen is undamaged) and got hot enough to melt the sim card to the socket!
I will be taking pictures as I would like to try to get the seller of the battery to either replace or repair the phone. If not I'll be seeking another Infuse...

I don't think it's beyond repair, but to be honest I don't think it's worth the effort.
It does boot with nothing on the screen but a screen to fit this phone is actually more than I can get the phone for.
I was able to boot the phone and extract the over 8gig of pics and various other stuff, now the phone is sitting in waiting for Samsung or the seller of the defective battery to get back to me about a possible replacement.

I would be interested to hear as well. From what I see on Ebay/Amazon, many batteries are pulls from old phones, even when they are advertised as new (there is glue on the back, etc). Which means unless your battery is totally dead it won't offer much improvement. Particularly if they are abused by sitting on shelves for a year discharged.
I do know the OEM battery has a manufacturing date on the bottom, however I really doubt they are still being made.
I have looked for batteries made by reputable 3rd party makers like Anker but they seem to cater to the removable battery phone, not internal.
I don't care about it being original, but it sure needs to be good. Seems we have no options so far.
My Nexus 4 battery died and I had to change it.
The first battery I got was from https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00SMMFWZQ
It worked well but after 3 months, I was back to 50% capacity. It seemed like a reconditioned battery. It had a date on it which was January 2015. However the label had been tampered with, some sections were blacked out with a marker.
So I bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00X1USMBA
This seems to be a new battery made out of new cells.
After one month this battery still holds 100% charge.
I bought the one mentioned in the battery thread in this forum back in January of 2016 and have not had any issues.

Aliexpress still sells original OEM LG batteries marked with Jan 2016 Date. I thought LG stopped making these batteries some time ago.

Hey
i bought this www.ebay.com/itm/301596384001
i replaced it two days ago and its great performance
you can buy the original battery (and almost every part of the nexus 4 ,5, 5x) at (official spare parts distributer providing worldwide delivery): http://www.spareslg.com/gb/bateria-....html?search_query=nexus+4+battery&results=16
where you buy the battery from ?
I bought a battery on AliExpress last week, it took 10 days from order to delivery to Belgium (impressive).
I haven't installed it in my Nexus 4 yet (still waiting for the tools to come... shipping not as fast as wth the battery lol)
at least it looks very new. will report back once I install it and test it for a few days.

That looks pretty authentic -- anything make it seem like that's a KIRF version? Also, link please.

The product webpage says "CUUSEY" as the brand so it's most likely a 3rd party copy (or a reconditioned battery)
you can find it here http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Orig...s-For-LG-Google-Nexus-4-E960/32659188109.html
Still haven't installed it in my phone so still can't comment on the quality of it.

Can you share your impression about the battery performance? That'll really help users who are looking to get a replacement battery. I replaced from LG service center but saw no improvements compared to the 3 year old battery

I finally installed my battery over the weekend. So far so good. Battery life doubled (I'm running the fake nexus marshmallow rom). I can finally go out for drinks without taking my power pack (had barely 4 hours of usage (not SOT) before!)
Sadly, a few days before I swapped the battery, the digitizer on my N4 finally gave up (like on so many others) and I have a vertical dead zone on my screen. I don't really feel like investing time and money to replace it so this is the end of the road for my good ol' Nexus 4. Hopefully a Pixel XL will replace it next month.

So you could send me your battery, as you seems to be one among the few finding a GOOD one
I've received the battery from AliExpress. It looks like it is a fake battery. Installed it just now.
Will post about how it performs in this week :fingers-crossed:
Edit 1: After using it for 12 hours, I'm very much disappointed to see that I'm getting less backup than my 4 year old battery (I understand this is just initial period but I was not expecting this ). See attached screenshot of battery drain.
Edit 2: On very second day of this new battery, the phone switched off when battery was 18%... Opened a dispute on AliExpress straightaway. This is 100% fake battery

Do not trust these sellers. I also bought the battery from a good seller; but the battery that I got was fake (see my post above yours).
They are not even responding to the dispute.
