[Q] Do i need to be root to change my font ? - Galaxy Tab 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i see that some galaxy (S, S2, S3, etc.) phones don't need to have root access to change their fonts.
I want to know if i can change my font to add some special chars without to be root ?

Thank you

You can do these stuff without root.
Im on ICS. If i go to Settings -> Display -> Font Style, i can change the font.
Font is not ment to have more characters, its just the style that letters are drawn with... If you want special characters install a custom keyboard, like hacker's keyboard, then add your language to have custom characters (i guess stock keyboard also supports languages, but im not sure, i dont have it anymore...)
================
GT-i9100 ICS 4.0.3

Do you try on a galaxy tab 2 or on your galaxy S2.
Because i know this function is present on the Galaxy S2 but i want to be sure that it's also present on the Galaxy Tab 2
Font is not ment to have more characters

Android default font doesn't have all the unicode characters of each language. So if i change the default font by another one which have all the unicode characters i will have more characters. Q.E.D.
And install a custom keyboard with special characters doesn't need root access so that's not the problem. The problem is to display them on the screen

Nobody have a Galaxy Tab 2 and can quickly respond if yes or no there is the same function as in Galaxy S, S2, S3.
Thanks

Yes the option is there (P3100).

Thank you a lot

[Q] Add or replace Samsung Galaxy Note 3 stock keyboard

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 from the Japanese carrier Docomo. The stock keyboard is set to English, Japanese, and Korean only. I would like to know if there's a way to add the Latin keyboard to the stock languages list or just replace the Korean for the Latin.
After more than 4 years as an IOS user I'm very satisfied with my first Android device, I'm not 100% satisfied with it just because the keyboard function is not as good as the IOS's.
Thanks in advance for your time and help.

bro use the keyboards available from playstre.... dey dnt have any problms or issue like this n u can get any language yu want...hope i hlped yu
I've already downloaded and tried some keyboards from the Playstore, none of them worked as I expected.
I really wanted to add the original Spanish option to the keyboard stock list so I can type letters with accents from the original keyboard by a long press.
Try morelocale 2, It could work and supports Android 4.2 but you will need root access on your phone.

[Q] How to add local language or character to rom

Dear Friends,
I have a Galaxy 5 (GT - I5500) rooted with froyo 2.2 and I want to use Persian (also called Farsi, similar to Arabic) texts on it.
I have installed Go Keyboard and its Farsi language pack, but as the characters do not exist in my device, I get a "square box" for each character.
Is there any trick I can do to introduce new language or new characters to the Rom?
Obviously, I'm not going to replace fonts, this has to be something far deeper.
Your help and support on this is highly appreciated.

Questions about samsung stock keyboard

Hi everyone! It's good to be back. I just switched from an iPhone 6 to a Galaxy S6 (G920F) few days ago but I am not new with rooting and other things in android. I just have some questions and I need help.
1. How can I make the stock samsung keyboard to always show uppercase keys (like the one in the iPhone). I do not like using 3rd party keyboards. I want the stock samsung keyboard to NOT display lowercase keys. I WANT IT TO PERMANENTLY DISPLAY UPPERCASE KEYS.
2. How can I remove the number row on the top of the stock samsung keyboard? Like the one in the S3 that does not have a number row at the top. I prefer not having the number row.
Your help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
