Need More info..

Yes you can use your SD as a mass storage device... what is your question?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium

Yeah Plug your phone in via USB and pick mount SD card on the handset
you should be able to explore it through "my computer" (on windows) where you can drag and drop files
I've found that compatibility can be poor on some pcs though (sony xperia-Some pcs wont recognize the phone as a storage device (in particular windows 7))

Micro SD card question

So after having put my droid x sd card from a while back into the sgs3, the error with the blank sd card notification came up. I put the sd card into the computer and it still says must format before i can even open it. What if any software or recovery program can recover the files if possible at all or did i just lose everything permanently.
sounds like its corrupt
Try a program called testdisk on your computer to see if it's recoverable.

Any other programs that are reliable?
Do a search for sd card recovery programs. There are a few out there

When I connect my Sony Xperia Tipo to my PC with USB debugging on, the only folder that pops up on my PC is the external SDHC card. I cannot see and access the main folder on the built in memory of the Tipo. Please help! I am needing to access the main folder to put .apk files in the sdcard folder.

32gb micro sd card help

Got a new 32gb class 10 card. So I copied old sd card to comp then copied to new card. Everything went fine , but once I reboot the phone, about half of the data goes into a folder called lost.dir and several folders appear with random lettering for names. No matter what method I use to transfer my days it does this. I've formatted in the phone. I've formatted in the comp . Neither my phone or comp day card is corrupted it seems ok. Has any one seen this before?

You said you've tried formatting several times. Just to check, did you do FAT32?

Just for debugging purposes, what happens if you insert your sd into the computer after booting once on the phone?

It recognizes it u can see all the files and the messed up ones

Its almost like every folder I add below the lost directory folder goes crazy and ends up in lost.dir going too try something and see if this works
Sent from my SCH-I535 using xda premium
So this is what I've found. No matter what files I add to the card the Minn I go over 3.75 gb and restart the phone the files that are over that amount get broken up into the lost.dir and folder replaces it with a u in front of since this is a 32gb card I'm betting the card is no good

Lost files wile moving and using hide it pro.

Please help me i've tried everithing...
I have a very large stash of pics that I kieep in Hide it pro app. I've set the app to unhide to a folder and them move that folder to the pc. when I tryed to open the folder on the PC I saw that there was only one photo inside (the first one) all the other 200 where lost.
I've run to the vault directory of hide it pro and there were the files, try to copy them and it was impossible, so I reboot the phone and the files were gone. GONE!
Now I've try to recover them with disk digger and other recovery software without any luck. If I could I would made a complete backup of the phone internal memory and them mount it has a drive and simply use recuva to get the files. But the process is to hard to understand and I can't see to know how to copy all content using adb not to the sd card but to the PC. My sd card is smaller than the internal memory so it'll not be able to acomodate a raw file from that size (64gb).
Any ideas? I believe that the files are simply lost on a regular hard drive or sd card it'll be easy but on the phone internal memory is a hell of a problem to get them out. Note that I must find the photos that are now archives with a changed name, hide it pro changes the file name...
please help.. thank you
You could try mounting it to your pc and running the program "recuva".. Worth a try.

You should just have to plug it into your pc with a usb cable and install the drivers.. Afterward it should show up as a drive and scan it.

The issue is that the S3 with android 4.3.1 is connect like MTP and not like a regular USB drive. So it is almost impossible to mout it. The only way I heard is with ADB.
Snag a micro SD to USB A adapter/card reader. Plug your microSD into your PC this way.

thats a great idea , the only problem is that the photos were in my internal memory...
